Job 15

ELI PHAZ ANSWERS
And Eli Phaz the Temaniy answers, 2 and says, Answers the wise knowledge of spirit/wind? - fills his belly with the easterly? 3 Reproves he with useless words? - utterances of no benefit? 4 Yes, you violate awe and diminish meditation at the face of El. 5 Your mouth teaches your perversity and you choose the tongue of the subtle; 6 your own mouth judges you wicked - not I; yes, your own lips answer against you. 7 Are you the first birthed human? Were you whirled at the face of the hills? 8 Hear you the private counsel of Elohah? Diminish you wisdom to yourself? 9 What know you, that we know not? - what discern you, that is not in us? 10 With us are both the grayed and the aged, more advanced in days than your father. 11 Are the consolations of El petty with you? Is there any gentle word with you? 12 Why does your heart take you away? At what do your eyes twinkle? 13 - that you turn your spirit against El - that utterances go from your mouth? 14 What is man - birthed of a woman that he be purified? that he be justified? 15 Behold, he trusts not in his holy; yes, the heavens are not clean in his eyes. 16 How much more abhorrent and muddled is man, who drinks wickedness as water? 17 I show you, you hear me; what I see I scribe; 18 what, from their fathers, the wise have told, and not concealed; 19 to whom alone the earth was given and no stranger passed in their midst. 20 The wicked writhes all his days and the number of years is hidden to the tyrant. 21 A voice of dread is in his ears; in shalom, the ravager comes upon him. 22 He trusts not that he returns from darkness and he is watched by the sword. 23 He wanders abroad for bread! Where is it? He knows that the day of darkness is prepared at his hand. 24 Tribulation and distress frighten him; - prevail against him as a sovereign ready to the tumult; 25 he spreads his hand against El and prevails mightily against Shadday. 26 He runs on him - on his neck - on the thick bosses of his shields; 27 because he covers his face with fat and works his flanks plump; 28 and he tabernacles in cut off cities and in houses which no man settles - ready to be heaped. 29 He neither enriches, neither his valuables arise, nor his acquisitions spread on the earth; 30 nor turns aside from darkness. The flame withers his sprouts and by the wind/spirit of his mouth he turns aside. 31 He who strays, trusts not in vanity; for vanity is his exchange; 32 - so be it neither fulfilled in his day nor his palm leaf green; 33 he violates his sour grape as the vine and casts his blossom as the olive. 34 For the witness of profaners sterilizes; and fire consumes the tents of bribery: 35 they conceive toil and birth mischief and their belly prepares deceit.
