Luke 24:23-35

Anderson(i) 23 for they found not his body, and came and told that they had seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive. 24 And some of those who were with us went to the sepulcher, and found it even as the women had said, but him they saw not. 25 And he said to them: inconsiderate, and slow of heart to believe all things that the prophets have spoken! 26 Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? 27 And beginning from Moses, and all the prophets, he explained to them, in all the Scriptures, the things concerning himself. 28 And they drew near the village to which they were going; and he made as if he would go further. 29 And they constrained him, saying: Remain with us, for it is near the evening, and the day has declined. And he went in to remain with them. 30 And it came to pass, while he reclined at table with them, that he took bread and blessed; and he broke, and gave it to them. 31 And their eyes were opened, and they recognized him, and he disappeared from them. 32 And they said one to an other, Did not our heart burn within us while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures? 33 And they arose the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven, and those who were with them, assembled, 34 and saying: The Lord has risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon. 35 And they told what had taken place on the way, and how he was made known to them in the breaking of bread.
