¹⁸ Let them be confounded that persecute me, but let not me be confounded: let them be dismayed, but let not me be dismayed: bring upon them the day of evil, and destroy them with double destruction.

³³ As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumbling-stone, and rock of offense: and whoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

² The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,

⁹ He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lieth in wait to catch the poor: he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him into his net.

²⁵ I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

²⁸ For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.

⁷ (41:6)And if he cometh to see me, he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he telleth it. ⁸ (41:7)All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt.

⁴² He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he is King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him. ⁴³ He trusted in God; let him deliver him now if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.

⁴⁶ And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

⁴⁹ The rest said, Forbear, let us see whether Elijah will come to save him.

¹ Why standest thou afar off, O LORD? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?

¹¹ (22:10)I was cast upon thee from my birth: thou art my God from the time I was born.

¹⁹ (22:18)They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.

⁴ Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt.

²⁶ Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at my hurt: let them be clothed with shame and dishonor that magnify themselves against me.

¹¹ Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that contend with thee shall perish.

¹¹ But the LORD is with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten.

⁵ Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves to the elder. Yes, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

¹⁵ Though he shall slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain my own ways before him.

⁵ Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

⁶ By thee have I been sustained from my birth: thou art he that brought me into life: my praise shall be continually of thee.

⁷ Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.

²¹ This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.

²⁶ It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

⁹ And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;

¹⁰ And indeed ye do it towards all the brethren who are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more;

³⁵ Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward.

¹³ Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

¹⁸ But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

³ And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

² Who can utter the mighty acts of the LORD? who can show forth all his praise?

¹³ O LORD our God, other lords beside thee have had dominion over us; but by thee only will we make mention of thy name.

³¹ But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.

³³ But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

¹⁷ For in this is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

²¹ But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being testified by the law and the prophets;

³ For they, being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves to the righteousness of God.

¹⁶ That he would grant you according to the riches of his glory to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

¹⁰ Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

⁹ And be found in him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith:

¹³ I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me.

⁶ Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;

¹ Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

⁵ Behold, I have taught you statutes, and judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it.

⁹ And David answered Rechab and Baanah his brother, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, and said to them, As the LORD liveth, who hath redeemed my soul out of all adversity,

¹ And David spoke to the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD had delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul: ² And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; ³ The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my preserver; thou savest me from violence. ⁴ I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from my enemies. ⁵ When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly-men made me afraid; ⁶ The sorrows of hell encompassed me; the snares of death seized me; ⁷ In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry entered into his ears. ⁸ Then the earth shook and trembled: the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth. ⁹ There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it. ¹⁰ He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet. ¹¹ And he rode upon a cherub, and flew: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind. ¹² And he made darkness pavilions around him, dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies. ¹³ Through the brightness before him were coals of fire kindled. ¹⁴ The LORD thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice. ¹⁵ And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited them. ¹⁶ And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were laid open, at the rebuking of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils. ¹⁷ He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters; ¹⁸ He delivered me from my strong enemy, from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me. ¹⁹ They fell upon me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my support. ²⁰ He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in me. ²¹ The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me. ²² For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God. ²³ For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I did not depart from them. ²⁴ I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from my iniquity. ²⁵ Therefore the LORD hath recompensed me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness in his eye-sight. ²⁶ With the merciful thou wilt show thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt show thyself upright. ²⁷ With the pure thou wilt show thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt contend. ²⁸ And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thy eyes are upon the haughty, that thou mayest bring them down. ²⁹ For thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness. ³⁰ For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall. ³¹ As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him. ³² For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God? ³³ God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect. ³⁴ He maketh my feet like hinds' feet: and setteth me upon my high places. ³⁵ He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by my arms. ³⁶ Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great. ³⁷ Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet have not slipped. ³⁸ I have pursued my enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again until I had consumed them. ³⁹ And I have consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise: yea, they have fallen under my feet. ⁴⁰ For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me. ⁴¹ Thou hast also given me the necks of my enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me. ⁴² They looked, but there was none to save; even to the LORD, but he answered them not. ⁴³ Then I beat them as small as the dust of the earth, I stamped them as the mire of the street, and spread them abroad. ⁴⁴ Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of my people, thou hast kept me to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not shall serve me. ⁴⁵ Strangers shall submit themselves to me: as soon as they hear, they shall be obedient to me. ⁴⁶ Strangers shall fade away, and they shall tremble from their close places. ⁴⁷ The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation. ⁴⁸ It is God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me, ⁴⁹ And that bringeth me forth from my enemies: thou also hast lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man. ⁵⁰ Therefore I will give thanks to thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and I will sing praises to thy name. ⁵¹ He is the tower of salvation for his king: and he showeth mercy to his anointed, to David, and to his seed for evermore.

⁴ And he appointed certain of the Levites to minister before the ark of the LORD, and to record, and to thank and praise the LORD God of Israel: ⁵ Asaph the chief, and next to him Zechariah, Jeiel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obed-edom: and Jeiel with psalteries and with harps; but Asaph made a sound with cymbals; ⁶ Benaiah also and Jahaziel the priests with trumpets continually before the ark of the covenant of God. ⁷ Then on that day David delivered first this psalm to thank the LORD into the hand of Asaph and his brethren. ⁸ Give thanks to the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people. ⁹ Sing to him, sing psalms to him, talk ye of all his wonderous works. ¹⁰ Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD. ¹¹ Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually. ¹² Remember his wonderful works that he hath done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth; ¹³ O ye seed of Israel his servant, ye children of Jacob, his chosen ones. ¹⁴ He is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth. ¹⁵ Be ye mindful always of his covenant; the word which he commanded to a thousand generations; ¹⁶ Even of the covenant which he made with Abraham, and of his oath to Isaac; ¹⁷ And which he confirmed to Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant, ¹⁸ Saying, To thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance; ¹⁹ When ye were but few, even a few, and strangers in it. ²⁰ And when they went from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people; ²¹ He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes, ²² Saying, Touch not my anointed, and do my prophets no harm. ²³ Sing to the LORD, all the earth; show forth from day to day his salvation. ²⁴ Declare his glory among the heathen; his wonderful works among all nations. ²⁵ For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods. ²⁶ For all the gods of the people are idols: but the LORD made the heavens. ²⁷ Glory and honor are in his presence; strength and gladness are in his place. ²⁸ Give to the LORD, ye kindreds of the people, give to the LORD glory and strength. ²⁹ Give to the LORD the glory due to his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness. ³⁰ Fear before him, all the earth: the world also shall be stable, that it be not moved. ³¹ Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice: and let men say among the nations, The LORD reigneth. ³² Let the sea roar, and the fullness thereof: let the fields rejoice, and all that is therein. ³³ Then shall the trees of the wood sing at the presence of the LORD, because he cometh to judge the earth. ³⁴ O give thanks to the LORD; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever. ³⁵ And say ye, Save us, O God of our salvation, and gather us together, and deliver us from the heathen, that we may give thanks to thy holy name, and glory in thy praise. ³⁶ Blessed be the LORD God of Israel for ever and ever. And all the people said, Amen, and praised the LORD.

⁷ That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works.

¹⁶ Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.

⁵ For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth.

⁹ BETH. Wherewith shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed to it, according to thy word.

¹⁰² I have not departed from thy judgments: for thou hast taught me.

¹ And it came to pass, that when Isaac was old, and his eyes were dim, so that he could not see, he called Esau his eldest son, and said to him, My son: and he said to him, Behold, here am I.

⁸ And thou shalt show thy son in that day, saying, This is done because of that which the LORD did to me when I came forth out of Egypt.

¹⁴ And it shall be when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What is this? that thou shalt say to him, By strength of hand the LORD brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage: ¹⁵ And it came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us go, that the LORD slew all the first-born in the land of Egypt, both the first-born of man, and the first-born of beasts: therefore I sacrifice to the LORD all that openeth the matrix, being males; but all the first-born of my children I redeem. ¹⁶ And it shall be for a token upon thy hand, and for frontlets between thy eyes: for by strength of hand the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt. ¹⁷ And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near, for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt.

¹⁵ Now Eli was ninety and eight years old; and his eyes were dim, that he could not see.

¹⁸ And it came to pass, when he made mention of the ark of God, that he fell from off the seat backward by the side of the gate, and his neck broke, and he died: for he was an old man, and heavy. And he had judged Israel forty years.

¹⁰ Wherefore David blessed the LORD before all the congregation: and David said, Blessed be thou, LORD God of Israel our father, for ever and ever. ¹¹ Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and on the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all. ¹² Both riches and honor come from thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thy hand is power and might; and in thy hand it is to make great, and to give strength to all. ¹³ Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name. ¹⁴ But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come from thee, and of thy own have we given thee. ¹⁵ For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as were all our fathers: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is no abiding. ¹⁶ O LORD our God, all this store that we have prepared to build thee a house for thy holy name cometh from thy hand, and is all thy own. ¹⁷ I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, who are present here, to offer willingly to thee. ¹⁸ O LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this for ever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and prepare their heart to thee: ¹⁹ And give to Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep thy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for which I have made provision. ²⁰ And David said to all the congregation, Now bless the LORD your God. And all the congregation blessed the LORD God of their fathers, and bowed their heads, and worshiped the LORD, and the king. ²¹ And they sacrificed sacrifices to the LORD, and offered burnt-offerings to the LORD, on the morrow after that day, even a thousand bullocks, a thousand rams, and a thousand lambs, with their drink-offerings, and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel: ²² And ate and drank before the LORD on that day with great gladness. And they made Solomon the son of David king the second time, and anointed him to the LORD to be the chief governor, and Zadok to be priest. ²³ Then Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him. ²⁴ And all the princes, and the mighty men, and all the sons likewise of king David, submitted themselves to Solomon the king. ²⁵ And the LORD magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed upon him such royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel. ²⁶ Thus David the son of Jesse reigned over all Israel. ²⁷ And the time that he reigned over Israel was forty years; seven years he reigned in Hebron, and thirty and three years he reigned in Jerusalem. ²⁸ And he died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honor: and Solomon his son reigned in his stead. ²⁹ Now the acts of David the king, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of Samuel the seer, and in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the book of Gad the seer, ³⁰ With all his reign and his might, and the times that went over him, and over Israel, and over all the kingdoms of the countries.

³¹ (22:30)A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.

⁹ Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.

⁴ We will not hide them from their children, showing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done.

⁶ That the generation to come might know them, even the children who should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children:

⁴ One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts. ⁵ I will speak of the glorious honor of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.

⁹ Awake, awake, put on thy strength, O arm of the LORD; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Art thou not that which hath cut Rahab, and wounded the dragon?

¹ Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?

³⁶ For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell asleep, and was laid to his fathers, and saw corruption:

¹¹ Who is like to thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders!

⁹ Who doeth great things and unsearchable; wonderful things without number:

¹⁰ All my bones shall say, LORD, who is like thee, who deliverest the poor from him that is too strong for him, even the poor and the needy from him that spoileth him?

⁵ (36:4)He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil. ⁶ (36:5)Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth to the clouds.

¹⁰ (57:9)I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing to thee among the nations.

¹⁸ Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things.

⁸ Among the gods there is none like thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like thy works.

⁶ (89:5)And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O LORD; thy faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints. ⁷ (89:6)For who in the heaven can be compared to the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened to the LORD? ⁸ (89:7)God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence by all them that are about him.

² Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them. ³ The LORD hath done great things for us; of which we are glad.

⁶ Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain to it.

²⁴ The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.

⁷ Wisdom is too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate.

¹⁶ But the LORD of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and God that is holy shall be sanctified in righteousness.

¹⁸ To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare to him?

²⁵ To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equaled? saith the Holy One.

⁹ For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

⁷ Who would not fear thee, O King of nations? for to thee doth it appertain: forasmuch as among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like to thee.

⁴⁹ For he that is mighty hath done to me great things, and holy is his name.

¹¹ Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thy own house, and I will take thy wives before thy eyes, and give them to thy neighbor, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun.

¹⁰ For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thy Holy One to see corruption.

³ (60:1)To the chief Musician upon Shushan-eduth, Michtam of David, to teach; when he strove with Aram-naharaim and with Aram-zobah, when Joab returned, and smote of Edom in the valley of salt twelve thousand. O God, thou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered us, thou hast been displeased; O turn thyself to us again.

¹⁰ For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried. ¹¹ Thou hast brought us into the net; thou hast laid affliction upon our loins. ¹² Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.

¹⁸ (80:17)Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself.

⁶ (85:5)Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thy anger to all generations?

¹³ For great is thy mercy towards me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.

Selah. ¹² (88:11)Shall thy loving-kindness be declared in the grave? or thy faithfulness in destruction? ¹³ (88:12)Shall thy wonders be known in the dark? and thy righteousness in the land of forgetfulness? ¹⁴ (88:13)But to thee have I cried, O LORD; and in the morning shall my prayer come before thee. ¹⁵ (88:14)LORD, why castest thou off my soul? why hidest thou thy face from me? ¹⁶ (88:15)I am afflicted and ready to die from my youth up: while I suffer thy terrors I am distracted. ¹⁷ (88:16)Thy fierce wrath goeth over me; thy terrors have cut me off. ¹⁸ (88:17)They came around me daily like water; they encompassed me together.

²⁵ DALETH. My soul cleaveth to the dust: revive thou me according to thy word.

⁷ Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou wilt stretch forth thy hand against the wrath of my enemies, and thy right hand will save me.

¹⁹ Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.

¹⁷ Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.

¹² Therefore prophesy and say to them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. ¹³ And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you out of your graves,

¹ Come, and let us return to the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. ² After two days will he revive us: in the third day will he raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.

⁶ (2:5)The waters encompassed me, even to the soul: the depth inclosed me on every side, the weeds were wrapped about my head.

³³ And he taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and began to be greatly amazed, and to be very heavy; ³⁴ And saith to them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful to death: tarry ye here, and watch.

³⁴ And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama, sabacthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

²⁴ Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be held by it.

³² This Jesus hath God raised up, of which we all are witnesses. ³³ Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. ³⁴ For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he saith himself, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

²³ Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labors more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths often. ²⁴ From the Jews five times I received forty stripes save one. ²⁵ Thrice was I beaten with rods, once I was stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; ²⁶ In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by my own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; ²⁷ In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness. ²⁸ Besides those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches. ²⁹ Who is weak, and I am not weak? who is made to fall into sin, and I burn not? ³⁰ If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern my infirmities. ³¹ The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is blessed for evermore, knoweth that I lie not.

⁹ Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?

¹⁴ And I said to him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they who came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

¹ Now there was long war between the house of Saul and the house of David: but David grew stronger and stronger, and the house of Saul became weaker and weaker.

³⁵ (18:34)He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by my arms.

⁴ Yes, though I walk through the valley of the shades of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

¹⁰ Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall encompass him.

¹¹ Yes, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him.

¹⁷ Show me a token for good; that they who hate me may see it, and be ashamed: because thou, LORD, hast helped me, and comforted me.

⁷ Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

¹ And in that day thou shalt say, O LORD, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thy anger is turned away, and thou hast comforted me.

⁶ And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldst be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation to the end of the earth.

¹³ Sing, O heavens, and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted.

⁴ Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them who are in any trouble by the consolation with which we ourselves are comforted by God. ⁵ For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.

¹⁴ Now thanks be to God, who always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savor of his knowledge by us in every place.

⁶ Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus;

¹³ Therefore we were comforted in your comfort: and exceedingly the more we rejoiced for the joy of Titus, because his spirit was refreshed by you all.

⁹ For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy with which we rejoice for your sakes before our God;

¹⁵ And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he will reign for ever and ever.

²² Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thy eyes on high: even against the Holy One of Israel.

¹⁰ All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth to such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.

² Praise the LORD with harp: sing to him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings.

⁴ (56:3)In the time when I am afraid, I will trust in thee.

⁴¹ Yes, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel.

¹⁸ (89:17)For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy favor our horn shall be exalted.

¹ +² (92:1)A Psalm or Song for the sabbath day. It is a good thing to give thanks to the LORD, and to sing praises to thy name, O Most High. ³ (92:2)To show forth thy loving-kindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night.

³ He hath remembered his mercy and his truth towards the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

² I will worship towards thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy loving-kindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

⁹ I will sing a new song to thee, O God: upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises to thee.

³ Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. ⁴ Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. ⁵ Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.

¹⁹ That say, Let him make speed, and hasten his work, that we may see it: and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw nigh and come, that we may know it!

²⁴ Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

⁶ Cry aloud and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee.

¹¹ Withdraw from the way, turn aside from the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us. ¹² Wherefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel, Because ye despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and lean upon it:

³ For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Savior: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Cush and Seba for thee.

¹⁵ For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

⁹ Surely the isles shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring thy sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, to the name of the LORD thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he hath glorified thee.

²⁰ Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, which thou hast sworn to our fathers from the days of old.

¹⁸ Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. ¹⁹ The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon my high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.

⁸ Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made to the fathers:

¹⁶ The angel who hath redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac: and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.

²² (34:21)Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.

⁴ Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with loving-kindness and tender mercies;

³³ I will sing to the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.

⁴⁶ And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, ⁴⁷ And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Savior.

⁹ And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals of it: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and language, and people, and nation;

¹⁹ And ye shall teach them to your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thy house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

³⁷ (18:36)Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip. ³⁸ (18:37)I have pursued my enemies, and overtaken them: neither did I turn again till they were consumed. ³⁹ (18:38)I have wounded them that they were not able to rise: they have fallen under my feet. ⁴⁰ (18:39)For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me. ⁴¹ (18:40)Thou hast also given me the necks of my enemies; that I might destroy them that hate me. ⁴² (18:41)They cried, but there was none to save them: even to the LORD, but he answered them not. ⁴³ (18:42)Then I beat them small as the dust before the wind: I cast them out as the dirt in the streets.

³⁰ The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.

¹³ Let them be confounded and consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and dishonor that seek my hurt.

¹¹ (92:10)But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.

²⁰ The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth. ²¹ The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.

³⁵ A good man, out of the good treasure of the heart, bringeth forth good things: and an evil man, out of the evil treasure, bringeth forth evil things.

²⁵ For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.

²⁹ Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace to the hearers.
