9 And when he opened the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who have been slaughtered because of the word of God and because of the testimony of the lamb which they were holding to.
10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, Until when, O holy and true Master, do you not judge and avenge our blood from those who dwell upon the earth?
11 And a white robe was given to each, and it was said to them, in order that they should still rest themselves for a time, until both their fellow bondservants and those who are about to be killed as they were also, should be fulfilled.
12 And I saw when he opened the sixth seal and a great earthquake happened, and the sun became black like hairy sackcloth and the whole moon became like blood; 13 and the stars of the heaven fell to the earth, like a fig tree, having cast its unripe figs when being shaken by a great wind. 14 And the heaven departed like a scroll being coiled up, and every mountain and every island were moved out of their places. 15 And the kings of the earth and the great-men and the commanders and the rich and the strong and every bondservant and free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains; 16 and they say to the mountains and to the rocks, Fall upon us and hide us from the face of the one who is sitting upon the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb; 17 for the great day of his wrath has come, and who is able to stand?
