He walks on the wings of the wind. ⁴ He makes winds his angels, and flames of fire his servants. ⁵ He laid the earth on its foundations; it shall not be shaken forever. ⁶ You covered it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains. ⁷ At your rebuke they fled; at the sound of your thunder they ran off. ⁸ they ascend by the mountains; they descend by the valleys to the place you founded for them. ⁹ You have set a boundary they cannot cross; they will never again cover the earth. ¹⁰ He causes springs to gush forth into rivers that flow between the mountains. ¹¹ They give drink to every beast of the field: the wild donkeys quench their thirst. ¹² The birds of the sky nest by them, they sing among the branches. ¹³ He watereth the mountains from his upper-chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works. ¹⁴ He causes grass to sprout for the cattle and plants for people to cultivate, to produce food from the land, ¹⁵ and wine that gladdens the heart of man and oil to make his face to shine and bread that strengthens man's heart. ¹⁶ The trees of the LORD are satisfied the cedars of Lebanon that He planted; ¹⁷ where the birds make their nests. The stork makes its home in the fir trees. ¹⁸ The high mountains are for the wild goats; the rocks are a refuge for the conies ¹⁹ He made the moon for seasons; the sun knows its going down. ²⁰ You bring darkness and it becomes night; when every beast of the forest prowls. ²¹ The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their food from God. ²² The sun rises, and they steal away, and lie down in their dens. ²³ Man goes out to his work, to his labor until the evening. ²⁴ How manifold are Thy works, O LORD! In wisdom hast Thou made them all; the earth is full of Thy creatures. ²⁵ The sea is so big and wide with many creatures, living things both large and small. ²⁶ There the ships go, and leviathan, whom you formed to play there. ²⁷ They all wait for you to give them their food at the proper time. ²⁸ You give to them; they gather. You open your hand; they are satisfied with good. ²⁹ You hide your face, they are terrified. You take away their breath, they die and return to their dust. ³⁰ When you send your spirit, they are created, and you replenish the surface of the earth. ³¹ May the glory of the LORD endure for ever; let the LORD rejoice in His works! ³² He looks at the earth, and it trembles. He touches the mountains, and they smoke. ³³ I will sing to the LORD all my life. I will sing praise to my God as long as I exist. ³⁴ May my meditation be pleasing to him. I will be glad in the LORD. ³⁵ Let the sinners perish from the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless the LORD, O my soul. Praise the LORD!

¹ A song of David, which he sang to the LORD on the words of Cush the Benjamite. O LORD my God, I seek refuge in You; save me from all who pursue me, and deliver me;

¹ A psalm of David. Ascribe to the LORD, O sons of God, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength. ² Give to the LORD, the glory due to his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness. ³ The voice of the LORD is over the waters; the God of glory thunders. the LORD is over many waters. ⁴ The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is majestic.

¹ The LORD reigns. He is clothed with majesty. The LORD is armed with strength. The world also is established. It can't be moved.

⁶ Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.

¹ {Of David} Praise the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me praise his holy name. ² Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.

²² Praise the LORD, all you his works in all places of his dominion. Praise the LORD, O my soul.

³⁵ Let the sinners perish from the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless the LORD, O my soul. Praise the LORD!

³ Great is the LORD, and very worthy of praise, and his greatness is unsearchable.

¹⁷ He put on justice as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation upon his head: he put on the garments of vengeance, and was clad with zeal as with a cloak.

²⁴ Can any hide himself in secret places so that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.

¹⁷ Ah, Sovereign LORD! You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and stretched out arm. Nothing is too great for You. ¹⁸ showing loyal love to the thousands, and repaying the guilt of parents into the laps of their children after them. Powerful, great, mighty, his name is the LORD Almighty, ¹⁹ »You are great in counsel and mighty in deed. Your eyes are open to all the ways of the sons of men. You give to everyone according to his ways and according to the fruit of his deeds.

⁹ I saw until thrones were placed, and the Ancient of Days took his seat. His clothing was white as snow, and the hair of his head like pure wool. His throne was fiery flames, and its wheels burning fire.

⁴ I prayed to the LORD my God, and made this confession, "O Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant and loving kindness with those who love him and keep his commandments.

¹² Aren't you from everlasting, LORD my God, my Holy One? We will not die. LORD, you have appointed him for judgment. You, Rock, have established him to punish. ¹³ And among the lampstands was one like a son of man, clothed with a robe reaching down to his feet, and with a golden sash around his chest. ¹⁴ His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like a flame of fire; ¹⁵ his feet were like bronze, refined in a furnace, and his voice was like the noise of mighty waters. ¹⁶ In his right hand he held seven stars, and out of his mouth came a sharp, two-edged sword. His face was like the sun when it shines with full force. ¹⁷ And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, "Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last, ¹⁸ the Living One. I was dead, and behold, now I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of Death and of Hades. ¹⁹ Write, therefore, what you have seen, what is now and what will take place after this. ²⁰ The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in my right hand, and the seven golden lampstands, is this: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.

²² He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in.

¹² I myself made the earth, and I created humankind upon it. I, my hands, stretched out the heavens, and I commanded all their host.

¹ An oracle. The word of the LORD concerning Israel. The LORD, who stretches out the heavens, and lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him says:

² There He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light.

¹⁶ who alone has immortality, residing in unapproachable light; whom no man has seen or can see; to whom be honor and eternal power. Amen.

¹⁰ And, "In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. ¹¹ They will perish, but You remain; They will all wear out like a garment. ¹² You will roll them up like a robe; like a garment they will be changed; but You remain the same, and Your years will never end.”

⁵ This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you, that God is light and in him is no darkness at all.

¹¹ He rode on a cherub and flew, soaring on the wings of the wind!

¹⁰ He rode upon a cherub and flew; he soared upon the wings of the wind. ¹¹ But he made darkness his covering, His tent around him was dark water in clouds of air.

⁹ If I lift up the wings of the dawn, and I alight on the far side of the sea,

¹ the LORD rides on a swift cloud and is coming to Egypt. The idols of Egypt tremble before him. The hearts of the Egyptians melt (their courage fails) within them.

⁶ He who builds his chambers in the heavens and has founded his vault upon the earth, he who calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out upon the face of the earth, the LORD is his name.

³ the LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and doth not at all clear [the guilty]: the LORD, -- his way is in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

⁶⁴ “You have said it yourself,” Jesus answered. “But I say to all of you, from now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.”

⁷ Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him—even those who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. So shall it be! Amen.

¹¹ Then they were walking, talking as they went. Suddenly a fiery chariot with horses of fire appeared and separated between the two of them. Elijah went up in the storm to the heavens

¹⁷ Elisha prayed: "O LORD, open his eyes that he may see." the LORD answered his prayer. Elisha's servant looked up and saw the hillside covered with horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

⁸ lightning and hail, snow and clouds; stormy wind, fulfilling his word;

¹³ The living creatures looked like burning coals and torches. Fire moved back and forth between the living creatures. The fire was bright and lightning came out of the fire.

⁸ For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, nor an angel, nor a spirit, but the Pharisees acknowledge them all.

⁷ Referring to the angels he says, "He makes his angels winds, his servants a flame of fire."

¹⁴ Are not the angels ministering spirits, sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?

⁷ he spreads out the north over empty space, suspending the earth over nothing.

⁴ "Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation? Tell me, if you understand. ⁵ "Who determined its dimensions? Surely you know! Who stretched a measuring line across it? ⁶ "On what were its foundations set and who laid its cornerstone? ⁷ while the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

² for he founded it on the seas and established it on the rivers.

⁹ For he spoke, and it was done. He commanded, and it stood firm.

¹⁰ Say among the nations, "The LORD reigns." The world is also established. It can't be moved. He will judge the peoples with equity.

⁶ to Him who spread out the earth above the waters; for His grace endures forever:

⁴ A generation goes, a generation comes, but the earth remains forever.

¹⁰ But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar, the elements will be dissolved in the fire, and the earth and its works will not be found.

¹⁴ The sky receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved from its place.

¹¹ Then I saw a great white throne, and him who was seated on it. 'The earth and the heavens fled from his presence; no place was left for them.'

² Now the earth was formless and empty, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. ³ And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. ⁴ God saw that the light was good. God separated the light from the darkness. ⁵ And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. ¹⁹ They rose greatly on the earth, and all the high mountains under the entire heavens were covered.

⁵ But they deliberately overlook the fact that long ago by God’s word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water,

¹ God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark. He sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded.

¹⁵ Then the channels of the sea were seen, and the foundations of the world were uncovered at your rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of the breath of your nostrils.

¹⁸ The voice of Your thunder was in the whirlwind, the lightnings lit up the world, the earth trembled and shook.

⁹ He rebuked the Red Sea also, and it was dried up; so he led them through the depths, as through a desert.

³ The sea looked and fled; the Jordan turned back; ⁴ The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs. ⁵ What was it, you sea, that you fled? You Jordan, that you turned back? ⁶ O mountains, that you skipped like rams? O hills, like lambs? ⁷ Tremble, you earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob,

²⁸ when he established the clouds above, when he strengthened the fountains of the deep,

³⁹ So he got up, and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind quieted down, and there was a great calm.

⁵ The waters continued to recede until the tenth month. On the first day of the tenth month, the tops of the mountains became visible.

⁷ He gathered the waters of the ocean into a heap; he put the deeps into storehouses.

¹¹ I am establishing my covenant with you, that never again will all flesh be cut off by the waters of a flood, nor will there ever be a flood that destroys the earth." ¹² God said: "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: ¹³ I set my rainbow in the cloud, and it will be a sign of a covenant between me and the earth. ¹⁴ "Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, ¹⁵ "I will remember my covenant with you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters flood to destroy all life.

¹⁰ "He has described a circle on the face of the waters, at the boundary between light and darkness.

¹⁰ when I fixed limits for it and set its doors and bars in place, ¹¹ when I said: 'This far you may come and no farther'; here is where your proud waves halt?

⁹ "To me this is like the days of Noah, when I swore that the waters of Noah would never again cover the earth. So now I have sworn not to be angry with you, never to rebuke you again.

²² "Do you not reverence (respect) me?" Asks the LORD. "Do you not tremble [with awe] in my presence? I made the sand a boundary for the sea, a permanent barrier it cannot cross. Although the waves toss continuously, they cannot break through. Although they roar, they cannot cross it.

⁷ because the LORD your God is bringing you to a good land a land with rivers and deep springs flowing to the valleys and hills.

³⁵ He turns a desert into a pool of water, and a dry land into water springs.

⁷ And the glowing sand will become a pool and the thirsty ground springs of water. In the habitation of jackals, where they lay, will be grass with reeds and rushes.

¹⁸ "I will make rivers flow on barren heights, and springs within the valleys. I will turn the desert into pools of water, and the parched ground into springs.

⁵ Who freed the wild ass, and who loosed its bands? ⁶ Whose home I have constituted the steppe, And the salty wastes as his habitat? ⁷ He laughs at the turmoil of the city; he does not hear the driver's shouts; ⁸ The range of the mountains is his pasture, He searches after every green thing.

¹³ He watereth the mountains from his upper-chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works.

¹⁶ You open your hand, and satisfy the desire of every living thing.

¹¹ I know every bird of the mountains, and every moving creature in the field is mine.

³ Even the sparrow has found a house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, on Your altars, O LORD Almighty, my King and my God.

⁹ He provides food for the livestock, and for the young ravens when they call.

²⁶ Look at the birds of the air: They do not sow or reap or gather into barns—and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

²⁰ Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay His head.”

¹¹ but the land, you pass over to possess is a land of mountains and valleys; and drinks water of the rain of the heavens:

²⁵ "Who cuts a channel for the torrents of rain, and a path for the thunderstorm? ²⁶ "Who waters a land where no man lives, a desert with no one in it? ²⁷ Who satisfies a desolate wasteland to make it sprout with grass? ²⁸ Does the rain have a father? Or who fathers the drops of dew?

³⁷ "Who has the wisdom to count the clouds? Who can tip over the water jars of the heavens?

⁹ You care for the land and water it; you greatly enrich it. The stream of God is filled with waters. You provide their grain, for so you have established it. ¹⁰ You drench its furrows. You level its ridges. You soften it with showers. You bless it with a crop. ¹¹ You crown the year with your bounty. Your carts overflow with abundance. ¹² The wilderness grasslands overflow, the hills are clothed with gladness. ¹³ The meadows are clothed with flocks and the valleys are covered with grain. They shout for joy, yes, they sing.

³ He lays the beams of his chambers in the waters. He makes the clouds his chariot. He walks on the wings of the wind.

⁸ He covers the sky with clouds. He provides rain for the ground. He makes grass grow on the mountains.

¹³ He speaks, and the water in the sky produces a storm. He makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth. He makes lightning flash with the rain. He brings wind out of his storehouses.

²² Can any of the worthless gods of the nations make it rain? Can the heavens themselves bring forth showers? Aren't you the one who does this, LORD our God? So we hope in you, for you are the one who does all these things.

⁴⁵ that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

¹⁷ Yet He has not left Himself without testimony to His goodness: He gives you rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling your hearts with food and gladness.”

¹¹ Then God said: "Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees on the earth bearing fruit after their kind with seed in them." It was so. ¹² The earth sprouted vegetation, plants yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit, with its seed in it, after their kind; and God saw that it was good.

²⁹ Then God said: "I give you every plant that bears seed on the face of the entire earth. I also give you every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. ³⁰ "Also every beast of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground; everything that has the breath of life in it, I give every green plant for food." It was so.

⁵ No shrub of the field had yet appeared on the earth. No plant of the field had yet sprung up, for the LORD God had not sent rain on the earth. There was no man to work the ground.

⁹ the LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground, trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

¹⁸ It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants from the fields.

¹² "When you work the ground, it will no longer yield its crops for you. You will be a restless wanderer (vagabond) on the earth."

³ "Everything that lives and moves will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.

⁵ Ahab had instructed Obadiah, "Go throughout the land to all of the water springs and to all of the valleys. Maybe we'll find some grass to keep the horses and mules alive. Also, maybe we won't have to kill some of our cattle."

⁵ The earth, from which comes bread; and underneath, turns as fire.

²⁷ Who satisfies a desolate wasteland to make it sprout with grass?

²⁵ who gives food to every creature; for His grace endures forever.

¹⁵ The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food in due time. ¹⁶ You open your hand, and satisfy the desire of every living thing.

⁵ Even the doe in the field gives birth and then abandons her young because there is no grass. ⁶ Wild donkeys stand on the barren hills. They pant for air like jackals. Their eyesight fails because there is no vegetation."

²² Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field, for the pastures of the wilderness spring, for the tree bears its fruit, the fig tree and the vine yield their strength.

⁷ So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.

⁵ I will get a morsel of bread so you can refresh your heart. After that you may go your way, now that you have come to your servant." They said, "Very well, do as you have said."

²⁶ When I break your staff of bread, ten women will bake your bread in one oven and they will deliver your bread again by weight and you will eat and not be satisfied.

³ He humbled you and allowed you to suffer hunger, and fed you with manna, which you didn't know, neither did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man does not live by bread only, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD.

⁴⁰ You will have olive trees throughout all your borders, but you won't anoint yourself with the oil, for your olives will drop off.

⁹ And the olive tree replied, 'Should I stop producing my oil, which by me gods and men are honored, to go sway over the trees?'

¹³ And the vine said unto them, Should I leave my wine, which cheers God and man, to go and sway over the trees?

⁵ You prepare a table before me, even in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

¹⁰ But you have exalted my horn like that of a wild ox; you have anointed me with fresh oil.

¹⁶ He called for a famine on the land, He destroyed the piles of food.

⁶ Give strong drink to the perishing, And wine to the bitter in soul,

¹ Who is as the wise? Who knows the interpretation of a word? Human wisdom lights his face and the strength of his face changes.

⁷ Go, eat your bread with mirth, and drink your wine with a joyful heart; for now God has favorably accepted your works.

¹⁹ A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh life merry; but money answereth everything.

² Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth; for your love is better than wine. ³ Because of the fragrance of your good ointments your name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love you. ⁴ Take me away with you. Let us hurry. The king has brought me into his chambers. We will be glad and rejoice in you. We will praise your love more than wine. They are right to love you.

¹ For look, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, takes away from Jerusalem and from Judah supply and support, the whole supply of bread, and the whole supply of water;

¹² They will come and sing in the height of Zion, and will flow to the goodness of the LORD, to the grain, to the new wine, to the oil, and to the young of the flock and of the herd. Their soul will be as a watered garden. They will not sorrow any more at all.

¹⁶ Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, behold, I will cut off the supply of bread in Jerusalem: and they shall eat bread by weight, and with care; and they shall drink water by measure, and in dismay:

¹⁶ '"When I shoot my destructive arrows of famine at you, I will shoot to kill you. I will bring more and more famine into your land. I will cut off your food supply.

¹³ "Son of man, suppose a country sins against me by being unfaithful to me. I will stretch out my hand (use my power) against it, cut off its food supply, send a famine to it, and destroy its people and animals."

¹⁵ The LORD of hosts will defend them; and they will destroy and overcome with sling stones; and they will drink, and roar as through wine; and they will be filled like bowls, like the corners of the altar. ¹⁶ "the LORD their God will save them in that day like the flock of his people. They will be like the stones in a crown lifted high over his land. ¹⁷ For how great is his goodness, and how great is his beauty! Grain will make the young men thrive, and new wine the young women.

²³ Then He took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, and they all drank from it.

⁴⁶ You put no oil on my head: but she has put perfume on my feet.

¹⁸ Do not get drunk with wine, which is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit,

⁹ You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, Your God, has placed You above Your companions by anointing You with the oil of joy.”

²⁰ But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know the truth.

⁶ "They are like valleys that stretch out, like gardens beside the river, like aloes planted by the LORD, like cedars beside the waters.

⁵ The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars. Yes, the LORD breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.

² to proclaim your gracious love in the morning and your faithfulness at night,

²³ I will plant it in the mountain of the height of Israel; and it will produce boughs, and bear fruit, and be a good cedar. Birds of every kind will dwell in the shade of its branches.

¹² The birds of the sky nest by them, they sing among the branches.

⁷ Even the stork in the sky knows its seasons, and the dove, the swallow, and the crane observe the time for migration. But my people don't know the requirements of the LORD.

²³ You who live in Lebanon, who build your nest in the cedars, how you will groan when pains come upon you, pain like that of a woman giving birth.

⁶ "'All the birds of the heavens nested in its boughs. Under its branches all the beasts of the field gave birth and all great nations lived under its shade.

²¹ And its foliage beautiful, and its fruit great, and food for all in it; under it the beast of the open field will dwell, and in its branches the birds of the heavens will dwell:

⁴ Even if you soar like the eagle, even if your nest is set among the stars, from there I will bring you down!" declares the LORD:

³² Although it is the smallest of all seeds, yet it grows into the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.”

He also made the stars. ¹⁷ God set them in the expanse of the sky to give light to the earth, ¹⁸ and to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good.

¹⁹ and lest having looked up to the sky, and having seen the sun and the moon and the stars, and all the heavenly bodies, you should go astray and worship them, and serve them, which the Lord your God has distributed to all the nations under heaven.

²⁶ if I have seen the sun when it shined, or the moon moving in splendor, ²⁷ and I was secretly enticed, and my hand threw them a kiss, ²⁸ this also would be an iniquity for the judges; for I would have denied the God above.

¹² "Have you ever commanded the morning, or shown the dawn its place?

³ When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have ordained;

⁶ It rises from one end of the heavens. It circles around to the other. Nothing is hidden from its heat.

⁷ Who made the great lights: for his mercy endureth for ever. ⁸ the sun to rule by day; for His grace endures forever; ⁹ the moon and stars to rule by night; for His grace endures forever:

³⁵ So says the LORD, who gives the sun for a light by day, the laws of the moon, and the stars for a light by night, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar, the LORD Almighty is His name.

⁴ God saw that the light was good. God separated the light from the darkness. ⁵ And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.

²² "As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, will never cease."

¹⁰ For every animal of the forest is Mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills.

¹⁶ Yours is the day, and yours is the night; you established the moon and the sun.

¹⁰ even there your hand will lead me, and your right hand will hold me. ¹¹ If I say: Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light around me. ¹² even the darkness doesn’t hide from you, but the night shines as the day. The darkness is like light to you.

⁷ I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

¹³ This is what the LORD says: "For three transgressions of the Ammonites and now for a fourth I will not turn away; because they ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead in order to enlarge their national borders.

³⁹ "Do you hunt the prey for the lioness and satisfy the hunger of the lions

⁴¹ "Who provides food for the raven when its young cry out to God and wander about for lack of food?

¹⁰ Young lions lack and go hungry, but those who seek the LORD will never lack any good thing.

¹⁵ The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food in due time.

⁴ This is what the LORD said to me: "A lion, even a young lion, growls over its prey when a crowd of shepherds is called to fight it. It is not frightened by their voices or disturbed by the noise they make. So the LORD Almighty will come to fight for Mount Zion and on its hill.

² »Say: ‘What a lioness was your mother among the lions! She lay down among the young lions and reared her cubs. ³ '"She brought up one of her cubs, and he became a strong lion. He learned to tear the prey and he devoured men. ⁴ The nations heard about him. He was trapped in their pit. They led him with hooks to the land of Egypt. ⁵ '"When she saw her hope unfulfilled, her expectation gone, she took another of her cubs and made him a strong lion. ⁶ '"He prowled among the lions, for he was now a strong lion. He learned to tear the prey and he devoured men. ⁷ '"He broke down their strongholds and devastated their towns. His roaring terrified the residents of the land. ⁸ '"Then the nations came against him, those from regions round about. They spread their net for him, and he was trapped in their pit. ⁹ '"With hooks they pulled him into a cage and brought him to the king of Babylon. They put him in prison. Therefore his roar was heard no longer on the mountains of Israel. ¹⁰ '"Your mother was like a vine in your vineyard planted by the water. It was fruitful and full of branches because of abundant water. ¹¹ '"Its branches were strong and fit for a ruler's scepter. It towered high above the thick foliage, conspicuous for its height and for its many branches. ¹² ‘»It was uprooted in fury and thrown to the ground. The east wind made it shrivel. It was stripped of its fruit. Its strong branches withered and fire consumed them. ¹³ '"Now it is planted in the desert, in a dry and thirsty land. ¹⁴ '"Fire spread from one of its main branches and consumed its fruit. No strong branch is left on it fit for a ruler's scepter. This is a song of grief and is to be used as a song of grief.'"

¹⁸ "How the beasts groan! The herds of cattle wander about because they have no pasture. The flocks of sheep suffer.

²⁰ Also, the beasts of the field long for you, because the courses of water are dried up, and fire has devoured the pastures of the desert.

⁴ Will a lion roar in the thicket, when he has no prey? Does a young lion cry out of his den, if he has caught nothing?

¹³ These are of those who rebel against the light. They don't know its ways, nor stay in its paths. ¹⁴ With the light, riseth the murderer, He slayeth the poor and needy, And, in the night, he becometh like a thief. ¹⁵ And the eye of the adulterer waits for dusk, saying, 'No eye will see me,' and he places a covering on his face. ¹⁶ In the dark they dig through houses; by day they shut themselves in; they know not the light: ¹⁷ "For deep darkness is morning to all of them. They are friends with the terrors of deep darkness.

⁸ Then the animals take cover, and remain in their dens.

¹⁷ Your guards are like the locusts, and your officials like the swarms of locusts, which settle on the walls on a cold day, but when the sun appears, they flee away, and their place is not known where they are.

²⁰ Everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come into the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.

¹⁹ By the sweat of your brow you shall eat bread, until your return to the ground. For from it you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return."

¹⁶ In the evening there came an old man from his work in the field. He was from the hill country of Ephraim and he lived in Gibeah, but the men of the place were Benjamites.

¹² The sleep of a laboring man is sweet, whether he eats little or much; but the abundance of the rich will not allow him to sleep.

²⁸ He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing good with his own hands, that he may have something to share with the one in need.

⁸ nor did we eat anyone’s food without paying for it. Instead, in labor and toil, we worked night and day so that we would not be a burden to any of you. ⁹ We did this, not because we do not have the right to such help, but in order to make ourselves an example for you to follow. ¹⁰ For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: "If anyone will not work, he shall not eat." ¹¹ For we hear of some that walk among you disorderly, that work not at all, but are busybodies ¹² Such we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to work quietly and eat their own bread.

²⁴ God said: "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind." It was so. ²⁵ God made the wild animals according to their kinds. He made the livestock according to their kinds and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. God saw that it was good.

³¹ God saw all that he had made. It was very good. There was evening, and there was morning, the sixth day.

⁶ "You alone are the LORD. You alone have made the heavens, the heavens of the heavens, and all of their army, the earth and all that is in it, the waters and all that is in them. You give life to all of them, and the army of the heavens worship you.

⁹ "He does great things that we cannot understand and miracles that we cannot count.

¹ A Psalm of David. The earth is the LORD's, and the fullness of it; the world, and those who live in it.

⁵ O LORD my God, Many are the wonders that you have done and your thoughts toward us. None can compare with you. If I would declare and teach about them, they would be too numerous to report.

¹⁰ For every animal of the forest is Mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills. ¹¹ I know every bird of the mountains, and every moving creature in the field is mine. ¹² If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for the world is mine, and all that is in it.

¹¹ You crown the year with your bounty. Your carts overflow with abundance.

³¹ Let them give thanks to the LORD for his loyal love and his wonderful deeds for the children of humankind,

⁵ to Him who by understanding made the heavens; for His grace endures forever:

¹⁹ By wisdom the LORD laid the earth's foundations, and by understanding he set the heavens in place. ²⁰ By his knowledge the depths were rent, and the clouds will drop dew.

²² "the LORD possessed me, the first of his ways, before his acts of old. ²³ I was set up from eternity, from the beginning, before the earth was. ²⁴ When there were no depths, I was born, when there were no springs abounding with water. ²⁵ Before the mountains were settled in place, before the hills, I was born; ²⁶ When he had not made the earth or the fields or the dust of the world. ²⁷ when he crafted the heavens, I was there when he marked out a circle on the face of the deep, ²⁸ when he established the clouds above, when he strengthened the fountains of the deep, ²⁹ when he gave to the sea its boundary, that the waters should not violate his commandment, when he marked out the foundations of the earth, ³⁰ then I was the craftsman by his side. I was a delight day by day, always rejoicing before him, ³¹ rejoicing in his inhabitable world and taking delight in mankind." ³² Now therefore, my sons, listen to me, for blessed are those who keep my ways. ³³ Listen to instruction and be wise. Don't ignore it. ³⁴ Blessed is the person who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at my doorways ³⁵ For whoever finds me, finds life, and will obtain favor from the LORD. ³⁶ "But he who sins against me wrongs himself. All who hate me love death."

¹² He who made the earth by his power, and established the world by his wisdom; also stretched out the heavens by his understanding.

³³ O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

⁸ that He lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.

¹⁰ His purpose was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms,

¹⁷ Charge the rich of this world not to be arrogant, nor to set their hopes on such an uncertain thing as riches, but on God who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.

²⁰ God said, “Let the waters abound with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open expanse of the sky.” ²¹ And God created the great whales, and every living and moving creature, which the waters brought forth, according to their kinds, and every winged fowl according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. ²² God blessed them and said: "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth."

²⁸ God blessed them and said to them: "Be fruitful and increase in number. Fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and dominate the birds of the air. Have dominion over every living creature that moves on the ground."

¹ Now the serpent was craftier than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman: "Did God really say, you must not eat from any tree in the garden?"

¹⁴ Of the fruits brought forth by the sun and by the moon. ¹⁵ with the finest produce of the ancient mountains, and the abundance of the everlasting hills, ¹⁶ and with the choice things of the earth and its fullness, and the favor of the one who dwelt in the bush. Let them come to the head of Joseph, and to the crown of the prince among his brothers.

¹⁹ They will call the tribes unto the mountain; there will they offer sacrifices of righteousness; for they will suck the abundance of the seas, and the treasures hid in the sand.

³⁴ Let heavens and earth praise him, the seas and all that moves in them,

⁴ He holds in his hand the lowest parts of the earth and the mountain peaks belong to him. ⁵ The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land.

⁵ But Paul shook the creature off into the fire and suffered no ill effects.

¹³ Zebulun shall live at the sea shore. And he shall be a haven for ships, and his border beside Sidon.

⁸ Let them curse it that curse the day, who are ready to rouse Leviathan;

¹ Can you draw out the leviathan with a fishhook, Or hold down his tongue with a line? ² Can you put a reed rope into his nose, or pierce his jaw with a thorn? ³ Would he make many supplications to you, Or speak to you with tender words? ⁴ Will he make an agreement with you, so that you may take him as a servant for ever? ⁵ Will you play with it as with birds and put it on a leash for your girls? ⁶ Will traders barter for him? Will they part him among the merchants? ⁷ Can you fill his skin with harpoons? or his head with fish spears? ⁸ Lay your hand on him, and you'll remember the struggle. You'll never do that again! ⁹ Behold, one's hope is proved a lie; Even at the sight of him one is hurled down. ¹⁰ "No one is as fierce that he would dare stir him up. Who then is able to stand against me? ¹¹ "Who has preceded me that I should pay him? Everything under heaven is mine. ¹² I will not keep silence concerning his limbs, nor his mighty strength, nor his graceful frame. ¹³ Who can strip off his outer armor? Who can approach him with a bridle? ¹⁴ Who can open the doors of his face? round about his teeth is terror ¹⁵ Its back has scales of shields; it is shut up closely as with a seal. ¹⁶ One is so near to another, that no air can come between them. ¹⁷ They are joined one to another; they cling together and cannot be separated. ¹⁸ "His snorting releases flashes of light; his eyes are like the rays of the dawn. ¹⁹ Torches go from its mouth; sparks of fire shoot out. ²⁰ Smoke billows from his nostrils; like a boiling pot or burning reeds. ²¹ His breath kindles coals, and a flame goes forth from his mouth. ²² "Strength abides in its neck, and dismay dances before it. ²³ "The folds of its flesh cling together; it is firmly cast and immovable. ²⁴ "Its heart is as hard as stone, as hard as the lower millstone. ²⁵ When he raises himself up, the mighty are afraid. They retreat before his thrashing. ²⁶ The sword of him that reaches him cannot avail: neither the spear, the dart, nor the javelin. ²⁷ He regards iron as straw, and bronze as rotten wood. ²⁸ The arrow can’t make him flee. Sling stones are like chaff to him. ²⁹ Clubs are counted as stubble. He laughs at the rushing of the javelin. ³⁰ His undersides are like sharp potsherds, leaving a trail in the mud like a threshing sledge. ³¹ It makes the deep boil like a cooking pot; it makes the sea like a pot of ointment. ³² Behind it, it leaves a glistening wake; one would think that the deep has gray hair. ³³ "On the ground it has no equal— a creature without fear. ³⁴ It observes all the lofty; it is king over all that are proud."

¹⁴ you crushed the heads of leviathan and gave him for food to the people - the desertdwellers:

²³ As for them who go to sea in ships, and traffick on the mighty waters;

¹ In that day the LORD will punish with his sword, his fierce, great and powerful sword. He will slay Leviathan the fleeing, coiling serpent, the monster of the sea.

⁹ "‘"The elders of Gebal and her wise men were with you repairing your seams. All the ships of the sea and their sailors were with you in order to deal in your merchandise.

³¹ "This is the way he governs the nations and provides food in abundance.

⁶ Your righteousness is like the great mountains; your judgments are a great deep: O LORD, you preserve man and beast.

²⁴ Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap; they have no storehouse or barn, yet God feeds them. How much more valuable are you than the birds! ²⁵ Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his lifespan? ²⁶ So if you cannot do this very little thing, why should you worry about the rest? ²⁷ Consider how the lilies grow: They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory was adorned like one of these. ²⁸ If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith!

¹⁷ Then my anger will be kindled against them in that day and I will forsake them and I will hide my face from them and they will be devoured and many evils and troubles will come upon them, so that they will say in that day, Have not these evils come upon us because our God is not among us?

⁹ "'Remember that you molded me like clay. Will you now turn me to dust again?

²⁴ Why do you hide your face, and consider me your enemy?

¹⁴ If he set his heart on man, if he gather to himself his spirit and his breath; ¹⁵ All flesh would expire together, and man would return to the dust.

²⁹ "If he is remains silent, who will condemn him? If he conceals his face, who can see him? He watches over both nation and individual alike,

⁷ You, LORD, when you favored me, made my mountain stand strong; but when you hid your face, I was troubled.

³ You turn men back into dust and say: "Return, O sons of men!"

⁴ When they stop breathing, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans evaporate!

⁷ and the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

²⁵ Nor is He served by human hands, as if He needed anything, because He Himself gives all men life and breath and everything else.

²⁰ For the creation was subjected to futility, not of its own will, but by the will of him who subjected it in hope; ²¹ that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God. ²² We know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until the present time.

¹³ "By his wind the heavens were made fair. His hand pierced the fleeing serpent.

⁴ "The Spirit of God has made me. The Breath of the Almighty gives me life.

⁶ By the word of the LORD were the heavens made, and all the hosts of them by the breath of his mouth.

¹⁴ For the palace will be forsaken, the crowded city deserted; the hill and the watchtower will become a cave forever, the joy of wild asses, a pasture for flocks. ¹⁵ until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field and the fruitful field be esteemed as a forest.

¹⁷ For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth and the former things will not be remembered, nor come into mind.

²² For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, will remain before me, says the LORD, so will your seed and your name remain.

⁹ Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the wind, prophesy, son of man, and tell the wind, 'The Sovereign LORD says: “Come from the four winds, breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.”'”

¹ As for you, you were dead in your trespasses and sins,

⁴ But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, ⁵ made us alive with Christ, even when we were dead in our trespasses. It is by grace you have been saved!

⁵ he saved us, not by deeds of righteousness that we have done, but because of his mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit,

⁵ Then He who was seated on the throne said, "See! I am making everything new." He continued, "Write this, for these words are trustworthy and true."

¹⁷ It is a sign between me and the sons of Israel for ever; for in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed.

¹⁶ For the Lord will rebuild Sion and appear in his glory.

⁵ For as a young man marries a virgin, so will your sons marry you. And as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so will your God rejoice over you.

¹⁸ "Be glad and rejoice forever in what I will create, for I will create Jerusalem to be a delight and its people a joy. ¹⁹ "I will rejoice over Jerusalem and take delight in my people. The sound of weeping and of crying will be heard in it no more."

⁴¹ I'll rejoice over them to do good for them, and I'll faithfully plant them in this land with all my heart and soul.

¹⁷ The LORD your God in the midst of you is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over you with joy; he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.

⁵ And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders, ⁶ Then he goes home, calls his friends and neighbors together, and says to them, 'Rejoice with me, because I've found my lost sheep!'

²² But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. ²³ Bring the fatted calf and kill it. Let us feast and celebrate. ²⁴ For this son of mine was dead and is alive again! He was lost and is found!’ So they began to celebrate.

³⁶ For from him, and through him, and to him are all things. To him be the glory for ever! Amen.

⁵ to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

²¹ to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations for ever and ever: Amen.

¹⁸ The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory for ever and ever. Amen.

²¹ equip you with every good thing to do His will. And may He accomplish in us what is pleasing in His sight through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

¹¹ To him be the power forever and ever. Amen.

¹⁸ But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.

¹² In a loud voice they said: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing!” ¹³ And I heard every creature in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be praise and honor and glory and power forever and ever.”

¹⁸ Mount Sinai was all in smoke because the LORD descended upon it in fire. Its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace. The whole mountain quaked violently!

³ Our God comes, and does not keep silent. A fire devours before him. It is very stormy around him.

¹⁶ The waters saw you, God. The waters saw you, and they writhed. The depths also convulsed.

⁴ His lightning lights up the world. The earth sees, and trembles. ⁵ Mountains melt like wax before the LORD before the LORD of all the earth.

⁷ Tremble, you earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob,

⁵ Part your heavens, LORD, and come down. Touch the mountains, and they will smoke.

¹ Oh that You would tear the heavens and come down, that mountains would quake before You. ² Be like the fire that kindles brushwood and makes water boil. Come down to make your name known to your enemies. The nations may tremble in your presence.

²³ I looked at the earth, and it was formless and void, at the heavens, and there was no light there. ²⁴ I looked on the mountains, and, lo, they quaked; and all the hills were shaken. ²⁵ I see that there are no people, and every bird has flown away. ²⁶ I looked, and the fruitful land had become a desert. All its towns were broken down because of the LORD, because of his burning anger.

⁸ Shall not the land tremble for this, and all who dwell in it mourn? And all of it shall rise up like the light. And it shall overflow and sink like the Nile of Egypt.

⁵ The mountains quake before him, and the hills melt away. The earth trembles at his presence, yes, the world, and all who dwell in it. ⁶ His indignation—who can stand before it? Who can endure his fierce anger? His wrath is poured out like fire; rocks are shattered before him.

⁵ Plague went before him, and pestilence followed his feet. ⁶ He stood, and shook the earth. He looked, and made the nations tremble. The ancient mountains crumbled. The age-old hills collapsed. His ways are eternal.

¹⁰ The mountains saw you, and were afraid. The storm of waters passed by. The deep roared and lifted up its hands on high.

³ And again they shouted, "Hallelujah! The smoke from her goes up for ever and ever."

⁴ Thus will I bless thee while I live: and in thy name I will lift up my hands.

¹ A praise psalm by David. I will exalt you, my God, the King. I will praise your name forever and ever. ² Every day I will praise you. I will extol your name forever and ever.

² I will praise the LORD while I live; I will sing praises to my God while I am still alive.

² But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.

² I will be glad and rejoice in you. I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.

¹¹ Rejoice in the LORD, and be glad, ye righteous; and shout for joy, all ye upright in heart.

⁵ My soul will be satisfied as with the best and richest food, and with joyful lips my mouth will praise. ⁶ when I remember you on my bed I meditate on you in the watches:

¹² I will also meditate on all your work and consider your activities.

¹⁵ I will meditate on your precepts, and consider your ways. ¹⁶ I am delighted with your statutes; I will not forget your word.

¹¹¹ I inherited thy testimonies forever: for they are the joy of my heart.

¹²⁷ Therefore I love your commandments more than gold, yes, more than pure gold. ¹²⁸ Therefore I consider all of your precepts to be right. I hate every false way.

¹⁶⁷ I obey your laws and love them exceedingly.

¹⁷ How precious to me are your thoughts, God. How vast is the sum of them. ¹⁸ If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand. When I awake, I am still with you.

¹⁴ Thus know wisdom for the sake of your soul, if you find it, then there is a future, and your hope will not be cut off.

¹⁷ Though the fig tree shall not blossom, and fruit is not on the vines; the work of the olive fails, and the fields make no food; the flock is cut off from the fold, and no herd is in the stalls, ¹⁸ yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in God my Savior.

⁴⁷ and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior!

⁴ Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

³¹ “So let all your enemies perish, the LORD, but let those who love him be as the sun when it rises in its strength.” Then the land had rest forty years.

⁴ This is not so for the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away.

³⁸ Sinners will be destroyed together; the future of the wicked will be cut off.

¹³ Consume them in wrath, consume them, that they be no more: and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob, unto the ends of the earth. [Selah

¹ {To the chief Musician. Of David. A Psalm: a Song.} Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered, and let them that hate him flee before him. ² As smoke is driven away, You drive them away; as wax melts before the fire, let the wicked perish in the presence of God.

²⁷ Those who are far from you will perish. You have destroyed all those who are unfaithful to you.

⁸ Every morning will I destroy all the wicked of the land: to cut off all workers of iniquity from the city of the LORD.

²² Praise the LORD, all you his works in all places of his dominion. Praise the LORD, O my soul.

⁴⁵ that they might keep his statutes, and observe his laws. Praise the LORD.

⁴⁸ Thanks be to the LORD the God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting. Let all the people say amen. Praise the LORD!

²² But the wicked will be cut off from the land, and the treacherous will be uprooted from it.
