Proverbs 22

ECB(i) 1 Choose a name rather than great riches; and good charism rather than silver and gold. 2 The rich and impoverished meet together; Yah Veh is the Worker of them all. 3 The subtle sees the evil and hides himself; and the gullible pass on and are penalized. 4 The finality of humility and to awe Yah Veh are riches and honor and life. 5 Thorns and snares are in the way of the pervert; he who guards his soul is far from them. 6 Hanukkah a lad by mouth about his way; and when he ages, he turns not aside from it. 7 The rich reign over the impoverished and the borrower is servant to the man who lends. 8 Whoever seeds wickedness, harvests mischief; and the scion of his fury is finished off. 9 He who has a good eye is blessed; for he gives of his bread to the poor. 10 Exile the scorner and contention goes out; yes, pleading and abasement shabbathize. 11 Whoever loves pureness of heart, his lips are charism; the sovereign his friend. 12 The eyes of Yah Veh preserve knowledge and he perverts the words of them who deal covertly. 13 The sloth says, A lion in the outways! I am murdered within the broadways. 14 The mouth of strangers is a chasm; he who enrages Yah Veh falls therein. 15 Folly is bound in the heart of a lad; and the scion of discipline removes it far from him. 16 He oppresses the poor to abound and he gives to the rich only to lack. 17 Spread your ear and hear the words of the wise and set your heart to my knowledge: 18 for they are a pleasure if you guard them within your belly: they are established for your lips: 19 that your confidence be in Yah Veh, I make known to you this day - even to you. 20 Scribed I not thrice to you in counsels and knowledge, 21 so that you know the truth of the sayings of truth - to respond to the sayings of truth to them who send to you? 22 Neither strip the poor, because he is poor; nor crush the humble in the portal; 23 for Yah Veh defends their defence and defrauds the soul of their defrauders. 24 Neither befriend a master of fury; nor go with a man of fury; 25 lest you be taught his ways and take a snare to your soul. 26 Be not of them who clap palms, or of them who pledge for loans. 27 If you have naught to shalam, why take your bed from under you? 28 Remove not the eternal border, your fathers worked. 29 See a man skillful in his work? He sets at the face of sovereigns; he sets not at the face of darkness.
