³¹ So you also, whenever you see these things happening, know that the Kingdom of God is near.

² and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of the heavens has come near!”

¹ The Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing Him they asked Him to show them a sign from heaven. ² But in answer He said to them: “When it is evening you say, ‘Fair weather, for the sky is red’; ³ and in the morning, ‘Today will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast’. Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky but cannot discern the signs of the times. ⁴ A malignant and adulterous generation seeks a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.” And leaving them behind He went away.

⁵¹ Do you imagine that I came to provide peace on the earth? Not at all, I tell you, but rather division. ⁵² Because from now on there will be five in one house divided: three against two and two against three. ⁵³ Father will be divided against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.” ⁵⁴ Then He also said to the crowds: “Whenever you see a cloud rising from the west, immediately you say, ‘A rainstorm is coming’, and so it does. ⁵⁵ And whenever a south wind blows, you say, ‘It will be hot’, and it happens. ⁵⁶ Hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky and of the earth, so how can you not discern this time? ⁵⁷ Also why, even of yourselves, do you not judge what is right?

³⁷ For in a very little while, “He who is coming will come and will not delay.

⁹ Do not groan against one another, brothers, lest you be judged. Look, the Judge is standing at your doors!

⁷ The end of all things has approached; therefore be serious and self-controlled in your praying.
