H5329 To the chief Musician [H8764]   H4905 , Maschil [H8688]   H1732 , A Psalm of David H1673 , when Doeg H130 the Edomite H935 came [H8800]   H5046 and told [H8686]   H7586 Saul H559 , and said [H8799]   H1732 unto him, David H935 is come [H8804]   H1004 to the house H288 of Ahimelech H1984 . Why boastest [H8691]   H7451 thou thyself in mischief H1368 , O mighty H2617 man? the goodness H410 of God H3117 endureth continually.
H3956 Thy tongue H2803 deviseth [H8799]   H1942 mischiefs H3913 ; like a sharp [H8794]   H8593 razor H6213 , working [H8802]   H7423 deceitfully.
H157 Thou lovest [H8804]   H7451 evil H2896 more than good H8267 ; and lying H1696 rather than to speak [H8763]   H6664 righteousness H5542 . Selah.
H157 Thou lovest [H8804]   H1105 all devouring H1697 words H4820 , O thou deceitful H3956 tongue.
H410 God H5422 shall likewise destroy [H8799]   H5331 thee for ever H2846 , he shall take thee away [H8799]   H5255 , and pluck thee out [H8799]   H168 of thy dwelling place H8327 , and root thee out [H8765]   H776 of the land H2416 of the living H5542 . Selah.
H6662 The righteous H7200 also shall see [H8799]   H3372 , and fear [H8799]   H7832 , and shall laugh [H8799]   at him:
H1397 Lo, this is the man H7760 that made [H8799]   H430 not God H4581 his strength H982 ; but trusted [H8799]   H7230 in the abundance H6239 of his riches H5810 , and strengthened [H8799]   H1942 himself in his wickedness.
H7488 But I am like a green H2132 olive tree H1004 in the house H430 of God H982 : I trust [H8804]   H2617 in the mercy H430 of God H5769 for ever H5703 and ever.
H3034 I will praise [H8686]   H5769 thee for ever H6213 , because thou hast done [H8804]   H6960 it : and I will wait [H8762]   H8034 on thy name H2896 ; for it is good H2623 before thy saints.
ERV(i) 1 For the Chief Musician. Maschil of David: when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said unto him, David is come to the house of Ahimelech. Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the mercy of God [endureth] continually. 2 Thy tongue deviseth very wickedness; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully. 3 Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah 4 Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue. 5 God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee up, and pluck thee out of thy tent, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah 6 The righteous also shall see [it], and fear, and shall laugh at him, [saying], 7 Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness. 8 But as for me, I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever. 9 I will give thee thanks for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name, for it is good, in the presence of thy saints.
