¹ Behold, praise the LORD, all you servants of the LORD, who stand by night in the house of the LORD. ² Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and praise the LORD. ³ May the LORD who fashions heaven and earth bless you from Zion.

³⁵ "You will stay at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting day and night for seven days and keep the watch as the LORD directs you. Then you will not die. This is what I was commanded."

⁸ At that time the LORD set apart the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to stand before the LORD to minister to him, and to bless in his name, to this day.

²³ They and their descendants were in charge of guarding the gates of the house of the LORD, the house called the tent.

³³ Those who were musicians, heads of Levite families, stayed in the rooms of the temple and were exempt from other duties because they were responsible for the work day and night.

³⁰ They were also to stand every morning to thank and praise the LORD. They were to do the same in the evening ³¹ and whenever burnt offerings were presented to the LORD on Sabbaths and at New Moon festivals and at appointed feasts. They were to serve before the LORD regularly in the proper number and in the way prescribed for them. ³² So the Levites carried out their responsibilities for the Tent of Meeting, for the Holy Place and, under their brothers the descendants of Aaron, for the service of the Temple of the LORD.

¹¹ My sons, do not be negligent now. For the LORD has chosen you to stand before Him, to serve Him, and that you should minister to Him and burn incense.

²¹ Bless the LORD, all you his hosts, you his attendants who do his will.

³⁷ and then was a widow to the age of eighty-four. She never left the temple, but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying.

¹⁵ Therefore, they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will spread his tent over them.

⁵ And a voice came from the throne, saying, "Praise our God, all you his servants, you who fear him, both small and great."

⁶ I will wash my hands in innocence: so will I go about your altar, O LORD:

² Hear the voice of my petitions, when I cry to you, when I lift up my hands toward your Most Holy Place.

² So I have seen you in the sanctuary, watching your power and your glory.

⁴ Thus will I bless thee while I live: and in thy name I will lift up my hands.

² Let my prayer be set before you like incense; the lifting up of my hands like the evening sacrifice.

¹⁹ Arise, cry out in the night, at the beginning of the watches! Pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord. Lift up your hands toward him for the life of your young children, who faint for hunger at the head of every street.

⁴¹ Let us lift up our hearts and our hands to God in heaven.

⁸ Therefore, I want men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands, without anger or dissension.

⁷ Oh that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion. When the LORD restores the fortunes of his people, may Jacob rejoice, may Israel be glad.

² send you help from the sanctuary, grant you support from Zion,

² the LORD will send out your mighty scepter from Zion; rule in the midst of your enemies.

⁸ Our help is in the name of the LORD, the maker of heaven and earth.

⁵ May the LORD bless you from Zion so that you may see Jerusalem prosper all the days of your life.

²¹ Blessed be the LORD from Zion, Who dwells at Jerusalem. Praise the LORD.

⁵ Blessed is he whose helper is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God: ⁶ who made heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them, the one who keeps faith forever,

²⁶ And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: “The Deliverer will come from Zion, He will remove godlessness from Jacob.
