¹¹ Then he remembered the days of old, Moses and his people, saying, “Where is he who brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? Where is he who put his Holy Spirit among them?”

²² The Israelites went through the middle of the sea on dry ground. The water stood like a wall on their right and on their left.

³⁰ On that day the LORD delivered Israel from the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead along the seashore.

¹¹ And Moses implored the LORD his God, and he said, "Why, the LORD, should your anger blaze against your people whom you brought up from the land of Egypt with great power and with a strong hand? ¹² Why should the Egyptians say, 'With evil intent he brought them out to kill them in the mountains and wipe them from the face of the earth'? Turn from your fierce anger and relent concerning the disaster for your people.

⁴⁰ "'However if they confess their sins and the sins of their ancestors and the treacherous things they did to oppose me, ⁴¹ I also will walk contrary to them and will bring them into the land of their enemies. If then their uncircumcised hearts are humbled, and they then pay for their iniquity, ⁴² then I will remember my covenant with Jacob, my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham; and I will remember the land. ⁴³ The land also will be left by them, and will enjoy its Sabbaths while it lies desolate without them; and they will accept the punishment of their iniquity because they rejected my ordinances, and their soul abhorred my statutes. ⁴⁴ And in spite of this, when they are in the land of their enemies I will not reject them, and I will not abhor them to destroy them, to break my covenant with them, because I am the LORD their God. ⁴⁵ but for their sakes I will remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations, that I might be their God. I am the LORD.

¹⁷ I will come down and speak with you there; I will take away from the spirit that is on you, and I will place it on them; and they will bear the burdens of the people with you; you will not bear it alone.

²⁵ the LORD came down in the cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the Spirit that was on him, and put it on the seventy elders. When the Spirit rested on them, they prophesied, but they did so no more.

²⁹ Moses said to him, "Are you jealous for my sake? I wish that all the LORD's people were prophets, that the LORD would put his Spirit on them."

¹³ Moses said to the LORD, "Then the Egyptians will hear it; for you brought up this people in your might from among them; ¹⁴ And they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land: for they have heard that you LORD are among this people, that you LORD are seen face to face, and that your cloud stands over them, and that you go before them, by daytime in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of fire by night. ¹⁵ "But if you kill all these people at the same time the nations who have heard these reports about you will say, ¹⁶ "the LORD was not able to bring these people into the land he promised them, so he slaughtered them in the desert. ¹⁷ Now, let the power of the LORD be magnified just as you've promised saying: ¹⁸ 'the LORD is slow to anger and great of loyal love, forgiving sin and rebellion; but surely he leaves nothing unpunished, visiting the sin of the fathers on the sons to the third and fourth generations.' ¹⁹ "By your great love, please forgive these people's sins, as you have forgiven them from the time they left Egypt until now." ²⁰ the LORD said: "I forgive them, as you have asked. ²¹ But as I live, and my name liveth, and the glory of the Lord shall fill the whole earth; ²² For all the men having seen my glory and my signs which I did in Egypt and in the desert, and they will try me this ten times, they heard not to my voice. ²³ they will not see the land that I swore by oath to their ancestors, and all those who despised me will not see it. ²⁴ »My servant Caleb has a different attitude and has wholeheartedly followed me, I will bring him to the land he already explored. His descendants will possess it. ²⁵ And the Amalekites and the Canaanites live in the valleys; tomorrow turn and set out for the desert by way of the Red Sea."

³⁰ "When you are in trouble (distress) and all these things happen to you in the latter days, turn to the LORD your God and obey his voice. ³¹ For the LORD your God is a merciful God. He will not fail you nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which he swore to them.

²⁰ You gave also your good Spirit to instruct them, and did not withhold your manna from their mouth, and gave them water for their thirst.

⁶ Remember, O LORD, Your compassions and Your mercies; for they are from eternity.

⁵ I thought upon the days of old, the years of bygone ages. ⁶ I remember my song in the night,—With my own heart, I commune, And my spirit, maketh search:— ⁷ Will the Lord reject me forever and not show favor again? ⁸ Has his loving kindness vanished forever? Does his promise fail for generations? ⁹ Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has he, in anger, withheld his compassion?" Selah. ¹⁰ Then I thought: I will remember the years of the right hand of the Most High. ¹¹ I will remember the deeds of Yah. Surely I will remember your wonders from long ago.

²⁰ You led your people like a flock, by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

⁴⁷ Remember how transient is my life, For what futility have You created all the sons of humanity? ⁴⁸ What man can live on and not see death? Can he deliver his life from the power of Sheol? Selah ⁴⁹ Where is your gracious love of old, Lord, that in your faithfulness you promised to David? ⁵⁰ Remember, Lord, the reproach of your servants, how I bear in my heart the taunts of all the mighty peoples,

⁵ I remember the days of long ago; I meditate on all your doings. I muse on the labor of your hands.

⁹ Awake, awake! Clothe yourself with strength, O arm of the LORD. Awake, as in days gone by, as in generations of old. Was it not you who cut Rahab to pieces, who pierced that monster through? ¹⁰ Was it not you who dried up the sea, the waters of the great deep, who made a road in the depths of the sea so that the redeemed might cross over?

¹⁵ Look from heaven, and see from the lofty residence of your holiness and glory. Where are your zeal and strength? Your compassion and mercy to me hold themselves back.

⁶ "They didn't say, 'Where is the LORD who brought us up from the land of Egypt, who led us through the wilderness, through the land of desert and pits, through the land of dryness and deep darkness, a land that people don't pass through, and where no one lives?'

⁸ Eventually, Daniel appeared before me. (He is called Belteshazzar, in accordance with the name of my god, and the spirit of the holy gods is within him.) I told him my dream:

⁵ with the Word by whom I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt, so My Spirit remains among you; do not fear.

⁶ Then he answered and spoke to me, saying, "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel, saying, 'Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD of hosts.

⁵⁴ He has helped His servant Israel, remembering to be merciful, ⁵⁵ toward Abraham and his offspring for ever, as he spoke to our fathers.
