1 Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge; and whoever hates reproof is stupid.
2 The good produce the pleasure of Yah Veh; and the man of intrigue he judges wicked.
3 A human is not established by wickedness; and the root of the just totters not.
4 A virtuous woman is a crown to her master; and she who shames as rottenness in his bones.
5 The fabrications of the just are justness; the counsels of the wicked are deceit.
6 The words of the wicked are to lurk for blood; and the mouth of the straight rescues them.
7 The wicked overturn, and are not; and the house of the just stands.
8 A man is halaled according to the comprehension of his mouth; and he of a perverted heart is disrespected.
9 Better, the abased who has a servant, than he who honors himself and lacks bread.
10 The just knows the soul of his animal; and the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
11 He who serves his soil is satisfied with bread; and he who pursues vanities lacks heart.
12 The wicked desire the lair of evil; and the root of the just gives.
13 The snare of evil is by the rebellion of lips; and the just come from tribulation.
14 A man is satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth; and the dealing of human hands returns to him.
15 The way of a fool is straight in his own eyes; and he who hearkens to counsel is wise.
16 The vexation of a fool is known in a day; and the subtle cover abasement.
17 He who breathes trustworthily, tells justness; and a false witness, deceit.
18 The babbler is like the stabs of a sword; and the tongue of the wise is healing.
19 The lip of truth establishes eternally; and a false tongue is for a blink.
20 Deceit is in the heart of them who inscribe evil; but to the counsellors of shalom is cheerfulness.
21 No mischief happens to the just; and the wicked are filled with evil.
22 False lips are an abhorrence to Yah Veh; and they who work trustworthily are his pleasure.
23 A subtle human covers knowledge; and the heart of fools calls, Folly!
24 The hand of the decisive reigns; and the deceitful are a vassal.
25 Concern prostrates the heart of man; and a good word cheers.
26 The just explores his friend; and the way of the wicked seduces them.
27 The deceitful singes not his hunt; and the wealth of a decisive human esteems.
28 In the way of justness is life; and in that pathway there is no death.
