⁴ And my speech, and my preaching [was] not with enticing words of wisdom, but in the revelation of the Spirit, and of power:

⁸ And when he is come, he will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgement: ⁹ Of sin indeed, because the believe not on me; ¹⁰ And of righteousness, because I go to the Father, and ye see me no more; ¹¹ And of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. ¹² I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. ¹³ When he, the Spirit of truth shall come, he will guide you in all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, he will speak: and he will tell you things to come. ¹⁴ He will glorifie me, for he shall receive of mine and will shew it unto you. ¹⁵ All things that the Father hath, are mine: therefore said I, that he taketh of mine, and shall tell it unto you.

²⁷ For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.

²⁸ Then Agrippa [said] unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.

¹⁹ Through his mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Holy Spirit; so that from Jerusalem unto Illyricum and round about, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

¹⁸ For they that are such, serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words, deceive the hearts of the simple.

¹⁷ For Christ sent me not to baptize, to but preach the gospel not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be of none effect.

¹ And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech, or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.

¹³ Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

²⁰ For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.

¹⁰ For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? If I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

⁴ And this I say, lest any one should beguile you with enticing words.

⁵ For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

¹² Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto you they did minister the things which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you, by the Holy Ghost, sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

¹⁶ For we have not folowed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eye witnesses of his majesty.

¹⁸ For when they speak great swelling [words] of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that in some measure escape from them who live in error:
