⁸ And their deadbody[shall be] in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.

¹⁵ Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah, in the day of judgment, than for that city.

³³ Nevertheless, I must walk today, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem. ³⁴ Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto it, how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen her brood under [her] wings, and ye would not?

⁴ And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

⁶ And are fallen away, to renew them again unto repentance: seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God, and put [him] to an open shame.

¹² Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.

⁶ And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes, condemned [them] with an overthrow, making [them] an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;

⁷ Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them, in like manner with these, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the resemblance of eternal fire.

⁹ And they of the people, and kindreds and tongues, and nations, see their dead body three days and an half, and do not suffer their dead body to be put in a grave.

¹³ And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain names of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

⁸ And there followed a second angel, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen; who made all nations drink o the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

¹⁹ And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell; and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

¹ And there came out one of the seven angels who had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore, that sitteth upon many waters:

⁵ And upon her forehead [was] a name written, Mystery Babylon the great, the mother of harlots, and abominations of the earth.

² And he cried with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of daemons, and the hold of every unclean and hateful spirit; and a cage of every unclean and hateful wild beast.

¹⁰ Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for one hour [is] thy judgment.

¹⁸ And cried, when they saw the place of her burning, saying, What [is] like unto this great city?

²¹ And an angel took up a stone like a great milstone, and cast it into the tea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.

²⁴ And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.
