⁶¹ So they said to her, “There is no one among your relatives who is called by this name”. ⁶² So they started motioning to his father, as to what he would have him called. ⁶³ Asking for a writing tablet he wrote this: “His name is John!” They all marveled.

You love the best seat in the synagogues, and greetings in the marketplaces. ⁴⁴ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You are like unperceived graves, that people walk on without knowing it.”

Looking at him Jesus said, “You are Simon, the son of Jonah; you will be called Cephas” (which is translated ‘Stone’). ⁴³ The next day He decided to go to Galilee, so He finds Philip and says to him, “Follow me.”

⁴⁵ Philip finds Nathanael and says to him, “We have found the One of whom Moses in the Law—and also the prophets—wrote: Jesus the son of Joseph, from Natsareth.” ⁴⁶ So Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good come out of Natsareth ?” Philip says to him, “Come and see!”

³ By faith we understand that the ages were created by a word from God, so that the things that are seen were made out of things invisible.

³⁹ Now all these did not receive the promise, though having been approved through faith, ⁴⁰ God having planned something better for us, so that they should not be perfected without us.

⁷ actually there are three who bear witness

⁹ If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater; for this is God’s testimony which He has testified concerning His Son. ¹⁰ He who believes into the Son of God has the witness within himself; he who doesn’t believe God has made Him out to be a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has testified concerning His Son. ¹¹ And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.

⁹ Anyone who turns aside and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; but whoever continues in Christ’s teaching does have both the Father and the Son.
