⁶ For to us a child is born, to us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

⁹ O Zion, that bringest good tidings, go up upon the high mountain: O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say to the cities of Judah, Behold your God! ¹⁰ Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm will rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him. ¹¹ He will feed his flock like a shepherd: he will gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and will gently lead those that are with young.

²³ Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

⁹ And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

⁶ Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

¹⁶ And without controversy, great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached to the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

¹ Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Savior Jesus Christ:

¹ That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the word of life; ² (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and testify, and show to you that eternal life which was with the Father, and was manifested to us;)

⁷ For there are three that bear testimony in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit, and these three are one.

²⁰ And we know that the Son of God hath come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

² Who bore testimony of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.

⁸ I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.

¹¹ Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia; to Ephesus, and to Smyrna, and to Pergamos, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.

³² A light to enlighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.

⁸ He was not that Light, but was sent to bear testimony of that Light. ⁹ That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

²¹ For as the Father raiseth the dead, and reviveth them; even so the Son reviveth whom he will.

¹¹ And this is the testimony, that God hath given to us eternal life: and this life is in his Son.

¹ And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

¹⁹ And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men have loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. ²⁰ For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

³⁶ While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. ¹⁴ But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness to him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

³ The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. ⁴ Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain. ⁵ And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh together shall see it: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

¹ Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, will suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he will come, saith the LORD of hosts.

⁵ Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: ⁶ And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

²⁵ The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or from men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, if we shall say, From heaven; he will say to us, Why then did ye not believe him?

And he said to them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely, and be content with your wages. ¹⁵ And as the people were in expectation, and all men mused in their hearts concerning John, whether he was the Christ, or not; ¹⁶ John answered, saying to them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit, and with fire: ¹⁷ Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his floor, and will gather the wheat into his granary; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable. ¹⁸ And many other things in his exhortation he preached to the people. ¹⁹ But Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him on account of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife, and for all the evils which Herod had done, ²⁰ Added yet this above all, that he shut up John in prison.

³³ And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said to me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending and remaining on him, the same is he who baptizeth with the Holy Spirit.

²⁸ Ye yourselves bear me testimony, that I said I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.

²⁴ John having first preached, before his coming, the baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel.

⁹ That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

¹² But as many as received him, to them he gave power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

¹⁵ John testified concerning him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spoke, He that cometh after me, is preferred before me; for he was before me.

¹⁹ And this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem, to ask him, Who art thou?

²⁶ John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not; ²⁷ He it is, who coming after me, is preferred before me, whose shoes' latchet I am not worthy to unloose.

³² And John bore testimony, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. ³³ And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said to me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending and remaining on him, the same is he who baptizeth with the Holy Spirit. ³⁴ And I saw and bore testimony, that this is the Son of God.

³⁶ And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!

²⁶ And they came to John, and said to him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou didst bear testimony, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him. ²⁷ John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. ²⁸ Ye yourselves bear me testimony, that I said I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him. ²⁹ He that hath the bride, is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, who standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly, because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. ³⁰ He must increase, but I must decrease. ³¹ He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all. ³² And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony. ³³ He that hath received his testimony, hath set to his seal that God is true. ³⁴ For he whom God hath sent, speaketh the words of God: for to him God giveth not the Spirit by measure. ³⁵ The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. ³⁶ He that believeth on the Son, hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son, shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

³³ Ye sent to John, and he testified to the truth. ³⁴ But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye may be saved. ³⁵ He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.

⁴ Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying to the people, That they should believe on him who should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

⁴ Who will have all men to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

¹¹ For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

⁹ The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

²⁰ And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.

²⁰ To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

⁶ And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldst be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation to the end of the earth.

²³ But if thy eye be evil, thy whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee is darkness, how great is that darkness!

⁴ In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

⁷ The same came for a witness, to bear testimony of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

³² Then Jesus said to them, Verily, verily, I say to you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.

¹² And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, No; but he deceiveth the people.

¹ I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

⁴ But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. ⁵ Ye are all children of light, and children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. ⁶ Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. ⁷ For they that sleep, sleep in the night; and they that are drunken, are drunken in the night.

⁸ If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

⁸ Again, a new commandment I write to you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.

⁶ And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. ⁷ Come, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. ⁸ So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. ⁹ Therefore is the name of it called Babel, because the LORD there confounded the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

¹³ And she called the name of the LORD that spoke to her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me?

¹ And when Abram was ninety and nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said to him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

³³ And the LORD went his way, as soon as he had left communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned to his place.

⁴ And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I. ⁵ And he said, Approach not hither: put off thy shoes from thy feet, for the place on which thou standest is holy ground. ⁶ Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face: for he was afraid to look upon God.

¹¹ Thus shall ye say to them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens. ¹² He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.

²⁷ All things are delivered to me by my Father; and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

⁵ And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

¹⁷ But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.

²⁵ O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.

¹⁷ Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.

²⁴ God that made the world, and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; ²⁵ Neither is worshiped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; ²⁶ And hath made of one blood all nations of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; ²⁷ That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he is not far from every one of us:

²¹ For when in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

⁸ Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

³ Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which appeared.

¹ Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

² For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. ³ He is despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

²⁴ But he answered and said, I am not sent but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

¹⁴ But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.

¹³ Then said the lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be when they see him they will reverence him. ¹⁴ But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours. ¹⁵ So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do to them?

³² And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.

²⁵ Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. ²⁶ To you first, God having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

⁵¹ Ye stiff-necked, and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Spirit: as your fathers did, so do ye. ⁵² Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them who showed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers;

²⁶ Men, brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent.

⁴⁶ Then Paul and Barnabas became bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first be spoken to you: but seeing ye reject it, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.

¹ I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me testimony in the Holy Spirit,

⁸ Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made to the fathers:

⁴ But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,

⁵ Even to them will I give in my house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.

¹⁹ But I said, How shall I put thee among the children, and give thee a pleasant land, a goodly heritage of the hosts of nations? and I said, Thou shalt call me, My father; and shalt not turn away from me.

¹⁰ Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said to them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said to them, Ye are the sons of the living God.

⁴⁰ He that receiveth you, receiveth me, and he that receiveth me, receiveth him that sent me.

²¹ And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.

⁵ And whoever shall receive one such little child in my name, receiveth me.

²³ Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he performed.

¹⁸ He that believeth on him, is not condemned: but he that believeth not, is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only-begotten Son of God.

⁵² And not for that nation only, but that also he should assemble in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.

³¹ But these are written, that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing ye may have life through his name.

¹⁶ And his name, through faith in his name, hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yes, the faith which is by him, hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

¹⁴ For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

¹⁷ Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you; ¹⁸ And I will be a Father to you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

²⁶ For ye are all children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

⁶ And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

⁶ As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:

⁴ Whereby are given to us exceeding great and precious promises; that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

²³ And this is his commandment; That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.

¹² He that hath the Son, hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God, hath not life. ¹³ These things have I written to you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

²² And the children struggled together within her: and she said, If it is so, why am I thus? And she went to inquire of the LORD.

²⁸ And Isaac loved Esau, because he ate of his venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob.

⁴ And make me savory meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die.

³³ And Isaac trembled exceedingly, and said, Who? where is he that hath taken venison, and brought it me, and I have eaten of all before thou camest, and have blessed him? yea, and he shall be blessed.

³ Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness: from the womb of the morning, thou hast the dew of thy youth.

⁹ And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham for our father: for I say to you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children to Abraham.

³ Jesus answered and said to him, Verily, verily, I say to thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

⁵ Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say to thee, Except a man be born of water, and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. ⁶ That which is born of the flesh, is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit, is spirit. ⁷ Marvel not that I said to thee, Ye must be born again. ⁸ The wind bloweth where it will, and thou hearest the sound of it, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

³³ They answered him, We are Abraham's offspring, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? ³⁴ Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say to you, Whoever committeth sin, is the servant of sin. ³⁵ And the servant abideth not in the house for ever, but the Son abideth for ever. ³⁶ If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. ³⁷ I know that ye are Abraham's offspring; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you. ³⁸ I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father. ³⁹ They answered and said to him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith to them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham. ⁴⁰ But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard from God: this did not Abraham. ⁴¹ Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We are not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.

¹ I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me testimony in the Holy Spirit, ² That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart. ³ For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ, for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh: ⁴ Who are Israelites; to whom pertain the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises; ⁵ Whose are the fathers, and from whom according to the flesh, Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.

⁷ Neither because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. ⁸ That is, They who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God; but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. ⁹ For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sarah shall have a son. ¹⁰ And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac, ¹¹ (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God, according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth) ¹² It was said to her, The elder shall serve the younger. ¹³ As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated. ¹⁴ What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? By no means. ¹⁵ For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. ¹⁶ So then, it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that showeth mercy.

¹ Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they may be saved. ² For I bear them testimony that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. ³ For they, being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves to the righteousness of God.

⁶ I have planted, Apollos watered: but God hath given the increase.

¹³ For it is God who worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

⁵ Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Spirit;

¹⁸ Of his own will he hath begotten us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first-fruits of his creatures.

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again to a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

²³ Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

² As new-born babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

²⁸ And now, little children, abide in him; that when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. ²⁹ If ye know that he is righteous ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.

⁹ Whoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

⁷ Beloved, let us love one another: for love is from God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

¹ Whoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ, is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat, loveth him also that is begotten by him.

⁴ For whatever is born of God, overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

¹⁸ We know that whoever is born of God, sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God, keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

⁷ I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said to me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

⁵ And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh together shall see it: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

¹ Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. ² For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD will arise upon thee, and his glory will be seen upon thee.

¹ And after six days, Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them upon a high mountain apart. ² And he was transfigured before them: and his face shone as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. ³ And behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elijah talking with him. ⁴ Then answered Peter, and said to Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah. ⁵ While he was yet speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold, a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased: hear ye him.

³¹ And behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. ³² He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David. ³³ And he will reign over the house of Jacob for ever, and of his kingdom there will be no end. ³⁴ Then said Mary to the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? ³⁵ And the angel answered and said to her, The Holy Spirit will come upon thee, and the power of the Highest will overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

⁷ And she brought forth her first-born son, and wrapped him in swaddling-clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

¹¹ For to you is born this day, in the city of David, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

³² But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him.

¹ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

¹⁶ And of his fullness have we all received, and grace for grace. ¹⁷ For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. ¹⁸ No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

¹¹ This beginning of miracles Jesus performed in Cana of Galilee, and manifested his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

¹⁶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only-begotten Son, that whoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.

⁵¹ I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man shall eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

⁴⁰ Jesus saith to her, Said I not to thee, that if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?

⁴⁰ He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them. ⁴¹ These things said Isaiah, when he saw his glory, and spoke of him.

⁹ Jesus saith to him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me Philip? he that hath seen me, hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?

²² And the glory which thou gavest to me, I have given to them; that they may be one, even as we are one.

³³ God hath fulfilled the same to us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.

³ Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh. ⁴ And declared to be the Son of God, with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

³ For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

⁴⁷ The first man is from the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.

⁴ In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them who believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine to them. ⁵ For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. ⁶ For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined into our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

⁹ And he said to me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

⁸ To me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

¹⁸ May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and highth. ¹⁹ And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye may be filled with all the fullness of God.

⁶ Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: ⁷ But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: ⁸ And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient to death, even the death of the cross.

¹⁹ For it pleased the Father that in him should all fullness dwell;

³ In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

⁹ For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.

¹⁴ And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. ¹⁶ However, for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show forth all long-suffering, for a pattern to them who should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

³ Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself made purification of our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

⁵ For to which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

¹¹ For both he that sanctifieth, and they who are sanctified, are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,

¹⁴ Since then the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; ¹⁵ And deliver them, who, through fear of death, were all their life-time subject to bondage. ¹⁶ For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. ¹⁷ Wherefore in all things it behooved him to be made like his brethren; that he might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

⁵ So also Christ glorified not himself to be made a high priest; but he that said to him, Thou art my Son, to-day have I begotten thee.

⁵ Wherefore, when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldst not, but a body hast thou prepared me:

⁴ To whom coming as to a living stone, disallowed indeed by men, but chosen by God, and precious, ⁵ Ye also, as living stones, are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. ⁶ Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner-stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. ⁷ To you therefore who believe he is precious: but to them who are disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,

¹⁶ For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eye-witnesses of his majesty. ¹⁷ For he received from God the Father honor and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

² By this ye know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ hath come in the flesh, is from God: ³ And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, is not from God. And this is that spirit of antichrist, of which ye have heard that it should come; and even now already it is in the world.

⁹ In this was manifested the love of God towards us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

¹⁴ And we have seen and do testify, that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.

⁷ For many deceivers have entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver, and an antichrist.

³ And I heard a great voice out of heaven, saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself will be with them, and be their God.

²² The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.

² (5:3)Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she who travaileth hath brought forth: then the remnant of his brethren shall return to the children of Israel.

¹¹ I indeed baptize you with water to repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit, and with fire:

¹³ Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan to John, to be baptized by him. ¹⁴ But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized by thee, and comest thou to me? ¹⁵ And Jesus answering said to him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness. Then he suffered him. ¹⁶ And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up immediately out of the water: and lo, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: ¹⁷ And lo, a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

⁷ And preached, saying, There cometh after me one mightier than I, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose.

¹⁶ John answered, saying to them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit, and with fire:

¹ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ² The same was in the beginning with God.

⁷ The same came for a witness, to bear testimony of the Light, that all men through him might believe. ⁸ He was not that Light, but was sent to bear testimony of that Light.

²⁷ He it is, who coming after me, is preferred before me, whose shoes' latchet I am not worthy to unloose.

²⁹ The next day John seeth Jesus coming to him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, who taketh away the sin of the world. ³⁰ This is he of whom I said, after me cometh a man who is preferred before me; for he was before me. ³¹ And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.

³³ Ye sent to John, and he testified to the truth. ³⁴ But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye may be saved. ³⁵ He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light. ³⁶ But I have greater testimony than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear testimony concerning me, that the Father hath sent me.

⁵⁸ Jesus said to them, Verily, verily, I say to you, Before Abraham was, I am.

⁶ Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: ⁷ But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

¹⁷ And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying to me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: ¹⁸ I am he that liveth, and was dead; and behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

⁷ Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth its head-stone with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace, to it.

¹⁴ But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized by thee, and comest thou to me?

¹² For whoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that which he hath.

¹⁵ For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

³⁴ For he whom God hath sent, speaketh the words of God: for to him God giveth not the Spirit by measure.

¹ I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. ² Every branch in me that beareth not fruit, he taketh away; and every branch that beareth fruit, he cleaneth it, that it my bring forth more fruit. ³ Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken to you. ⁴ Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine: no more can ye, except ye abide in me. ⁵ I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

¹² And when Peter saw it, he answered to the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk? ¹³ The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go. ¹⁴ But ye denied the Holy One, and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted to you, ¹⁵ And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; of which we are witnesses. ¹⁶ And his name, through faith in his name, hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yes, the faith which is by him, hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

² By whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

¹⁷ For if by one man's offense death reigned by one; much more they who receive abundance of grace, and of the gift of righteousness, shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.

²⁰ Moreover the law entered, that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:

⁹ But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if the Spirit of God dwelleth in you. Now if any man hath not the Spirit of Christ, he is not his.

⁴ I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; ⁵ That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge; ⁶ To the praise of the glory of his grace, in which he hath made us accepted in the beloved: ⁷ In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; ⁸ In which he hath abounded towards us in all wisdom and prudence;

²³ Which is his body, the fullness of him that filleth all in all.

⁵ Even when we were dead in sins, hath made us alive together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) ⁶ And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places, in Christ Jesus: ⁷ That in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness towards us, through Christ Jesus. ⁸ For by grace are ye saved, through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: ⁹ Not by works, lest any man should boast. ¹⁰ For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

¹⁹ And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye may be filled with all the fullness of God.

⁷ But to every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. ⁸ Wherefore he saith, When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men. ⁹ Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? ¹⁰ He that descended is the same also that ascended far above all heavens, that he might fill all things. ¹¹ And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; ¹² For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: ¹³ Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:

⁹ For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. ¹⁰ And ye are complete in him, who is the head of all principality and power:

² Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, to obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you, and peace, be multiplied.

¹¹ Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.

¹⁵ And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed: it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

¹⁸ And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed: because thou hast obeyed my voice.

¹ And God spoke all these words, saying, ² I am the LORD thy God, who have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. ³ Thou shalt have no other gods before me. ⁴ Thou shalt not make to thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: ⁵ Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; ⁶ And showing mercy to thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. ⁷ Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. ⁸ Remember the sabbath-day to keep it holy. ⁹ Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work: ¹⁰ But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy man-servant, nor thy maid-servant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: ¹¹ For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath-day, and hallowed it. ¹² Honor thy father and thy mother; that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. ¹³ Thou shalt not kill. ¹⁴ Thou shalt not commit adultery. ¹⁵ Thou shalt not steal. ¹⁶ Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor. ¹⁷ Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife, nor his man-servant, nor his maid-servant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbor's.

⁴⁴ And this is the law which Moses set before the children of Israel.

¹ And Moses called all Israel, and said to them, Hear, O Israel, the statutes and judgments which I speak in your ears this day, that ye may learn them, and keep, and do them.

⁴ Moses commanded us a law; even the inheritance of the congregation of Jacob.

¹⁰ (85:9)Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.

³ He hath remembered his mercy and his truth towards the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

²⁰ Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, which thou hast sworn to our fathers from the days of old.

⁵⁴ He hath sustained his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy; ⁵⁵ As he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever.

⁶⁸ Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people. ⁶⁹ And hath raised up a horn of salvation for us, in the house of his servant David: ⁷⁰ As he spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets, who have been since the world began: ⁷¹ That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us; ⁷² To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant: ⁷³ The oath which he swore to our father Abraham, ⁷⁴ That he would grant to us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies, might serve him without fear, ⁷⁵ In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life. ⁷⁶ And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest, for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways; ⁷⁷ To give knowledge of salvation to his people, by the remission of their sins,

⁴⁵ Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.

¹⁹ Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?

³² And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

²⁹ We know that God spoke to Moses: as for this man, we know not whence he is.

³⁸ This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel who spoke to him on the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the living oracles to give to us:

³⁴ And as concerning that he raised him from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David. ³⁵ Wherefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou wilt not suffer thy Holy One to see corruption. ³⁶ For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell asleep, and was laid to his fathers, and saw corruption: ³⁷ But he whom God raised again, saw no corruption. ³⁸ Be it known to you therefore, men, brethren, that through this man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; ³⁹ And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

²³ And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.

¹⁹ Now we know that whatever things the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. ²⁰ Therefore by the deeds of the law, there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. ²¹ But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being testified by the law and the prophets; ²² Even the righteousness of God, which is by faith of Jesus Christ to all, and upon all them that believe; for there is no difference: ²³ For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; ²⁴ Being justified freely by his grace, through the redemption that is in Jesus Christ: ²⁵ Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation, through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; ²⁶ To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he may be just, and the justifier of him who believeth in Jesus.

²⁰ Moreover the law entered, that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: ²¹ That as sin hath reigned to death, even so might grace reign through righteousness to eternal life, by Jesus Christ our Lord.

¹⁴ For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

⁸ Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made to the fathers: ⁹ And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing to thy name. ¹⁰ And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people. ¹¹ And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and laud him, all ye people. ¹² And again Isaiah saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.

²⁰ For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, to the glory of God by us.

⁷ But if the ministration of death, written and engraven on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not steadfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away; ⁸ How shall not the ministration of the Spirit be rather glorious? ⁹ For if the ministration of condemnation was glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. ¹⁰ For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth.

¹⁰ For as many as are of the works of the law, are under the curse: for it is written, Accursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. ¹¹ But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. ¹² And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live by them. ¹³ Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Accursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

¹⁷ And this I say, that the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of no effect.

⁵ And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were afterwards to be spoken. ⁶ But Christ as a son over his own house: whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence, and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.

⁸ For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: ⁹ Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers, in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. ¹⁰ For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: ¹¹ And they shall not teach every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. ¹² For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

²² And almost all things are by the law cleansed with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

⁴ For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. ⁵ Wherefore, when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldst not, but a body hast thou prepared me: ⁶ In burnt-offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. ⁷ Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written concerning me,) to do thy will, O God. ⁸ Above, when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt-offerings and offering for sin thou wouldst not, neither hadst pleasure in them; which are offered by the law; ⁹ Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. ¹⁰ By which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

³⁹ And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: ⁴⁰ God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

⁸ And when he had taken the book, the four living beings, and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odors, which are the prayers of saints. ⁹ And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals of it: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and language, and people, and nation; ¹⁰ And hast made us to our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

⁹ After this I beheld, and lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and languages, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; ¹⁰ And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God who sitteth upon the throne, and to the Lamb. ¹¹ And all the angels stood around the throne, and about the elders and the four living beings, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshiped God, ¹² Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, be to our God for ever and ever. Amen. ¹³ And one of the elders answered, saying to me, Who are these that are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? ¹⁴ And I said to him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they who came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. ¹⁵ Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne will dwell among them. ¹⁶ They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. ¹⁷ For the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will feed them, and will lead them to living fountains of waters: and God will wipe away all tears from their eyes.

²⁸ And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God, and with men, and hast prevailed. ²⁹ And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name: And he said, why is it that thou dost ask after my name? and he blessed him there. ³⁰ And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.

¹⁵ And he blessed Joseph, and said, God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God who hath fed me all my life long to this day, ¹⁶ The angel who hath redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac: and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.

²¹ Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him.

¹⁸ And he said, I beseech thee, show me thy glory. ¹⁹ And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy. ²⁰ And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live. ²¹ And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock: ²² And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a cleft of the rock: and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: ²³ And I will take away my hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.

⁵ And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD. ⁶ And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and abundant in goodness and truth. ⁷ Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, to the third and to the fourth generation.

⁸ With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: why then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?

¹² And the LORD spoke to you out of the midst of the fire: ye heard the voice of the words, but saw no similitude; only ye heard a voice.

¹² And the angel of the LORD appeared to him, and said to him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valor. ¹³ And Gideon said to him, O my Lord, if the LORD is with us, why then hath all this befallen us? and where are all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites. ¹⁴ And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee? ¹⁵ And he said to him, O my Lord, by what means shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house. ¹⁶ And the LORD said to him, Surely I will be with thee, and thou shalt smite the Midianites as one man. ¹⁷ And he said to him, If now I have found grace in thy sight, then show me a sign that thou talkest with me. ¹⁸ Depart not hence, I pray thee, until I come to thee, and bring forth my present, and set it before thee. And he said, I will tarry until thou comest again. ¹⁹ And Gideon went in, and made ready a kid, and unleavened cakes of an ephah of flour: the flesh he put in a basket, and he put the broth in a pot, and brought it out to him under the oak, and presented it. ²⁰ And the angel of God said to him, Take the flesh and the unleavened cakes, and lay them upon this rock, and pour out the broth. And he did so. ²¹ Then the angel of the LORD put forth the end of the staff that was in his hand, and touched the flesh and the unleavened cakes; and there rose fire out of the rock, and consumed the flesh and the unleavened cakes. Then the angel of the LORD departed from his sight. ²² And when Gideon perceived that he was an angel of the LORD, Gideon said, Alas, O Lord GOD! for because I have seen an angel of the LORD face to face. ²³ And the LORD said to him, Peace be to thee; fear not: thou shalt not die. ²⁴ Then Gideon built an altar there to the LORD, and called it Jehovah-shalom: to this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abi-ezrites. ²⁵ And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said to him, Take thy father's young bullock, even the second bullock of seven years old, and throw down the altar of Baal that thy father hath, and cut down the grove that is by it: ²⁶ And build an altar to the LORD thy God upon the top of this rock, in the ordered place, and take the second bullock, and offer a burnt-sacrifice with the wood of the grove which thou shalt cut down.

²⁰ For it came to pass, when the flame ascended towards heaven from off the altar, that the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame of the altar. And Manoah and his wife looked on it, and fell on their faces to the ground. ²¹ But the angel of the LORD did no more appear to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah knew that he was an angel of the LORD. ²² And Manoah said to his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God. ²³ But his wife said to him, If the LORD were pleased to kill us, he would not have received a burnt-offering and a meat-offering at our hands, neither would he have showed us all these things, nor would, as at this time, have told us such things as these.

³⁰ Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;

¹ In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and elevated, and his train filled the temple. ² Above it stood seraphim: each one had six wings; with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. ³ And one cried to another, and said, Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

¹¹ He will feed his flock like a shepherd: he will gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and will gently lead those that are with young.

¹² They say to their mothers, Where is corn and wine? when they swooned as the wounded in the streets of the city, when their soul was poured out into their mothers' bosom.

²⁶ And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it. ²⁷ And I saw as the color of amber, as the appearance of fire around within it, from the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of his loins even downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness on all sides. ²⁸ As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness around. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one speaking.

³ (12:2)The LORD hath also a controversy with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his doings will he recompense him. ⁴ (12:3)He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with God: ⁵ (12:4)Yes, he had power over the angel, and prevailed: he wept, and made supplication to him: he found him in Beth-el, and there he spoke with us;

²² All things are delivered to me by my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.

²² And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by angels into Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died, and was buried: ²³ And in hell he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

¹⁶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only-begotten Son, that whoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. ¹⁷ For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him may be saved. ¹⁸ He that believeth on him, is not condemned: but he that believeth not, is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only-begotten Son of God.

⁴⁶ Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he who is from God, he hath seen the Father.

⁴¹ These things said Isaiah, when he saw his glory, and spoke of him.

²³ Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom, one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.

⁶ I have manifested thy name to the men whom thou gavest to me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them to me; and they have kept thy word.

²⁶ And I have declared to them thy name, and will declare it: that the love with which thou hast loved me, may be in them, and I in them.

¹⁵ Who is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of every creature:

¹⁷ Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, God the only wise, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

¹⁶ Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honor and power everlasting. Amen.

¹² No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

²⁰ If a man sayeth, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar. For he that loveth not his brother, whom he hath seen, how can he love God, whom he hath not seen?

⁹ And thou shalt come to the priests the Levites, and to the judge that shall be in those days, and inquire; and they shall show thee the sentence of judgment: ¹⁰ And thou shalt do according to the sentence, which they of that place which the LORD shall choose shall show thee; and thou shalt observe to do according to all that they inform thee: ¹¹ According to the sentence of the law which they shall teach thee, and according to the judgment which they shall tell thee, thou shalt do: thou shalt not decline from the sentence which they shall show thee, to the right hand, nor to the left.

⁸ Take heed in the plague of leprosy, that thou observe diligently, and do according to all that the priests the Levites shall teach you: as I commanded them, so ye shall observe to do.

²³ And when he had come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things; and who gave thee this authority? ²⁴ And Jesus answered and said to them, I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me, I also will tell you by what authority I do these things. ²⁵ The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or from men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, if we shall say, From heaven; he will say to us, Why then did ye not believe him? ²⁶ But if we shall say, From men; we fear the people: for all hold John as a prophet. ²⁷ And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said to them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things. ²⁸ But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go, work to-day in my vineyard. ²⁹ He answered and said, I will not; but afterward he repented, and went. ³⁰ And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not. ³¹ Which of the two did the will of his father? They say to him, The first. Jesus saith to them, Verily I say to you, that the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you. ³² For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.

¹⁵ And as the people were in expectation, and all men mused in their hearts concerning John, whether he was the Christ, or not; ¹⁶ John answered, saying to them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit, and with fire: ¹⁷ Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his floor, and will gather the wheat into his granary; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable. ¹⁸ And many other things in his exhortation he preached to the people.

¹⁸ Then answered the Jews, and said to him, What sign showest thou to us, seeing that thou doest these things?

¹⁰ The Jews therefore said to him that was cured, it is the sabbath; it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.

⁴¹ The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven.

⁵² The Jews therefore contended among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?

²⁴ Then came the Jews around him, and said to him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou art the Christ, tell us plainly.

²⁵ And as John fulfilled his course, he said, Whom think ye that I am? I am not he. But behold, there cometh one after me, whose shoes of his feet I am not worthy to loose.

¹¹ I indeed baptize you with water to repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit, and with fire: ¹² Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his floor, and gather his wheat into the granary; but he will burn the chaff with unquenchable fire.

¹⁵ The LORD thy God will raise up to thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like to me; to him ye shall hearken. ¹⁶ According to all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I may not die. ¹⁷ And the LORD said to me, They have well spoken of that which they have spoken. ¹⁸ I will raise up to them a prophet from among their brethren, like thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak to them all that I shall command him.

⁵ Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:

⁹ But what went ye out to see? A prophet? yes, I say to you, and more than a prophet. ¹⁰ For this is he concerning whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way before thee. ¹¹ Verily, I say to you, among them that are born of women, there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding, he that is least in the kingdom of heaven, is greater than he.

¹⁴ And if ye will receive it, this is Elijah who was to come.

¹⁴ And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some Elijah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.

¹⁰ And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes, that Elijah must first come? ¹¹ And Jesus answered and said to them, Elijah truly will first come, and restore all things: ¹² But I say to you, that Elijah is come already, and they knew him not, but have done to him whatever they pleased: likewise will also the Son of man suffer by them.

¹⁷ And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

²⁵ And they asked him, and said to him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou art not that Christ, nor Elijah, neither that prophet?

⁴⁰ Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, In truth this is the Prophet.

¹³ So Gad came to David, and told him, and said to him, Shall seven years of famine come upon thee in thy land? or wilt thou flee three months before thy enemies, while they pursue thee? or that there be three days' pestilence in thy land? Now consider, and see what answer I shall return to him that sent me.

¹³ But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees! hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering, to go in. ¹⁴ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretense make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation. ¹⁵ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him two-fold more the child of hell than yourselves.

²⁶ Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.

³⁰ But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized by him.

³⁹ And the Lord said to him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness. ⁴⁰ Ye fools, did not he that made that which is without, make that which is within also? ⁴¹ But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and behold, all things are clean to you. ⁴² But woe to you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint, and rue, and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the others undone. ⁴³ Woe to you, Pharisees! for ye love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets. ⁴⁴ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.

⁵³ And as he said these things to them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to urge him vehemently, and to solicit him to speak of many things;

¹ There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: ² The same came to Jesus by night, and said to him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

⁴⁷ Then the Pharisees answered them, Are ye also deceived? ⁴⁸ Have any of the rulers, or of the Pharisees believed on him? ⁴⁹ But this people who know not the law are cursed.

⁸ For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both.

⁵ Who knew me from the beginning, (if they would testify) that after the strictest sect of our religion, I lived a Pharisee.

²⁴ Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. ²⁵ Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem to the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and sixty and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. ²⁶ And after sixty and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and its end shall be with a flood, and to the end of the war desolations are determined.

²⁰ And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ. ²¹ And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elijah? and he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No. ²² Then said they to him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?

⁵ And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers, and elders, and scribes, ⁶ And Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were assembled at Jerusalem. ⁷ And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name have ye done this?

²⁸ Saying, Did we not strictly command you, that ye should not teach in this name? and behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.

¹ Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, will suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he will come, saith the LORD of hosts. ² But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fuller's soap.

⁸ I indeed have baptized you with water: but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.

¹⁰ He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. ¹¹ He came to his own, and his own received him not.

¹⁹ Then said they to him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye would have known my Father also.

³ And these things will they do to you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.

³ And this is life eternal, that they may know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent.

⁵ For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days hence.

³⁰ This is he of whom I said, after me cometh a man who is preferred before me; for he was before me.

²⁴ And Gideon sent messengers throughout all mount Ephraim, saying, Come down against the Midianites, and take before them the waters to Beth-barah and Jordan. Then all the men of Ephraim assembled, and took the waters to Beth-barah and Jordan.

²³ And John also was baptizing in Enon, near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.

²⁶ And they came to John, and said to him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou didst bear testimony, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him.

⁴⁰ And went again beyond Jordan, into the place where John at first baptized; and there he abode.

⁵ Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?

⁷ And Isaac spoke to Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt-offering? ⁸ And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt-offering: so they went both of them together.

³ Speak ye to all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for a house: ⁴ And if the household shall be too small for the lamb, let him and his neighbor next to his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb. ⁵ Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it from the sheep or from the goats: ⁶ And ye shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening. ⁷ And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side-posts, and on the upper door-post of the houses, in which they shall eat it. ⁸ And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roasted with fire; and unleavened bread, and with bitter herbs they shall eat it. ⁹ Eat not of it raw, nor boiled at all with water, but roasted with fire; its head with its legs, and with its entrails. ¹⁰ And ye shall let nothing of it remain till the morning: and that which remaineth of it till the morning ye shall burn with fire. ¹¹ And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand: and ye shall eat it in haste; it is the LORD'S passover. ¹² For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the first-born in the land of Egypt, both man and beast: and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD. ¹³ And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.

³⁸ And it shall be upon Aaron's forehead, that Aaron may bear the iniquity of the holy things, which the children of Israel shall hallow in all their holy gifts; and it shall be always upon his forehead, that they may be accepted before the LORD.

¹⁷ Why have ye not eaten the sin-offering in the holy place, seeing it is most holy, and God hath given it you to bear the iniquity of the congregation, to make atonement for them before the LORD?

²¹ And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness: ²² And the goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities to a land not inhabited: and he shall let go the goat in the wilderness.

¹ And the LORD said to Aaron, Thou and thy sons and thy father's house with thee shall bear the iniquity of the sanctuary: and thou and thy sons with thee shall bear the iniquity of your priesthood.

²³ But the Levites shall do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they shall bear their iniquity: It shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations, that among the children of Israel they have no inheritance.

³ And thou shalt say to them, This is the offering made by fire which ye shall offer to the LORD; two lambs of the first year without spot day by day, for a continual burnt-offering. ⁴ The one lamb shalt thou offer in the morning, and the other lamb shalt thou offer at evening. ⁵ And a tenth part of an ephah of flour for a meat-offering, mingled with a fourth part of a hin of beaten oil. ⁶ It is a continual burnt-offering, which was ordained in mount Sinai for a sweet savor, a sacrifice made by fire to the LORD. ⁷ And the drink-offering of it shall be the fourth part of a hin for the one lamb: in the holy place shalt thou cause the strong wine to be poured to the LORD for a drink-offering. ⁸ And the other lamb shalt thou offer at evening; as the meat-offering of the morning, and as the drink-offering of it, thou shalt offer it, a sacrifice made by fire, of a sweet savor to the LORD. ⁹ And on the sabbath-day two lambs of the first year without spot, and two tenth-parts of flour for a meat-offering, mingled with oil, and its drink-offering. ¹⁰ This is the burnt-offering of every sabbath, besides the continual burnt-offering, and his drink-offering.

⁷ He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he opened not his mouth.

¹¹ He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

² (14:1)O Israel, return to the LORD thy God; for thou hast fallen by thy iniquity.

²¹ And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

²⁸ Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered to, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

³² The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so he opened not his mouth:

³⁹ And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

³ For I delivered to you first of all, that which I also received, that Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures;

²¹ For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

⁴ Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

¹³ Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Accursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

⁶ Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

¹⁴ Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify to himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

¹⁷ Wherefore in all things it behooved him to be made like his brethren; that he might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

²⁸ So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and to them that look for him he will appear the second time without sin to salvation.

¹⁹ But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

²⁴ Who himself bore our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live to righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed.

¹⁸ For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but made alive by the Spirit:

² And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

⁵ And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

¹⁰ In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

⁵ And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first-begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. To him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

⁶ And I beheld, and lo, in the midst of the throne, and of the four living beings, and in the midst of the elders stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns, and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

⁸ And when he had taken the book, the four living beings, and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odors, which are the prayers of saints.

¹² Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing. ¹³ And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying, Blessing, and honor, and glory, and power, be to him that sitteth upon the throne, and to the Lamb for ever and ever.

¹ And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four living beings saying, Come and see.

¹⁶ And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

⁹ After this I beheld, and lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and languages, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; ¹⁰ And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God who sitteth upon the throne, and to the Lamb.

¹⁴ And I said to him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they who came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

¹⁷ For the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will feed them, and will lead them to living fountains of waters: and God will wipe away all tears from their eyes.

¹¹ And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives to the death.

⁸ And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

¹ And I looked, and lo, a lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him a hundred and forty four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.

⁴ These are they who were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they who follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the first-fruits to God and to the Lamb.

¹⁰ The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

³ And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.

¹⁴ These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings; and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

⁷ Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

⁹ And he saith to me, Write, Blessed are they who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith to me, These are the true sayings of God.

⁹ And there came to me one of the seven angels, who had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will show thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.

¹⁴ And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

²² And I saw no temple in it: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. ²³ And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God enlightened it, and the Lamb is the light of it.

²⁷ And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie; but they who are written in the Lamb's book of life.

² But to you that fear my name, shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. ³ And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts. ⁴ Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded to him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments. ⁵ Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:

⁶ And were baptized by him in Jordan, confessing their sins.

³ The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. ⁴ John was baptizing in the wilderness, and preaching the baptism of repentance, for the remission of sins. ⁵ And there went out to him all the land of Judea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.

⁷⁶ And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest, for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways; ⁷⁷ To give knowledge of salvation to his people, by the remission of their sins, ⁷⁸ Through the tender mercy of our God; by which the day-spring from on high hath visited us, ⁷⁹ To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shades of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace. ⁸⁰ And the child grew, and became strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his showing to Israel.

³⁹ And when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth. ⁴⁰ And the child grew, and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him. ⁴¹ Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover. ⁴² And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem according to the custom of the feast.

³ And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance, for the remission of sins; ⁴ As it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

¹⁶ And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up immediately out of the water: and lo, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

¹⁰ And immediately coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him.

²² And the Holy Spirit descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

³² There is another that testifieth concerning me, and I know that the testimony which he beareth concerning me is true.

¹³ Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan to John, to be baptized by him. ¹⁴ But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized by thee, and comest thou to me? ¹⁵ And Jesus answering said to him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

³¹ And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.

⁵ Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say to thee, Except a man be born of water, and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

⁴ And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

⁴⁴ While Peter was yet speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all them who heard the word. ⁴⁵ And they of the circumcision who believed, were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Spirit. ⁴⁶ For they heard them speak in languages and magnify God. Then answered Peter, ⁴⁷ Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, who have received the Holy Spirit as well as we?

¹⁵ And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them, as on us at the beginning. ¹⁶ Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.

² He said to them, Have ye received the Holy Spirit since ye believed? And they said to him, We have not so much as heard whether there is any Holy Spirit. ³ And he said to them, Into what then were ye baptized? And they said, Into John's baptism. ⁴ Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying to the people, That they should believe on him who should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. ⁵ When they heard this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus. ⁶ And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them; and they spoke in languages, and prophesied.

¹³ For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Gentiles, whether bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

⁵ Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Spirit; ⁶ Which he shed on us abundantly, through Jesus Christ our Savior;

²⁶ (89:25)I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers. ²⁷ (89:26)He shall cry to me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.

¹⁷ And lo, a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

³ And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou art the son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

⁶ And saith to him, If thou art the Son of God, cast thyself down, for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall uphold thee, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

²⁹ And behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?

¹⁶ And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

⁵ While he was yet speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold, a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased: hear ye him.

⁶³ But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said to him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou art the Christ the Son of God.

⁴⁰ And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou art the Son of God, come down from the cross.

⁴³ He trusted in God; let him deliver him now if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.

⁵⁴ Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

¹ The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ the Son of God;

¹¹ And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

³⁵ And the angel answered and said to her, The Holy Spirit will come upon thee, and the power of the Highest will overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

⁴⁹ Nathanael answered and said to him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.

²³ That all men should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that honoreth not the Son, honoreth not the Father who hath sent him. ²⁴ Verily, verily, I say to you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but hath passed from death to life. ²⁵ Verily, verily, I say to you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. ²⁶ For as the Father hath life in himself, so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; ²⁷ And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.

⁶⁹ And we believe, and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.

³⁰ I and my Father are one.

³⁶ Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

²⁷ She saith to him, Yes, Lord, I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, who was to come into the world.

⁷ The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

⁴ And declared to be the Son of God, with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

¹⁹ For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me, and Silvanus, and Timothy, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea.

¹ God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, ² Hath in these last days spoken to us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

⁵ For to which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? ⁶ And again, when he bringeth in the first-begotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

²³ Whoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: but he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

⁸ He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

¹⁴ And we have seen and do testify, that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world. ¹⁵ Whoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

⁹ If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater: for this is the testimony of God which he hath testified of his Son. ¹⁰ He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God, hath made him a liar, because he hath not believed the testimony that God gave of his Son. ¹¹ And this is the testimony, that God hath given to us eternal life: and this life is in his Son.

⁹ Whoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

¹⁸ And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;

¹⁶ Then they that feared the LORD spoke often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.

²⁵ Then there arose a question between some of John's disciples and the Jews, about purifying. ²⁶ And they came to John, and said to him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou didst bear testimony, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him.

²² Look to me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

¹ I am sought by them that asked not for me; I am found by them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, to a nation that was not called by my name. ² I have spread out my hands all the day to a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that is not good, after their own thoughts;

²⁹ The next day John seeth Jesus coming to him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, who taketh away the sin of the world.

² Looking to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

¹⁹ But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: ²⁰ Who verily was fore-ordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifested in these last times for you,

²³ A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good it is!

²¹ And the inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to pray before the LORD, and to seek the LORD of hosts: I will go also.

⁴³ The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith to him, follow me.

³⁹ And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, who testified, He told me all that ever I did. ⁴⁰ So when the Samaritans had come to him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days. ⁴¹ And many more believed, because of his own word; ⁴² And said to the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.

¹⁷ So then, faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

²⁹ Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace to the hearers.

¹⁷ And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth, say, Come. And let him that is thirsty, come: And whoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

¹⁶ And Ruth said, Entreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:

⁸ Happy are thy men, happy are these thy servants, who stand continually before thee, and that hear thy wisdom.

⁴ One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple.

¹⁸ She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.

³⁴ Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

²⁰ He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

⁷ Tell me, O thou whom my soul loveth, where thou feedest, where thou makest thy flock to rest at noon: for why should I be as one that turneth aside by the flocks of thy companions? ⁸ If thou knowest not, O thou fairest among women, go forth by the footsteps of the flock, and feed thy kids beside the shepherds tents.

⁷ And greetings in the markets, and to be called by men, Rabbi, Rabbi. ⁸ But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.

²⁴ And when the messengers of John had departed, he began to speak to the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind? ²⁵ But what went ye out to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? behold, they who are gorgeously appareled, and live delicately, are in kings' courts. ²⁶ But what went ye out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and much more than a prophet. ²⁷ This is he, concerning whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way before thee.

³⁸ Now the man out of whom the demons had departed, besought him that he might be with him. But Jesus sent him away, saying,

³⁹ And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word.

²⁵ And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said to them,

²⁰ And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

⁴⁰ And Jesus stood and commanded him to be brought to him: and when he had come near, he asked him, ⁴¹ Saying, What wilt thou that I shall do to thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight.

⁵ And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said to him, Zaccheus, make haste, and come down: for to-day I must abide at thy house.

⁶¹ And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said to him, Before the cock shall crow, thou wilt deny me thrice.

² The same came to Jesus by night, and said to him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

²⁵ And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said to him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither?

²¹ The same came therefore to Philip, who was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.

⁴ Jesus therefore, knowing all things that were coming upon him, went forth, and said to them, Whom seek ye?

⁷ Then he asked them again, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth.

¹⁵ Jesus saith to her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith to him, Sir, if thou hast borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away. ¹⁶ Jesus saith to her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith to him, Rabboni, which is to say, Master.

²¹ Then Peter went down to the men who were sent to him from Cornelius; and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause for which ye have come?

²⁹ Therefore I came to you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me?

¹⁷ I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.

²⁸ Come to me, all ye that labor, and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. ²⁹ Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me: for I am meek and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest to your souls. ³⁰ For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

²⁹ But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is towards evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.

⁴⁶ And Nathanael said to him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith to him, Come and see.

⁴⁰ So when the Samaritans had come to him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days.

³⁷ All that the Father giveth me, shall come to me; and him that cometh to me, I will in no wise reject.

²² Judas, not Iscariot, saith to him, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself to us, and not to the world? ²³ Jesus answered and said to him, If a man loveth me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our abode with him.

³⁰ And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in to him, ³¹ Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

²⁰ Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: If any man shall hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

¹⁸ And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. ¹⁹ And he saith to them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. ²⁰ And they immediately left their nets, and followed him. ²¹ And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets: and he called them. ²² And they immediately left the boat, and their father, and followed him.

² Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;

¹⁶ Now as he was walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. ¹⁷ And Jesus said to them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men. ¹⁸ And immediately they forsook their nets, and followed him. ¹⁹ And when he had gone a little further thence, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the boat mending their nets. ²⁰ And immediately he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants, and went after him.

² And saw two boats standing by the lake: but the fishermen had gone out of them, and were washing their nets. ³ And he entered into one of the boats, which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the boat. ⁴ Now when he had left speaking, he said to Simon, Lanch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. ⁵ And Simon answering said to him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing; nevertheless, at thy word I will let down the net. ⁶ And when they had done this, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net broke. ⁷ And they beckoned to their partners, who were in the other boat, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. ⁸ When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. ⁹ For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken: ¹⁰ And so was also James and John the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, Fear not: from henceforth thou shalt catch men. ¹¹ And when they had brought their boats to land, they forsook all, and followed him.

⁴⁰ One of the two who heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. ⁴¹ He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith to him, We have found the Messiah; which is, being interpreted, the Christ. ⁴² And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas; which is, by interpretation, a stone.

⁸ One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith to him,

¹³ And when they had come in, they went into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alpheus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James.

⁹ Then they said one to another, We do not well: this day is a day of good tidings, and we hold our peace: if we tarry till the morning light, some mischief will come upon us: now therefore come, that we may go and tell the king's household.

² The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,

⁷ (45:6)Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the scepter of thy kingdom is a scepter of justice.

²⁰ (89:19)Then thou didst speak in vision to thy holy one, and say, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.

³ And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. ⁴ And he will judge among the nations, and will rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plow-shares, and their spears into pruning-hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. ⁵ O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the LORD.

² And the spirit of the LORD will rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;

¹ The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to publish good tidings to the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

¹⁷ And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.

³⁸ And she coming in that instant, gave thanks likewise to the Lord, and spoke of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.

¹⁸ The spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, ¹⁹ To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. ²⁰ And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. ²¹ And he began to say to them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

³⁶ And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God! ³⁷ And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.

⁴⁵ Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith to him, We have found him described by Moses in the law, and by the prophets, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

²⁵ The woman saith to him, I know that Messiah cometh, who is called Christ; when he is come, he will tell us all things.

²⁸ The woman then left her waterpot, and went into the city, and saith to the men, ²⁹ Come, see a man who hath told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?

²⁷ For in truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were assembled,

³⁸ That God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed by the devil; for God was with him.

³² And we declare to you the glad tidings, that the promise which was made to the fathers, ³³ God hath fulfilled the same to us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.

⁸ But to the Son, he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of thy kingdom. ⁹ Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

³ That which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

¹⁷ And Jesus answered and said to him, Blessed art thou, Simon-Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it to thee, but my Father who is in heaven. ¹⁸ And I say also to thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church: and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

¹⁶ And Simon he surnamed Peter.

⁸ When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.

¹⁴ Simon (whom he also named Peter) and Andrew his brother, James and John, and Philip and Bartholomew,

⁴⁷ Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile! ⁴⁸ Nathanael saith to him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said to him, Before Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig-tree, I saw thee.

²⁴ But Jesus did not commit himself to them, because he knew all men. ²⁵ And needed not that any should testify concerning man: for he knew what was in man.

⁷⁰ Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil? ⁷¹ He spoke of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for it was he that was to betray him, being one of the twelve.

¹⁸ I speak not of you all; I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me, hath lifted up his heel against me.

² There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples.

¹⁵ So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith to him, Yes, Lord: thou knowest that I love thee. He saith to him, Feed my lambs. ¹⁶ He saith to him again the second time, Simon son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith to him, Yes, Lord: thou knowest that I love thee. He saith to him, Feed my sheep. ¹⁷ He saith to him the third time, Simon son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved, because he said to him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said to him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith to him, Feed my sheep.

¹² Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.

²² Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours;

⁵ Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?

⁵ And that he was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve:

⁹ And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given to me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go to the heathen, and they to the circumcision.

¹ I am sought by them that asked not for me; I am found by them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, to a nation that was not called by my name.

¹⁸ And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. ¹⁹ And he saith to them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. ²⁰ And they immediately left their nets, and followed him. ²¹ And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets: and he called them.

⁹ And as Jesus was passing from thence, he saw a man named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith to him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.

³ Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alpheus, and Lebbeus, whose surname was Thaddeus;

¹⁰ For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

²⁸ These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.

³⁵ Again the next day after, John stood, and two of his disciples;

⁵ When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come to him, he saith to Philip, Whence shall we buy bread that these may eat?

⁷ Philip answered him, Two hundred penny-worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them make take a little:

⁸ Philip saith to him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.

¹² Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I pursue, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended by Christ Jesus.

¹⁹ We love him, because he first loved us.

²¹ Woe to thee, Chorazin; woe to thee, Bethsaida: for if the mighty works which have been done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

¹⁸ And Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alpheus, and Thaddeus, and Simon the Canaanite,

⁴⁵ And immediately he constrained his disciples to get into the boat, and to go to the other side before to Bethsaida, while he sent away the people.

²² And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man to him, and besought him to touch him.

¹⁰ And the apostles, when they had returned, told him all that they had done. And he took them, and went aside privately into a desert place, belonging to the city called Bethsaida.

¹³ Woe to thee, Chorazin! woe to thee Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented sitting in sackcloth and ashes.

⁸ Philip saith to him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us. ⁹ Jesus saith to him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me Philip? he that hath seen me, hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?

¹⁰ The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh shall come: and to him shall be the gathering of the people.

¹⁸ I will raise up to them a prophet from among their brethren, like thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak to them all that I shall command him. ¹⁹ And it shall come to pass, that whoever will not hearken to my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him. ²⁰ But the prophet, who shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. ²¹ And if thou shalt say in thy heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? ²² When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing doth not follow, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.

² In that day shall the branch of the LORD be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that have escaped of Israel.

¹² And speak to him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD;

⁹ Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh to thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

²³ And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene.

⁵⁵ Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?

¹¹ And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.

³ Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Judas, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.

⁶⁷ And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked upon him, and said, And thou also wast with Jesus of Nazareth.

⁴ And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David)

²³ And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, who was the son of Heli,

²² And all bore him testimony, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son?

²⁷ And beginning at Moses, and all the prophets, he expounded to them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

⁴⁴ And he said to them, These are the words which I spoke to you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

⁴⁶ And Nathanael said to him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith to him, Come and see.

⁴⁵ Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. ⁴⁶ For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote concerning me.

⁴² And they said, Is not this Jesus the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven?

⁵ They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith to them, I am he. And Judas also, who betrayed him, stood with them.

¹⁹ And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.

²² Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved by God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

⁶ Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have I give thee: in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.

⁸ And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And he said to me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest.

⁹ I verily thought with myself, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.

²⁸ And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath, ²⁹ And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him to the brow of the hill on which their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong.

⁵⁷ And why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?

²⁹ Come, see a man who hath told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?

⁴¹ Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Will Christ come out of Galilee? ⁴² Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh from the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?

⁵² They answered and said to him, Art thou also from Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.

²¹ Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

² Blessed is the man to whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

¹ A Psalm of Asaph. Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart.

³¹ Then said Jesus to those Jews who believed on him, If ye continue in my word, ye are my disciples indeed;

³⁹ They answered and said to him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith to them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.

²⁸ For he is not a Jew, who is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: ²⁹ But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not from men, but from God.

⁴ Who are Israelites; to whom pertain the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;

⁶ Not as though the word of God hath taken no effect. For they are not all Israel, who are descendants from Israel?

³ For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

¹ Wherefore, laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil-speakings,

²² Who committed no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:

⁵ And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.

²⁴ And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him, until the breaking of the day. ²⁵ And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh: and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. ²⁶ And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh; And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. ²⁷ And he said to him, What is thy name? ²⁴ And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

⁶ But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father who is in secret, and thy Father who seeth in secret, will reward thee openly.

²⁵ And needed not that any should testify concerning man: for he knew what was in man.

⁵ Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord shall come, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise from God.

¹⁸ And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass; ¹⁹ I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first:

⁶ Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

¹ A Psalm of David. The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thy enemies thy footstool.

⁷ Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

⁵ Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise to David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice upon the earth. ⁶ In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell in safety: and this is his name by which he shall be called, JEHOVAH OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

²¹ And say to them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they are gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land: ²² And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all: ²³ Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will save them out of all their dwelling-places, in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God. ²⁴ And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them. ²⁵ And they shall dwell in the land that I have given to Jacob my servant, in which your fathers have dwelt, and they shall dwell in it, even they, and their children, and their children's children for ever: and my servant David shall be their prince for ever.

²⁵ Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem to the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and sixty and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

⁵ Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days.

¹⁵ The LORD hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thy enemy: the King of Israel, even the LORD, is in the midst of thee: thou shalt not see evil any more.

⁵ Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh to thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.

¹¹ And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said to him, Thou sayest.

⁴² He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he is King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.

³⁸ Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.

³⁴ And I saw and bore testimony, that this is the Son of God.

³⁸ Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith to them, What seek ye? They said to him, Rabbi (which is to say, being interpreted, Master) where dwellest thou?

¹³ Took branches of palm-trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna; Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord. ¹⁴ And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written, ¹⁵ Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass's colt.

³⁷ Pilate therefore said to him, Art thou a King then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a King. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should testify to the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.

¹⁹ And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS. ²⁰ Many of the Jews then read this title: for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, Greek, and Latin. ²¹ Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews. ²² Pilate answered, What I have written, I have written.

²⁸ And Thomas answered and said to him, My Lord and my God. ²⁹ Jesus saith to him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

²⁹ For to every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.

⁴⁵ And blessed is she that believed that there will be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.

⁹ When Jesus heard these things, he marveled at him, and turned himself about and said to the people that followed him, I say to you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

²⁹ Jesus saith to him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

¹² And he dreamed, and behold, a ladder set upon the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold, the angels of God ascending and descending on it.

¹ Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the river of Kebar, that the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God.

⁹ I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. ¹⁰ A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered to him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set and the books were opened.

¹³ I saw in the night visions, and behold, one like the son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. ¹⁴ And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

⁷ Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn my hand upon the little ones.

¹¹ Then the devil leaveth him, and behold, angels came and ministered to him.

²⁰ And Jesus saith to him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.

⁶ But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick with the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go to thy house.

¹³ When Jesus came into the borders of Cesarea Phillippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Who do men say that I the Son of man am? ¹⁴ And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some Elijah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets. ¹⁵ He saith to them, But who say ye that I am? ¹⁶ And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

²⁷ For the Son of man will come in the glory of his Father, with his angels; and then he will reward every man according to his works. ²⁸ Verily I say to you, There are some standing here, who shall not taste death, till they shall see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

³¹ When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then will he sit upon the throne of his glory:

²⁴ The Son of man goeth, as it is written concerning him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man, if he had not been born.

⁶² And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

⁹ And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were in great fear.

¹³ And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

²¹ Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened,

⁴³ And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, strengthening him.

⁶⁹ Hereafter will the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.

⁴ And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed at this, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments.

¹³ And no man hath ascended to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man who is in heaven. ¹⁴ And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

¹⁹ Then answered Jesus, and said to them, Verily, verily, I say to you, The Son can do nothing by himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for whatever things he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

²⁴ Verily, verily, I say to you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but hath passed from death to life. ²⁵ Verily, verily, I say to you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.

²⁷ And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.

²⁶ Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say to you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye ate of the loaves, and were satisfied.

⁴⁷ Verily, verily, I say to you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

⁵³ Then Jesus said to them, Verily, verily, I say to you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.

³⁴ Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say to you, Whoever committeth sin, is the servant of sin.

⁵¹ Verily, verily, I say to you, If a man shall keep my saying, he shall never see death.

¹ Verily, verily, I say to you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheep-fold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

⁷ Then said Jesus to them again, Verily, verily, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.

²³ And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified. ²⁴ Verily, verily, I say to you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

¹⁶ Verily, verily, I say to you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.

²⁰ Verily, verily, I say to you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send, receiveth me; and he that receiveth me, receiveth him that sent me. ²¹ When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say to you, that one of you will betray me.

³⁸ Jesus answered him, Wilt thou lay down thy life for my sake? Verily, verily, I say to thee, The cock will not crow, till thou hast denied me thrice.

¹² Verily, verily, I say to you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go to my Father.

²⁰ Verily, verily, I say to you, that ye will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice: and ye will be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.

²³ And in that day ye will ask me nothing: Verily, verily, I say to you, Whatever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.

¹⁸ Verily, verily, I say to thee, When thou wast young, thou didst gird thyself and walk whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldst not.

¹⁰ And while they looked steadfastly towards heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; ¹¹ Who also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up to heaven? this same Jesus who is taken from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

⁵⁶ And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.

¹¹ And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending to him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:

⁷ And to you who are troubled, rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,

⁹ Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

¹⁴ Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall inherit salvation?

¹⁴ And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,

¹ After this I looked, and behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard, was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will show thee things which must be hereafter.

¹¹ And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
