If any other man thinketh that he hath reason for confidence in the flesh, I more; ⁵ circumcised the eighth day, of the race of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of the Hebrews; as to the Law, a Pharisee; ⁶ as to zeal, persecuting the church; as to the righteousness which is in the Law, blameless. ⁷ But whatever things were gain to me, those for the sake of Christ I have counted but loss. ⁸ Nay more, I count all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as refuse, that I may gain Christ, ⁹ and be found in him, not having my own righteousness, which is of the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God upon faith;
