¹ And David said in his heart, I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul: there is nothing better for me than that I should speedily escape into the land of the Philistines; and Saul will despair of me, to seek me any more in any border of Israel; so shall I escape from his hand.

⁴⁹ And that bringeth me forth from my enemies: thou also hast lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.

or who is a rock save our God? ³³ (18:32)It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect. ³⁴ (18:33)He maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and setteth me upon my high places. ³⁵ (18:34)He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by my arms. ³⁶ (18:35)Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath held me up and thy gentleness hath made me great. ³⁷ (18:36)Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip. ³⁸ (18:37)I have pursued my enemies, and overtaken them: neither did I turn again till they were consumed. ³⁹ (18:38)I have wounded them that they were not able to rise: they have fallen under my feet. ⁴⁰ (18:39)For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me. ⁴¹ (18:40)Thou hast also given me the necks of my enemies; that I might destroy them that hate me. ⁴² (18:41)They cried, but there was none to save them: even to the LORD, but he answered them not. ⁴³ (18:42)Then I beat them small as the dust before the wind: I cast them out as the dirt in the streets. ⁴⁴ (18:43)Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people; and thou hast made me the head of the heathen: a people whom I have not known shall serve me. ⁴⁵ (18:44)As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves to me. ⁴⁶ (18:45)The strangers shall fade away, and be afraid from their close places. ⁴⁷ (18:46)The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted. ⁴⁸ (18:47)It is God that avengeth me, and subdueth the people under me. ⁴⁹ (18:48)He delivereth me from my enemies: yes, thou liftest me up above those that rise up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man. ⁵⁰ (18:49)Therefore will I give thanks to thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and sing praises to thy name.

¹⁹ (34:18)The LORD is nigh to them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as are of a contrite spirit.

¹⁴ Offer to God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows to the Most High:

¹ A Psalm of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. ² Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: ³ Who forgiveth all thy iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; ⁴ Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with loving-kindness and tender mercies; ⁵ Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's. ⁶ The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.

¹ I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. ² Because he hath inclined his ear to me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live. ³ The sorrows of death encompassed me, and the pains of hell came upon me: I found trouble and sorrow. ⁴ Then I called upon the name of the LORD; O LORD, I beseech thee, deliver my soul. ⁵ Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; yes, our God is merciful. ⁶ The LORD preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me. ⁷ Return to thy rest, O my soul; for the LORD hath dealt bountifully with thee. ⁸ For thou hast delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from falling. ⁹ I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living. ¹⁰ I believed, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted: ¹¹ I said in my haste, All men are liars. ¹² What shall I render to the LORD for all his benefits towards me? ¹³ I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD. ¹⁴ I will pay my vows to the LORD now in the presence of all his people. ¹⁵ Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. ¹⁶ O LORD, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, the son of thy handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds. ¹⁷ I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD. ¹⁸ I will pay my vows to the LORD now in the presence of all his people, ¹⁹ In the courts of the LORD'S house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye the LORD.

¹ And in that day thou shalt say, O LORD, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thy anger is turned away, and thou hast comforted me. ² Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. ³ Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation. ⁴ And in that day shall ye say, Praise the LORD, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted. ⁵ Sing to the LORD; for he hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth. ⁶ Cry aloud and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee.

¹⁰ Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us:

¹⁸ And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me to his heavenly kingdom; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

⁹ After this I beheld, and lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and languages, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; ¹⁰ And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God who sitteth upon the throne, and to the Lamb. ¹¹ And all the angels stood around the throne, and about the elders and the four living beings, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshiped God, ¹² Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, be to our God for ever and ever. Amen. ¹³ And one of the elders answered, saying to me, Who are these that are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? ¹⁴ And I said to him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they who came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. ¹⁵ Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne will dwell among them. ¹⁶ They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. ¹⁷ For the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will feed them, and will lead them to living fountains of waters: and God will wipe away all tears from their eyes.
