⁴² Watch therefore, for ye know not what day the Lord cometh.

³⁶ But of that day and hour knoweth no one, no, not the Angels of the heavens, neither the Son, but the Father only.

⁴⁴ Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as you think not, the Son of man cometh.

¹³ Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour.

³⁸ Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful even unto death: tarry ye here and watch with me. ³⁹ And he came a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou [wilt]. ⁴⁰ And he cometh unto his disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, Could ye not thus watch with me one hour? ⁴¹ Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed [is] willing, but the flesh [is] weak.

³³ Take ye heed therefore, watch: for ye know not when the time [is]. ³⁴ As a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. ³⁵ Watch ye therefore, for ye know not when the master of the house cometh; at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning; ³⁶ Lest coming out suddenly, he find you sleeping. ³⁷ And what I say unto you [is], Watch.

³⁵ Let your loyn be girded about, and lights burning; ³⁶ And ye your selves like unto men that wait for their Lord, when he will return from the wedding, that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately. ³⁷ Blessed [are] those servants, whom the Lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I [say] unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them. ³⁸ And if he shall come in the evening watch, and find them so, And if he come in the second or third [watch] they are blessed. ³⁹ And this know, that if the good man of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched. ⁴⁰ But be ye ready: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.

³⁶ But Watch ye and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and ye shall stand before the Son of man.

¹¹ And that, knowing the time, that now [it is] high time to awake out of sleep: for now [is] our salvation nearer than when we believed.

¹³ Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.

⁶ Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

⁷ But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.

⁸ Be sober, be vigilant; Your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about seeking whom he may devour.

² Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that were ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before my God. ³ Remember therefore how thou hast received, and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

¹⁵ Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed [is] he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
