¹⁶ And it came to pass, as we went to the house of prayer, a certain damsel, possessed with a spirit of divination, met us, which brought her masters much gain by thus soothsaying:

⁹ But there was a certain man whose name was Simon, before in that city, who used magick, and distracted the nation of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one. ¹⁰ To whom they all gave heed from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is that power of God, which is called The Great. ¹¹ And to him they gave heed, because that of long time he had distracted them with magical arts.

¹³ But on the sabbath-day we went out of the gate by the river, where there appeared to be an house of prayer: and we sat down and spake unto the women who came along with us.
