¹³ But when the Spirit of truth is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He will not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that will He speak, and will shew you things to come.

³² but He that cometh from heaven, is above all: and what He hath seen and heard, this He testifieth: and yet scarce any one receiveth his testimony.

¹⁶ Jesus answered them and said, The doctrine that I teach is not mine, but his that sent me. ¹⁷ If any man desire to do his will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. ¹⁸ He, that speaketh from himself, seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh the glory of Him that sent him is true, and there is no imposture in him.

³⁸ I speak that which I have seen with my Father, and ye do what ye have seen with your father.

⁴⁹ For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father, who sent me, gave me a commandment, what I should say and what I should speak.

⁶ Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me.

¹⁷ even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth Him not, neither knoweth Him: but ye know Him, because He abideth with you, and shall be in you.

²⁶ But the comforter, that is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I have said unto you.

²⁶ But when the comforter is come, whom I will send to you from the Father, (even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father,) He shall testify of me.

¹⁷ "And it shall come to pass in the last days (saith God) that I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy; and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: ¹⁸ yea and on my servants and on my handmaids, in those days, I will pour out of my Spirit, and they also shall prophesy.

²⁸ And one of them, named Agabus, stood up and signified by the Spirit, that there would be a great famine over all the earth: which accordingly came to pass in the reign of Claudius Cesar.

²³ save that the holy Spirit testifieth in every city, that bonds and afflictions await me.

⁹ And he had four daughters virgins, that were prophetesses. ¹⁰ And as we abode there several days, there came down from Judea a certain prophet named Agabus: ¹¹ and he came to us, and taking up Paul's girdle, and binding his own hands and feet, he said, Thus saith the holy Spirit, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man whose girdle this is, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.

²⁴ Fear not, Paul, thou must be brought before Cesar, and behold God hath given thee all that are sailing with thee.

¹⁰ But God hath revealed them to us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, even the deep things of God. ¹¹ For who among men knoweth the things of a man, but the spirit of a man which is in him? so also the things of God no one knoweth, but the Spirit of God. ¹² Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit of God; that we might know the things that are graciously bestowed upon us by God: ¹³ which we also speak of, not in words dictated by human wisdom, but in those which are dictated by the holy Spirit; explaining spiritual things by spiritual words.

⁷ But grace is given to each of us, according to the measure of the gift of Christ. ⁸ Wherefore it is said, "When he ascended on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men." ⁹ Now this expression "He ascended" what does it mean, but that He descended first into the lower parts of the earth? ¹⁰ He that descended is the same also that ascended far above all heavens, that he might fill all things. ¹¹ And therefore He gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers; to qualify holy men for the work of the ministry, ¹² to the edifying of the body of Christ: ¹³ till we all arrive in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, at perfect maturity, even to the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ. ¹⁴ That we may be no longer children fluctuating and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the artful insinuations of men, and their crafty methods of deceiving; ¹⁵ but holding the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him, who is the head, even Christ:

³ Let not any one deceive you by any means; for it shall not come till there come an apostasy first, and the man of sin be revealed,

¹² that they may all be condemned, who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in iniquity.

¹ Now the Spirit expressly saith, that in latter times some shall apostatize from the faith, attending to seducing spirits, ² and doctrines of demons founded in the hypocrisy of liars, who are seared in their own conscience, forbidding to marry, ³ and enjoining abstinence from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving by those that believe and know the truth.

¹ But this know, that in the last days there will be difficult times; ² for men will be selfish, covetous, arrogant, proud, blasphemers, undutiful to parents, ungrateful, unholy, ³ without natural affection, perfidious, false accusers, intemperate, savage, enemies to the good, traitors, ⁴ headstrong, conceited, lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God, ⁵ having a form of godliness, but strangers to the power of it: from such turn away.

¹ But there were indeed false prophets among the people of old, as there will be also among you false teachers, who will privately introduce pernicious heresies, denying even the Lord that bought them, and bringing upon themselves swift destruction, ² And many will follow their pernicious tenets, on whose account the way of truth will be reproached: ³ and by artful speeches they will make sale of you for gain. Whose judgement is long since hastening, and their destruction doth not slumber. ⁴ For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgement; and if He spared not the old world, ⁵ (but preserved Noah an eighth person, a preacher of righteousness,) bringing a deluge upon the world of the ungodly; ⁶ and reducing the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha to ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those that should afterwards be impious; ⁷ and delivered righteous Lot grieved at the lewd conversation of the wicked: ⁸ (for that good man by seeing and hearing their crimes, when he dwelt among them, tormented his righteous soul from day to day with their ⁹ iniquitous deeds) then the Lord knoweth how to deliver the pious from temptation, and to reserve the wicked to the day of judgement to be punished: ¹⁰ especially those who walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise authority; who, being audacious and self-willed, are not afraid to speak evil of dignities: ¹¹ whereas angels, who are greater in strength and power, bring not a reviling accusation against them before the Lord. ¹² But these men, like brute beasts naturally produced to be taken and destroyed, speaking evil of things which they do not understand, shall perish by their own corruption; receiving the reward of their unrighteousness: ¹³ who account it a pleasure to riot even in the day; spots and disgraces; revelling in their frauds, while they partake of your feasts: ¹⁴ having eyes full of adultery, and which cannot be restrained from sin: ensnaring unstable souls, and having a heart practised in rapine; cursed people: ¹⁵ who have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, having followed the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of iniquity; ¹⁶ but was reproved for his transgression: for a dumb beast speaking with the voice of a man checked the madness of the prophet. ¹⁷ These are wells without water, clouds driven by a storm, for whom thick darkness is reserved for ever. ¹⁸ For when they speak swelling words of vanity, they ensnare in the lusts of the flesh, through their lasciviousness, those who had indeed withdrawn from such as deal in error; ¹⁹ promising them liberty, while they themselves are the slaves of corruption: for by whom any one is vanquished, by him he is also enslaved. ²⁰ For if, after they had escaped the pollutions of the world, through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled and vanquished by them, their last state is worse than the first; ²¹ for it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than when they knew it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. ²² But it is happened to them according to the true proverb, The dog is returned to his own vomit, and, The swine that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

²⁰ And ye have an unction from the holy One, and know all.

²⁷ But the unction, which ye have received from Him, abideth in you; and therefore ye have no need that any should teach you: since this very unction teacheth you concerning all things, and is truth and not falshood; even as that hath taught you, abide in Him.

⁶ We are of God: he, that knoweth God, heareth us; but he, who is not of God, heareth not us. By this we know the Spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

¹ The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto Him, to shew to his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and He sent and signified it by his angel to his servant John,

¹⁹ Write what thou hast seen, the things which are, and which are to be hereafter."

¹ And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard one of the four animate beings saying, as with a voice of thunder, Come and see. ² And I saw, and behold a white horse; and He that sat upon it had a bow, and a crown was given Him, and He went forth conquering and to conquer. ³ And when He opened the second seal, I heard the second animal saying, Come and see. ⁴ And there came out another horse, which was red: and it was given to him, that sat upon it, to take peace from the earth, that they should kill one another: and there was given him a great sword. ⁵ And when He opened the third seal, I heard the third animal say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo, a black horse, and he that sat upon it had a balance in his hand. ⁶ And I heard a voice in the midst of the four animals saying, One measure of wheat for a denary, and but three measures of barley for a denary: but see that thou hurt not the oil and the wine. ⁷ And when He opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth animal saying, Come and see. ⁸ And I saw, and behold a pale horse, and the name of him that sat upon it was Death, and Hades followed him: and power was given them to slay a fourth part of the earth, by sword, and by famine, and by pestilence, and by wild beasts. ⁹ And when He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those that had been slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they maintained. ¹⁰ And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on those that dwell upon the earth? ¹¹ And white robes were given to each of them, and it was told them to rest a little while longer, till the number of their fellow-servants, and their brethren that should be killed as they were, should be complete. ¹² And I saw when He opened the sixth seal, and behold there was a great earthquake, and the sun became black as sack-cloth of hair, and the moon was red as blood; ¹³ and the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig-tree droppeth it's unripe figs, when shaken by a strong wind; ¹⁴ and the heaven passed away as a book rolled up, and every mountain and island were moved out of their places: ¹⁵ and the kings of the earth, and the grandees, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every slave, and every free man, hid themselves in the caverns and in the rocks of the mountains; ¹⁶ and said to the mountains and to the rocks, "Fall upon us, and hide us from the face of Him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: ¹⁷ for the great day of his wrath is come, and who can stand before Him?"

¹ And he shewed me a pure river of the water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God, and of the Lamb. ² And in the midst of the street, and of the river, which ran on each side, was the tree of life, producing fruits twelve times in the year, yielding its different fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. ³ And every curse shall cease: and the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and his servants shall serve Him. ⁴ And they shall see his face; and his name shall be on their foreheads. ⁵ And there shall be no night there: and they have no need of a candle, nor of the light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light; and they shall reign for ever and ever. ⁶ And he said unto me, These words are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets hath sent his angel to shew unto his servants what must soon be. ⁷ For behold I come quickly: happy is he that keepeth the words of the prophecy of this book. ⁸ And I John am he who saw and heard these things: and when I had heard and seen them, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel, who shewed me these things. ⁹ And he said unto me, See thou do it not: for I am a fellow-servant of thine, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of those who observe the words of this book: worship God. ¹⁰ And he said unto me, Seal not the words of the prophecy of this book; for the time is near. ¹¹ Let him, that is unjust, be unjust still: and let him, that is filthy, be filthy still: and let him, that is righteous, be righteous still; and let him, that is holy, be holy still. ¹² And behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to recompense every one according to his work. ¹³ I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. ¹⁴ Happy are they that do his commandments, so shall they have a right to the tree of life, and may enter in by the gates into the city. ¹⁵ But without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and every one that loveth and practiseth falshood. ¹⁶ I Jesus have sent my messenger to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am both the root and the offspring of David, the bright and morning star. ¹⁷ And the Spirit and the bride say, Come; and let him that heareth say, Come. And let him, that thirsteth, Come. And let him, that desireth it, take the water of life freely. ¹⁸ I testify to every one that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any one add to these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: ¹⁹ and if any one take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things that are written in this book. ²⁰ He who testifieth these things saith, I surely come quickly. Amen, even so come, Lord Jesus. ²¹ The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
