²⁴ For he was a good man, and full of the holy Spirit, and of faith: and many were added unto the Lord.

³⁵ A good man out of the good treasure of the heart produceth good things; and a wicked man out of the wicked treasure uttereth wicked things:

¹⁷ And He said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou desirest to enter into life, keep the commandments.

⁵⁰ And behold there was a man of Arimathea, a city of the Jews, named Joseph, a counsellor, a good man and a just:

¹² And there was much murmuring among the people concerning Him: for some said, He is a good man; others said, No: He deceiveth the people.

³ Wherefore, brethren, look out from among you seven men of good character, full of the holy Spirit, and of wisdom, whom we may appoint over this matter:

⁵ And the advice pleased the whole multitude, and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith, and of the holy Spirit, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolaus a proselyte of Antioch.

⁸ Now Stephen being full of grace and power, wrought miracles and great signs among the people.

³¹ Then the churches throughout all Judea, and Galilee, and Samaria, had rest, being edified and walking in the fear of the Lord; and through the consolation of the holy Spirit were multiplied.

²¹ And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.

¹⁶ And on this account do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence both towards God and towards men.

⁷ Whereas one would hardly die for a just man, though perhaps for a good man one might dare even to die.
