And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled; ¹⁵ But set apart Christ as Lord in your hearts: and always be ready to give an answer to every man who asks you the reason for the hope that is in you; but do it with gentleness and respect, ¹⁶ Keeping a good conscience, so that when you are falsely accused, those who revile your good behaviour in Christ may be ashamed. ¹⁷ For it is better, if it is the will of God, that you suffer for doing right, than for doing evil.
