2 Thou sonne of man: What commeth of the vyne amonge al other trees? & of the vyne stock amonge al other timbre of the groaue?
3 Do men take wode of it, to make any worcke withall? Or maye there a nayle be made of it, to hange any thyng vpon:
4 Beholde, it is caste in the fyre to be brente, the fyre consumeth both the endes of it, the myddest is brente to asshes. Is it mete then for any worcke? No.
5 Seyng then that it was mete for no worke being whole: muche lesse maye there any thing be made of it, when the fyre hath consumed & brente it.
6 And therfore thus sayth the Lorde God: Like as I cast the vyne into the fyre for to be brent, as other trees of the wode. Euen so wyll I do with them that dwell in Ierusalem,
