1 Kings 18:26-29 ויקחו And they took את הפר the bullock אשׁר which נתן was given להם ויעשׂו them, and they dressed ויקראו and called בשׁם on the name הבעל of Baal מהבקר from morning ועד even until הצהרים noon, לאמר saying, הבעל O Baal, עננו hear ואין us. But no קול voice, ואין nor ענה any that answered. ויפסחו And they leaped על upon המזבח the altar אשׁר which עשׂה׃ was made.

27 H1961 ויהי And it came to pass H6672 בצהרים at noon, H2048 ויהתל mocked H452 בהם אליהו that Elijah H559 ויאמר them, and said, H7121 קראו Cry H6963 בקול aloud: H1419 גדול aloud: H3588 כי for H430 אלהים a god; H1931 הוא he H3588 כי either H7879 שׂיח he is talking, H3588 וכי or H7873 שׂיג he is pursuing, H3588 לו וכי or H1870 דרך he is in a journey, H194 לו אולי peradventure H3463 ישׁן sleepeth, H1931 הוא he H3364 ויקץ׃ and must be awaked.

28 H7121 ויקראו And they cried H6963 בקול aloud, H1419 גדול aloud, H1413 ויתגדדו and cut themselves H4941 כמשׁפטם after their manner H2719 בחרבות with knives H7420 וברמחים and lancets, H5704 עד till H8210 שׁפך gushed out H1818 דם the blood H5921 עליהם׃ upon

29 H1961 ויהי And it came to pass, H5674 כעבר was past, H6672 הצהרים when midday H5012 ויתנבאו and they prophesied H5704 עד until H5927 לעלות the of the offering H4503 המנחה of the sacrifice, H369 ואין that neither H6963 קול voice, H369 ואין nor H6030 ענה any to answer, H369 ואין nor H7182 קשׁב׃ any that regarded.
