Luke 3:7-14 Then he said to the multitude that came forth to be baptized by him, "O generation of vipers, who has warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

TKJU⁽ⁱ⁾ ⁷ Then he said to the multitude that came forth to be baptized by him, "O generation of vipers, who has warned you to flee from the wrath to come? ⁸ Therefore bring forth fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say within yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father': For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. ⁹ And even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees: Every tree therefore which does not bring forth good fruit is cut down, and cast into the fire." ¹⁰ Therefore the people asked him, saying, "What shall we do then?" ¹¹ He answered and said to them, "He who has two coats, let him give to him who has none; and he who has food, let him do likewise." ¹² Then publicans also came to be baptized, and said to him, "Master, what shall we do?" ¹³ And he said to them, "Require no more than that which is appointed to you." ¹⁴ Likewise the soldiers demanded of him, saying, "And what shall we do?" And he said to them, "Do violence to no man, nor accuse anyone falsely; and be content with your wages."
