⁵ For His anger is only a moment; in His favor is life. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

²⁴ And Jacob was left alone; and a man wrestled with him till the morning.

⁶ I am worn out from groaning. All night long I flood my bed with weeping and drench my couch with tears. ⁷ My eyes grow weak with sorrow. I am weak because of all my foes. ⁸ Depart from me, all you who do evil. the LORD hears my weeping. ⁹ the LORD has heard my supplication. the LORD accepts my prayer.

¹¹ You have made known to me the ways of life; You will fill me with joy with Your countenance: at Your right hand there are delights forever.

⁷ How precious is your gracious love, God! The children of men take refuge in the shadow of your wings. ⁸ They are refreshed with the fullness of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights. ⁹ For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.

⁵ God is within her. She shall not be moved. God will help her at dawn.

⁸ You scribe my wanderings - set my tears into your skin; are they not in your scroll? ⁹ Then my enemies will turn back when I call. This I know because God is for me. ¹⁰ In God, whose word I praise, in the LORD, whose word I praise, ¹¹ In God I put my trust, I will not be afraid! What can man do to me?

¹⁶ But I will sing to Your strength, and in the morning will I rejoice in Your mercy; for You have been my supporter, and my refuge in the day of my affliction.

³ Because your loyal love is better than life, my lips will praise you.

⁹ He will not always chasten, nor will he keep his anger forever.

¹⁷ But the loyal love of Yahweh is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to their children's children,

⁵ Those who sow in tears will reap in joy. ⁶ He who goes out weeping, carrying seed for sowing, will certainly come again with joy, carrying his sheaves.

⁸ In the morning let me hear of your gracious love, for in you I trust. Cause me to know the way I should take, because I have set my hope on you.

²⁰ Go, my people, enter your rooms and shut the doors behind you. Hide yourselves for a little while until his rage has passed by.

³ Remember, O Lord, how I have walked before You in truth, with a true heart, and have done that which was pleasing in Your sight. And Hezekiah wept bitterly. ⁴ Then the word of the LORD came to Isaiah, saying, ⁵ "Go, and tell Hezekiah, 'Thus says the LORD, the God of David your father, "I have heard your prayer. I have seen your tears. Look, I will add fifteen years to your life.

⁷ "For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with deep compassion I will bring you back. ⁸ "In a surge of anger I hid my face from you for a moment, but with everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you," says the LORD your Redeemer.

¹⁵ For thus says the high and lofty one who resides forever, and whose name is holy: "I reside in a high and holy place, and with the contrite and humble of spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite. ¹⁶ For I will not contend forever, nor will I always be angry, for the spirit would faint before me, and the souls that I have made.

³ Let us acknowledge the LORD. Let us press on to know the LORD. As surely as the sun rises, The LORD will appear. He will come to us like the rain, like the spring rain that waters the earth."

⁴ Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

²⁰ Truly, truly, I tell you, you will weep and wail while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy. ²¹ A woman has pain in childbirth because her time has come; but when she brings forth her child, she forgets her anguish because of her joy that a child has been born into the world. ²² So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.

¹⁷ For our light and temporary affliction is producing for us an eternal glory that far outweighs our troubles.

⁹ And now I rejoice, not because you were made sorrowful, but because your sorrow led you to repentance. For you felt the sorrow that God had intended, and so were not harmed in any way by us. ¹⁰ Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation without regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.

¹ Then the angel showed me a river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb,

¹⁷ And the Spirit and the bride say Come. And let him who hears, say Come. And he who is thirsty, let him come. And whosoever will, let him take of the living water freely.
