CLV(i)
If I have withheld the desire of the poor And have caused the eyes of the widow to fail,
And I have eaten my morsel by myself alone, So that the orphan could not eat of i.
(Indeed from my youth he grew great as with a father, And from the belly of my mother I have guided her),
If I have seen anyone perishing from lack of clothing, And there was no covering for the needy,
If his loins did not bless me, Since he was warmed with the fleece of my lambs,
If I have waved my hand against the orphan Because I saw my backing was in the gate,
Then may my shoulder fall from the shoulder blade, And may my arm be broken from the clavicle.
