John 13:5-15

ABU(i) 5 After that he pours water into the basin, and began to wash the feet of his disciples, and to wipe them with the towel with which he was girded. 6 He comes therefore to Simon Peter; and Peter says to him: Lord, dost thou wash my feet? 7 Jesus answered and said to him: What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter. 8 Peter says to him: Never shalt thou wash my feet. Jesus answered him: If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me. 9 Simon Peter says to him: Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head. 10 Jesus says to him: He that has bathed has no need save to wash the feet, but is wholly clean. And ye are clean; but not all. 11 For he knew his betrayer; therefore he said: Ye are not all clean. 12 When therefore he had washed their feet, he took his garments, and reclining again at table, said to them: Know ye what I have done to you? 13 Ye call me the Teacher, and the Master; and ye say well, for so I am. 14 If I then, the Master and the Teacher, washed your feet, ye also ought to wash one another's feet. 15 For I gave you an example, that as I did to you, ye also should do.
