VIN⁽ⁱ⁾ ⁷ The priests brought in the ark of the LORD's covenant to its place, into the inner sanctuary of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubim. ⁸ For the cherubim spread forth their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim covered the ark and its poles. ⁹ The poles were so long that the ends of the poles were seen from the ark in front of the inner sanctuary; but they were not seen outside; and it is there to this day. ¹⁰ There was nothing in the Ark except the two tablets Moses placed there at Horeb, where the LORD made a covenant with the Israelites after they left Egypt.
