Go and say to David my servant, Thus says Yah Veh, Build me not a house to settle in:
for I settled not in a house since the day I ascended Yisra El, to this day; and I have been from tent to tent and the tabernacle:
wherever I walked with all Yisra El, I worded a word to one of the judges of Yisra El whom I misvahed to tend my people, saying, Why build you not me a house of cedars?
And now you say thus to my servant David, Thus says Yah Veh Sabaoth, I take you from the habitation of rest - from after the flock to be eminent over my people Yisra El:
and I am with you wherever you walk and cut off all your enemies from your face and work you a name as the name of the great men in the earth:
and I set a place for my people Yisra El and plant them; and they tabernacle in their place and quiver no more; and the sons of wickedness add not to wear them out as at the beginning;
yes, even since the days I misvahed judges over my people Yisra El: and I subdue all your enemies: and I tell you, Yah Veh builds you a house.
And so be it, when your days fulfill to go to your fathers, that I raise your seed after you, being of your sons; and I establish his sovereigndom:
he builds me a house and I establish his throne eternally.
