Are not you much more valuable than they? ²⁷ Besides, which of you can by his anxiety prolong his life one hour? ²⁸ And with respect to raiment, why are you anxious? Consider those lilies of the field, how they grow. They neither toil nor spin: ²⁹ yet I affirm, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. ³⁰ Now if God thus arrayeth the herbage which is today in the field, and tomorrow to be cast into a furnace, will he not much more clothe you, O ye mistrustful? ³¹ Therefore be not anxious, saying, What shall we eat; or, what shall we drink; or, with what shall we be clothed? ³² For about all such things the nations are solicitous: for your heavenly father knoweth that you have need of all these things. ³³ But seek first the kingdom of God, and the righteousness required by him, and all those things will be superadded to you.
