¹ Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon [you]. ² Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten. ³ Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and the rust shall eat your flesh as fire: ye have heaped treasure together in the last days. ⁴ Behold the hire of the labourers, who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them who have reaped, are entered into the ears of the Lord of hosts. ⁵ Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, ye have been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts in days of slaughter. ⁶ Ye have condemned [and] killed the just; he doth not resist you. ⁷ Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruits of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the former and latter rain. ⁸ Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh. ⁹ Grudge not one against another, my brethren, lest ye be judged: behold, the judge standeth before the door. ¹⁰ Brethren, ye have the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience. ¹¹ Behold, we count them happy who have endured. Ye have heard of the patience of job, and have seen the end of the Lord: that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy. ¹² But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yes be yes, and [your] no, no; lest ye fall under judgment. ¹³ Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. ¹⁴ Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: ¹⁵ And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. ¹⁶ Confess therefore [your] sins one to another, pray one for another, that ye may be healed: The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. ¹⁷ Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. ¹⁸ And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit. ¹⁹ My brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; ²⁰ Let him know, that he who converteth a sinner from the error of his way, shall save his soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

²³ Then said Jesus to his disciples, Verily I say unto you, that a rich [man] shall hardly enter into the kingdom of the heavens. ²⁴ And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

²⁴ But wo unto you that are rich: for ye have received your consolation. ²⁵ Wo unto you that are full: for ye shall hunger. Wo unto you that laugh now for ye shall mourn and weep,

¹⁶ And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully. ¹⁷ And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do,because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? ¹⁸ And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and make them greater;and there will I collect all my fruits. ¹⁹ And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods; Be merry. ²⁰ But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: [then] whose shall those things be which thou hast provided; ²¹ --

¹⁹ But he spake also another parable: There was a rich man, who was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day. ²⁰ But a certain beggar named Lazarus, was laid at his gate full of ulcers. ²¹ And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich mans table: moreover, the dogs came and licked his ulcers. ²² And it came to pass that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abrahams bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried. ²³ And in hades he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus resting in his bosom. ²⁴ And he cried earnestly and said, Father Abraham have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. ²⁵ But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is here comforted, and thou art pained.

²⁸ But Jesus turning unto them, said, Daughters of Jerusalem weep not for me, nor lament; but weep for your selves, and your children. ²⁹ For the days will come, in the which they shall say, Blessed [are] the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave nourishment.

⁹ But they that will be rich, fall into temptation, and the snare of the devil, and many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. ¹⁰ For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some have coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

¹¹ For [where] the sun is risen with a burning heat, it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.

⁶ But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment-seats?

⁹ Be afflicted, and mourn, [and] weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and joy to heaviness.

¹³ Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow let us go into such a city, and continue a year, and buy and sell; and we will get gain:

¹⁵ And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the chief captains, and the rich men, and the strong men, and every bond-man and free-man hid themselves in the dens, and in the rocks of the mountains; ¹⁶ And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: ¹⁷ For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

¹⁹ You shall not lay up for your selves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal. ²⁰ But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal.

³³ Sell that ye have, and give alms: provide your selves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens, that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.

² For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;

⁴ To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

¹⁷ It shall come to pass in the last days, saith the Lord, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and their sons and their daughters shall prophesy, and the young men shall see visions, and the old men shall dream dreams:

⁵ But after thy hardness and impenitent heart, treasurest up unto thy self wrath against the day of wrath, and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

¹⁷ And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymeneus and Philetus;

⁷ Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruits of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the former and latter rain. ⁸ Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

³ Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers in scoffing, walking after their own lusts,

¹⁶ And the ten horns which thou sawest and the wild beast, these shall hate the whore, and make her desolate, and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.

¹⁵ And whosoever was not found written in the book of life, was cast into the lake of fire.

⁸ But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

⁷ And, shall not God avenge his own elect, while they cry day and night unto him, and he compassionates them?

²⁹ And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Hosts had left us a seed, we had been as Sodom, and been made like unto Gomorrha.

¹ Masters, give unto [your] servants which is jut and equal, knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven.

²⁵ But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is here comforted, and thou art pained.

¹³ Let us walk honestly as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying

⁶ But she that liveth in pleasure, is dead while she liveth.

⁴ Treacherous, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more that lovers of God;

¹³ And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, [as] they that count it pleasure to riot in the daytime: sporting themselves with their own feasts of charity while they rejoice with you;

¹² These are those who are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with them, feeding themselves without fear: clouds without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withered, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;

⁷ How much she hath glorified her self, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, that I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.

¹⁷ And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come, gather your selves together unto the great supper of God; ¹⁸ That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both [free] and bond, both small and great.

³⁹ But I say unto you, that ye resist not a wicked [man]: but whosoever will smite thee on thy cheek, turn to him the other also.

³⁸ But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir, come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.

³⁴ Therefore behold, I will send prophets, and wise men, and scribes; and [some] of them ye will kill and crucifie, and persecute from city to city: ³⁵ That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the land, from the blood of righteous Abel, unto the blood of Zacharias, son of Barachias, whom ye have slain between the temple and the altar.

⁵³ Or thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angel? ⁵⁴ But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?

²⁰ But the chief priests and elders perswaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.

²⁴ When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this man, you shall see [to it]. ²⁵ Then answered all the people, and said, His blood [be] on us, and on our children.

⁵¹ And he answered and said, Suffer ye thus far, And he streched out his hand, and touched his ear, and his ear was restored. ⁵² Then he said unto the chief priests and captains of the people, and the elders who were come to him, Are ye come out as against a thief, with swords and staves? ⁵³ When I was dayly with you in the temple, ye stretched not out hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.

² They shall put you out of the synagogues: But the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you, will think that he doth God service. ³ And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.

⁹ And they went again into the judgment-hall, and he saith unto Jesus, Whence art thou? But Jesus gave no answer. ¹⁰ Pilate therefore saith unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucifie thee, and have power to release thee? ¹¹ Jesus answered him, Thou hast no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.

²² Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, aman approved of God among you, by miracles and wonders and signs, all which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye your selves know: ²³ Him, being given you by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by a wicked hand have fastned to a cross, and slain:

¹⁴ But ye oppressed the holy one, and the just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you, ¹⁵ And killed the prince of life, whom God raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.

¹⁰ Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. ¹¹ This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. ¹² Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given to men whereby we must be saved.

⁵² Which of the prophets have not they persecuted? and they have slain those who shewed before of the coming of the just one, of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:

³² The place of the scripture which he read, was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter, and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:

²⁷ For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and her rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the scriptures of the prophets which are read every sabbath, even they have fulfilled [them] in condemning [him.] ²⁸ And finding no cause of death in him, when they had judged him they delivered him to Pilate that he might be slain.

¹⁴ And he said to me, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that just one, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.

¹⁵ Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and the prophets, and have persecuted us; and please not God, and are contrary to all men: ¹⁶ Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles, that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath of God is come upon them to the uttermost.

³⁸ Now the just shall live by my faith: but if he draw back, my foul shall have no pleasure in him.

² Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.

²² Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: ²³ Who when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatned not; but committed [himself] to him that judgeth righteously;

²⁷ For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth unto the west: so shall the coming of the Son of man be.

⁴⁴ Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as you think not, the Son of man cometh.

¹⁵ But that on the good ground, are they, who in a good heart, having heard the word of God, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

¹⁵ And he said unto them, Where is your faith?And they being afraid, wondred, saying one to another, What a man is this? for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.

⁸ I tell you, He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

²⁷ And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud, with great power and glory.

⁷ To them who by patient continuance in well-doing, seek for glory, and honour, and immortality; eternal life:

²⁴ For we are saved by hope: But hope that is seen, is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? ²⁵ But if we hope for that we see not, we do with patience wait for it.

⁴ For whatsoever things were written, were written for our learning; that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

⁷ So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:

⁴ But in all things approving our selves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses, ⁵ In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings,

⁵ For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

⁹ And let us not be weary in well-doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

¹¹ Strengthened with all might according to his glorious power, unto all patience and long-suffering with joyfulness;

³ Remembring without ceasing the work of your faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God, and our Father:

¹⁹ For what [is] our hope, or joy, or cron of rejoicing? [are] not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus, at his coming?

¹³ To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints. Amen.

¹⁵ And so after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

¹ Wherefore, seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset [us], and let us run with patience the race which is set before us, ² Looking unto Jesus theauthor and finisher of the faith; who for the joy that was set before him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. ³ For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

⁸ Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh. ⁹ Grudge not one against another, my brethren, lest ye be judged: behold, the judge standeth before the door.

⁴ And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as [they were] from the beginning of the creation.

²⁵ But if we hope for that we see not, we do with patience wait for it.

¹¹ And that, knowing the time, that now [it is] high time to awake out of sleep: for now [is] our salvation nearer than when we believed. ¹² The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast away the works of darkness, but let us put on the armour of light.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

⁵ Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord [is] nigh.

¹⁰ And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus, who delivereth us from the wrath that is coming.

⁵ And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.

²⁵ Not forsaking the assembling of our selves together, as the manner of same [is]; but exhorting: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. ²⁶ For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there is not another sacrifice left still to be offered. ²⁷ But a certain fearful looking for of judgment, and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. ²⁸ He that despised Moses law, died without mercy and tears, under two or three witnesses: ²⁹ Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath troden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? ³⁰ For we know him that hath said, Vengeance [belongeth] unto me, I will recompence. And again, That the Lord shall judge his people. ³¹ [It is] a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. ³² But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions: ³³ Partly whilst ye were reproached, both by abuses and afflictions; and partly whilst ye became companions of them that were so used. ³⁴ For ye had compassion of those in bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in your selves that ye have a better and an enduring substance. ³⁵ Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. ³⁶ For ye have need of patience; that after ye have done the will of God ye may receive the promise. ³⁷ For yet a while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.

⁹ Grudge not one against another, my brethren, lest ye be judged: behold, the judge standeth before the door.

⁷ But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.

²⁰ He that testifieth these things, saith, I come quickly. Amen. Come Lord Jesus.

¹⁴ For, if ye shall forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. ¹⁵ But if ye shall not forgive men, neither will your Father forgive you your trespasses.

¹ Judge not, that ye be not judged. ² For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

³³ So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, at the doors.

¹⁹ Therefore Herodias watched him, and would have killed him, and could not.

²⁹ So ye likewise, when ye shall see all these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, at the doors.

⁵ Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come; who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts; and then shall every one have praise of God.

¹¹ Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

⁷ Every man according as he purposeth in his heart; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

¹⁴ For all the law is fulfilled in you in one word, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thy self.

²⁶ Let us not be desirous of vainglory, provoking one another, envying one another.

¹¹ Speak not evil one of another, my brethren. He that speaketh evil of a brother, or judgeth a brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.

⁵ Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.

⁹ Use hospitality one to another without grudging.

²⁰ Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

¹¹ Blessed are ye when men shall persecute and revile you, and shall say all manner of evil against you for my sake. ¹² Rejoyce, and be exceeding glad: for great [is] your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets who were before you.

³⁴ And when the time of the fruits drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it. ³⁵ And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another. ³⁶ Again therefore, he sent other servants, more than the first: and they did unto them likewise. ³⁷ But last of all, he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son. ³⁸ But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir, come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance. ³⁹ And they caught [him], and slew him, and cast him out of the vineyard:

²³ Rejoyce ye in that day, and leap for joy: because your reward [is] great in heaven: In the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.

³⁴ Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto it, how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen her brood under [her] wings, and ye would not?

²¹ Whom the heaven must receive, until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of his holy prophets,

¹⁴ For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God, which in Judea are in Christ Jesus: for ye have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they of the Jews: ¹⁵ Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and the prophets, and have persecuted us; and please not God, and are contrary to all men:

³² And what shall I say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and [of] Barak, and [of] Samson, and [of] Jephthae, [of] David also and Samuel, and [of] the prophets: ³³ Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, ³⁴ Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. ³⁵ Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection. ³⁶ And others had trial of mockings, and scourgings, yea moreover, of bonds, and imprisonment. ³⁷ They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheep-skins, and goat-skins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented: ³⁸ Of whom the world was not worthy, they wandered in deserts, and mountains, and dens and caves of the earth.

⁷ Remember them who have the rule [over you], who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.

¹⁰ Blessed [are] they who are persecuted for righteousness sake: for theirs shall be the kingdom of heaven. ¹¹ Blessed are ye when men shall persecute and revile you, and shall say all manner of evil against you for my sake.

²² And ye shall be hated of all for my names sake: but he that endureth to the end, shall be saved.

⁵⁰ And his mercy [is] on them that fear him, from generation to generation.

³⁶ Be ye merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

⁴ Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness, and forbearance, and long-suffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

⁶ To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in his beloved Son.

⁴ But God, who is rich in mercy, for the great love wherewith he loved us,

⁶ But Christ as a Son over his own house: which house are we, if we hold fast the confidence, and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.

¹⁴ For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

³⁹ But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition: but of them that believe, to the saving of the soul.

¹² Blessed [is] the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which He hath promised to them that love him.

⁶ Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations. ⁷ That the trial of your faith being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might befound unto praise, and honour, and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

¹³ Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end, for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

⁹ The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

³³ Again, ye have heard that it hath been said to them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shall perform unto the Lord thine Oaths. ³⁴ But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven, for it is Gods throne: ³⁵ Nor by the earth, for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. ³⁶ Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black. ³⁷ But let your communication be Yes, yes; No, no: for whatsoever [is] more than these, cometh of the evil one.

¹⁶ Wo unto you, ye blind guides, who say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debter. ¹⁷ Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold or the temple that hath sanctified the gold? ¹⁸ And whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing: but whosoever sweareth by he gold that is upon it, he is a debter. ¹⁹ Ye fools and blind: for whether [is] greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift? ²⁰ Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon. ²¹ And whoso shall have sworn by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that hath dwelt therein. ²² And he that shall have sworn by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon.

³⁴ And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto judgment. And the rest will I set in order when I come.

¹⁷ When I therefore was thus minded, did I use lightness? or the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh? that with me there should be yes, yes, and, no, no. ¹⁸ But God [is] true, our word toward you, was not yes and no. ¹⁹ For the Son of God Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, by me, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, was not yes and no, but in him was yes. ²⁰ For all the promises of God in him [are] yes, and in him amen, unto the glory of God by us.

¹ My brethren, be not many teachers, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation, ² For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same [is] a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

⁸ And above all things have fervent charity among your selves: for charity covers a multitude of sins.

² Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayst prosper, and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

³⁰ And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.

⁴⁴ And being in an agony, he prayed very earnestly: and his sweat was at it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

⁴² And turning to the Lord, he said to him, Remember me in the day of thy coming.

²⁴ Who receiving such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks. ²⁵ And at the middle of the night Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

²⁶ How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a doctrine, hath a psalm, hath a revelation, hath a tongue, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done to edifying.

⁷ And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to buffet me. ⁸ For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. ⁹ And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. ¹⁰ Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

¹⁹ Speaking to your selves in psalms, and hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your hearts to the Lord,

¹⁶ Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms, hymns, spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to God. ¹⁷ Whatsoever ye do in word or deed, [do] all in the name of Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

⁷ Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications, with strong crying and tears, unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard, in that he feared;

⁹ And they sing a new song, saying, That thou art worthy to take the book, and to [open] the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed [them] to God by thy blood, out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; ¹⁰ And hast made them a kingdom and priest: and they shall reign on the earth. ¹¹ And I beheld, and Iheard the voice of many angels round about the throne, and the animals, and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; ¹² Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain, [to] receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength and honour, and glory, and blessing. ¹³ And every creature which [is] in heaven, and on the earth, and such as [are] in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I, saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, [and] unto the Lamb for ever and ever! ¹⁴ And the four animals said, Amen. And the elders fell down and worshipped.

¹⁰ And they cry with a loud voice, saying. Salvation to our God who sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

³ And they sang as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four animals, and the elders: and no man could learn that song, but the hundred forty four thousand, who were redeemed from the earth.

¹ After these things I heard as it were a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, The power and glory of our God: ² For true and righteous [are] his judgments; for he hath judged the great whore who did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. ³ And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever. ⁴ And the twenty-four elders, and the four animals fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia. ⁵ And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, small and great. ⁶ And I heard the voice of a great multitude, and the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thundrings, saying Alleluia: forthe Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

¹³ And they cast out many dæmons, and anointing with oyl many that were sick, healed [them].

¹⁸ And they shall take up serpents in their hands, and if they drink any deadly thing it shall not at all hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

⁴⁰ But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down and prayed, and turning to the body, said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

²³ And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.

⁴ And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received honourably of the church, and of the apostles and of the elders, and they declared all things that God had done with them.

⁸ And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever, and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.

⁵ For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee.

² And behold they brought to him one who had the palsie, lying on a couch, and Jesus seeing their faith, said unto him who had the palsie, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins be forgiven thee. ³ And behold certain of the scribes said among themselves, This man blasphemeth. ⁴ And Jesus knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Wherefore think ye evil in you hearts? ⁵ For whether is easier to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee! or to say, Arise and walk? ⁶ But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, then saith he to him who had the palsie, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go unto thine house.

²⁰ And he saith unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye shall have faith as a grain of mustard-seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place, and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

²¹ Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith and doubt not, ye shall not only do this to the fig-tree, but if ye shall say also unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea, it shall be done, ²² And all things whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

⁵ When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the Paralytick, Son, [thy] sins be forgiven thee. ⁶ But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, saying, ⁷ Why doth this man thus speak? he blasphemes, who can forgive sins but God? ⁸ And when Jesus perceived in [his] spirit, that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts? ⁹ Whether is it easier said to the paralytick, Arise, and take up thy couch and walk, or to say [thy] Sins be for given thee? ¹⁰ But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to for give sins, he saith to the paralytick, ¹¹ I say unto thee Arise, take up thy couch, and go unto thine house.

²² And Jesus answering saith unto them, If ye had the faith of God, ²³ Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea, and shall not doubt in his heart, but what he saith shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith. ²⁴ Therefore I say unto you, What things ye desire when ye pray, believe that ye shall receive [them], and ye shall have [them].

¹⁷ And these signs shall follow them that believe, in my name shall they call out dæmons: they shall speak with new tongues. ¹⁸ And they shall take up serpents in their hands, and if they drink any deadly thing it shall not at all hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

¹⁴ Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole; sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.

³⁰ For this cause many [are] weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. ³¹ But if we would judge our selves, we should not be judged. ³² But when we are judged we are chastned of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

²⁸ And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, but thirdly teachers, miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. ²⁹ [Are] all apostles? [are] all prophets? [are] all teachers? [are] all workers of miracles? ³⁰ Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?

⁶ But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering: for he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea, driven with the wind, and tossed.

¹³ Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.

¹⁶ Confess therefore [your] sins one to another, pray one for another, that ye may be healed: The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

¹⁴ And this is the confidence that we have in him, that if we ask according to his name, he heareth us. ¹⁵ [And] whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. ¹⁶ If any one see his brother sin a sin not onto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin the sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

⁶ And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.

⁷ Ask and it shall be given you: seek, and ye shall find: knock, and it shall be opened unto you: ⁸ For every one that asketh, receiveth: and he that seeketh, findeth: and to him that knocketh, shall be opened. ⁹ Or what man is there of you, whom if his son shall ask bread, will he give him a stone? ¹⁰ And if he shall ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? ¹¹ If ye then being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

¹⁵ But if thy brother shall sin against thee, go, tell him his fault between thee and him alone; if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. ¹⁶ But if he will not hear, take with thee one of two more, that in the mouth of two or three every word may be established ¹⁷ And if he shall refuse to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he refuse to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man, and as a publican.

²² And all things whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

³ But when he heard of Jesus, he sent the elders of the Jews, asking him that he would come and heal his servant. ⁴ And when they came, they besought him earnestly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this.

⁶ And departing from the cities they came preaching the gospel, and healing every where.

¹¹ What son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, and he will give him a stone?or if he also ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? ¹² But if he shall ask an egg also, will he give him a scorpion. ¹³ If ye therefore being evil, know to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall the Father from the heaven give a good gift to them that ask him?

¹ He spake also a parable unto them, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; ² There was in a certain city a certain judge, who feared not God, neither regarded man. ³ And there was a widow in that city, and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. ⁴ And he would not for a certain time: but afterward he came to himself, and saith, Though I fear not God, and regard not man, ⁵ Yet because this widow causeth me trouble, I will go away and avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. ⁶ And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith, ⁷ And, shall not God avenge his own elect, while they cry day and night unto him, and he compassionates them? ⁸ I tell you, He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

³¹ We know that God heareth not sinners: but if any one be a worshipper of God, and doth his will, him he heareth.

²⁴ And when they heard that, and acknowledged the power of God, they lift up [their] voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou [art] God who hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that in them are: ²⁵ Who by the Holy Spirit, by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things? ²⁶ The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ. ²⁷ For of a truth in this city against thy holy Son Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel were gathered together, ²⁸ To do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done. ²⁹ And now, Lord, behold their threatnings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, ³⁰ By stretching forth [thine] hand to heal: and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy Son Jesus. ³¹ And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness to every one that would believe.

³⁸ Jesus of Nazareth; whom God anointed with the Holy Ghost, and with power: He went about doing good, and healing all that were brought into subjection by the devil: for God was with him.

⁵ Peter therefore was kept in prison; but great prayer was made with fervency of the church unto God for him. ⁶ And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains; But the keepers before the door kept the prison. ⁷ And behold, an angel of the Lord came upon Peter, and a light shined in the prison-house, and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands. ⁸ But the angel said unto him, Gird thy self, and bind on thy sandals: and so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me. ⁹ And he went out and followed, and knew not that it was true which was done by theangel: for he thought he saw a vision. ¹⁰ When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of its own accord: and they went out, and descended the seven steps, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him. ¹¹ And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know that the Lord hath surely sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and [from] all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

¹⁸ But many that believed came, and confessed, and told their deeds.

¹⁰ As it is written, there is none righteous, not one:

¹⁹ For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners: so by the obedience of one man, shall many be made righteous.

⁹ For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will, in all wisdom and spiritual understanding:

¹⁷ Pray without ceasing.

²³ And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly: and may your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁵ And brethren, pray for us.

⁴ By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness, that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead, yet speaketh.

⁷ By faith Noah being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

¹³ And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way, but let it rather be healed.

¹⁸ Pray also for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.

²⁴ Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we being dead to our sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose wound ye were healed.

²² And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

²⁵ I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up for three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land:

²⁶ But Peter raised him up, saying, What doest thou? I also am a man as thou art.

¹⁵ And speaking, Sirs, why do ye these things? we are men of like passions with you, and preach God unto you, that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, who made the heaven, and the earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:

² God hath not cast away his people whom he foreknew. Know ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel,

⁶ These have the power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophesy: and have power over the waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with every plague, as often as they will.

¹⁷ Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave you rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling your hearts with food and gladness.

¹⁵ But if thy brother shall sin against thee, go, tell him his fault between thee and him alone; if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

³² But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not; But when thou art converted, convert also thy brethren.

¹ Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thy self, lest thy self also be tempted.

¹⁰ For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some have coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

²¹ Which some professing, have erred concerning the faith. Grace [be] with thee.

¹⁸ Who concerning the truth have erred, saying, that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.

¹² Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees. ¹³ And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way, but let it rather be healed.

¹⁴ But if then ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.

²⁰ Let him know, that he who converteth a sinner from the error of his way, shall save his soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

¹⁷ Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know it before, beware, lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

¹¹ Woe unto them; for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.

²² And reprove those that differ: ²³ And others save, pulling [them] out of the fire; but of some have compassion with fear, hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

²⁴ Verily verily I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath eternal life, and shall not come into judgement; but is passed from death unto life.

¹⁴ If by any means I may provoke to emulation my flesh, and might save some of them.

²² To the weak became I weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save all men.

¹⁶ Take heed unto thy self, and unto thy doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt save both thy self, and them that hear thee.

¹⁹ I Paul have written [it] with mine own hand, I will repay it: albeit I do not say to thee how thou oweth unto me even thine own self besides in the Lord.

¹⁵ Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

¹⁹ My brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;

⁶ Blessed and holy [is] he that hath part in the first resurrection; on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God, and of Christ, and they reign with him a thousand years.
