² When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain others of them, should go to Jerusalem to the apostles and elders about this question.

²³ If thou shalt do this thing, and God command thee so, then thou shalt be able to endure, and all this people shall also go to their place in peace.

⁷ And the LORD said to Samuel, Hearken to the voice of the people in all that they say to thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.

²³ Then he called them in, and lodged them. And on the morrow Peter went with them, and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied him.

¹² And the Spirit bade me go with them, nothing doubting. Moreover, these six brethren accompanied me, and we entered into the man's house:

³⁰ Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.

⁴ And when they had come to Jerusalem, they were received by the church, and by the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that God had done with them.

⁶ And the apostles and elders came together to consider of this matter. ⁷ And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose and said to them, Men, brethren, ye know that a good while ago, God made choice among us, that the Gentiles, by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

²² Then it pleased the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch, with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren: ²³ And they wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles, and elders, and brethren, send greeting to the brethren who are of the Gentiles in Antioch, and Syria, and Cilicia.

²⁵ It seemed good to us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men to you, with our beloved Barnabas and Paul:

²⁷ We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who will also tell you the same things by mouth.

⁴ And as they went through the cities, they delivered to them the decrees to keep that were ordained by the apostles and elders who were at Jerusalem.

¹⁸ And the day following Paul went in with us to James: and all the elders were present.

¹ Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,

¹⁹ For though I am free from all men, yet I have made myself servant to all, that I might gain the more. ²⁰ And to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; ²¹ To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law. ²² To the weak I became as weak, that I might gain the weak: I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. ²³ And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I may be partaker of it with you.

⁵ For I suppose I was not a whit behind the very greatest apostles.

⁶ I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ, to another gospel: ⁷ Which is not another; but there are some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. ⁸ But though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach any other gospel to you than that which we have preached to you, let him be accursed. ⁹ As we said before, so I say now again, If any man preacheth any other gospel to you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. ¹⁰ For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

¹ Then fourteen years after I went again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took Titus with me also. ² And I went by revelation, and communicated to them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them who were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run in vain.

⁵ To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.

⁸ Wherefore, though I might be very bold in Christ to enjoin thee that which is convenient. ⁹ Yet for love's sake I rather beseech thee, being such one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.

³ Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write to you concerning the common salvation, it was needful for me to write to you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith, which was once delivered to the saints.
