¹ And He said to His disciples, "It is impossible but that occasions of stumbling should come; but woe to him through whom they come!

²³ But, turning, He said to Peter, "Get behind Me, Satan! you are a stumbling-block to Me; because you are not thinking of the things of God, but the things of men."

⁷ "Woe to the world because of stumbling-blocks! for there is a necessity that the stumbling-blocks come; but woe to the man through whom the stumbling-block comes!

¹³ Let us not, therefore, judge one another any more; but judge ye this rather, not to put a stumbling-block, or an occasion of falling, in a brother's way.

²⁰ Do not, for the sake of food, overthrow the work of God. All things, indeed, are clean; but it is evil to him who eats with offense. ²¹ It is good, neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor to do anything whereby your brother stumbles.

¹⁷ Now I beseech you, brethren, to mark those who are causing the divisions and occasions of stumbling, contrary to the teaching which ye learned; and turn away from them.

¹³ Wherefore, if food causes my brother to stumble, I will in no wise eat flesh forevermore; that I cause not my brother to stumble.

³² Give no occasion of stumbling, either to Jews or Greeks, or to the assembly of God:

¹⁹ for there must also be factions among you, that the approved may be made manifest among you.

¹⁰ and in all deceit of unrighteousness to those who perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. ¹¹ And, for this cause, God sendeth them a working of delusion, that they may believe the lie; ¹² that they all may be judged, who believe not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

¹⁴ But I have a few things against you, because you have there those holding the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to cast a stumbling-block before the sons of Israel, to eat idol-sacrifices, and to commit fornication.

²⁰ But I have it against you, that you suffer the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess; and she teaches and seduces My servants to commit fornication, and to eat idol-sacrifices.

¹⁴ And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by reason of the signs which it was given him to do in the sight of the beast; saying to those dwelling on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, who has the stroke of the sword, and lived. ¹⁵ And it was given to him to give spirit to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as worship not the image of the beast should be killed. ¹⁶ And he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free and the bond, that there be given them a mark on their right hand, or on their forehead; ¹⁷ and that no one should be able to buy or sell, except him who has the mark, the name of the beast, or the number of his name. ¹⁸ Here is wisdom. He that has understanding, let him count the number of the beast; for it is a number of a man; and his number is six hundred and sixty six.
