⁷ Our fathers in Egypt did not understand your wonders. They did not remember your abundant kindnesses. But they rebelled by the Red Sea.

¹¹ They also said to Moses, "Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you took us out to die in the desert? What have you done to us, by bringing us out of Egypt? ¹² "Did we not say in Egypt: Leave us alone that we may serve the Egyptians? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert."

⁷ But I, in the abundance of Your grace, I will come into Your house; I will worship in Your fear toward Your holy temple.

¹¹ They forgot what he had done, and the wonderful works that he had showed for them.

⁴² They did not remember his power and the day he freed them from their oppressor,

⁵ Remember His wonders that He has done, His miracles, and the judgments of His mouth,

⁴⁵ he remembered his covenant and according to the multitude of his mercies;

²² "How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? How long will mockers delight themselves in mockery, and fools hate knowledge?

¹⁸ They know not, they understand not; for their eyes are daubed over, that they cannot see; their hearts, that they cannot understand.

⁷ The kindnesses of the LORD will I mention, the praises of the LORD, according to all which the LORD requites us, and the vast good to the house of Israel which He requites them, according to His compassions, and according to His many kindnesses."

³² though he causes grief, his compassion abounds according to his gracious love.

¹² so that, ‘they may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding; otherwise they might turn and be forgiven.’”

¹⁷ Aware of their conversation, Jesus asked them, “Why are you debating about having no bread? Do you still not see or understand? Do you have such hard hearts? ¹⁸ Do you have eyes but fail to see? Do you have ears but fail to hear? Don't you remember? ¹⁹ When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many basketfuls of broken pieces did you collect?” “Twelve,” they answered. ²⁰ "And when I broke the seven loaves for the four thousand how many basketfuls of fragments you picked up?" They said, "Seven." ²¹ He said to them, "Do you not yet understand?"

¹¹ Therefore remember that formerly you who are Gentiles in the flesh and called uncircumcised by the so-called circumcision (that done in the body by human hands)—

¹⁰ and with all the deception of wickedness for those who are to perish, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. ¹¹ For this reason, God will send them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie, ¹² and so that all may be condemned who have not believed the truth but have taken pleasure in wickedness.
