Ezekiel 43

VIN(i) 1 And he brought me to the gate which was facing east. 2 I saw the glory of the God of Israel coming from the east. His voice was like the sound of rushing water, and the earth was shining because of his glory. 3 This vision was like the one I saw when he came to destroy Jerusalem and like the one I saw by the Chebar River. I immediately bowed down. 4 And then the glory of the LORD came to the temple by the way of the gate facing east. 5 And the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me into the inner court; and behold, the glory of the LORD filled the house. 6 So I stopped. And lo! a voice from the house, of one speaking to me, and the man stood near me. 7 He said to me, “Son of man, this is the place of my throne, and the place of the soles of my feet, where I will dwell among the children of Israel forever. The house of Israel will no more defile my holy name, neither they, nor their kings, by their prostitution, and by the dead bodies of their kings in their high places; 8 When they placed— Their threshold by my threshold and their door-past beside my door-post, With only the wall, between me and them, then defiled they my holy Name by their abominations which they committed, -Wherefore I devoured them in mine anger. 9 Now let them put away their prostitution, and the dead bodies of their kings, far from me. Then I will dwell among them forever. 10 "Son of man, describe this Temple to the people of Israel. Then they will be ashamed because of their sins. Let them study the plans. 11 "Suppose they are ashamed of everything that they have done. Then show them the design of the Temple, its arrangements, its exits and entrances-its entire design. Tell them about all its rules and regulations. Then write these things down for them so that they can remember its design and follow all its rules. 12 This is the law of the temple: On the top of the mountain, all of its territory, all the way around it, will be most holy. Look, this is the law of the temple. 13 And these are the measurements of the altar in the cubits (a cubit is a cubit and a handbreadth): now its gutter is a cubit in depth by a cubit in width and its rim along its edge all around is one span, and this is also the height of the altar. 14 And from the base on the earth level to the lower shelf, the altar is two cubits high and a cubit wide; and from the smaller shelf to the greater shelf it is four cubits high and a cubit wide. 15 The altar was four cubits high, and from the altar upward stood four horns, 16 The altar hearth shall be twelve cubits long by twelve wide, square in its four sides. 17 And the shelf is fourteen cubits long and fourteen cubits wide, on its four sides; the edge round it is half a cubit; the base of it is a cubit all round, and its steps are facing the east. 18 The man said: "Son of man, this is what the Sovereign LORD says: 'These are the rules for sacrificing burnt offerings and for sprinkling blood on the altar after the altar is built.' 19 And you shall give a young bull for a sin offering to the priests the Levites, who are of the seed of Zadok, who approach Me to minister to Me, says the Sovereign LORD. 20 You must take some of its blood and put it on the four horns of the altar, and the four corners of the ledge, and on the rim all around; thus you must purify it and make atonement for it. 21 You shall also take the bull of the sin offering, and he shall burn it in the appointed place of the house, outside the sanctuary. 22 “On the second day you shall offer a male goat without defect for a sin offering; and they shall cleanse the altar, as they cleansed it with the bull. 23 When you have finished cleansing it, you shall offer a young bull without defect, and a ram out of the flock without defect. 24 And you⌃ shall offer [them] before the Lord, and the priests shall sprinkle salt upon them, and shall offer them up [as] whole burnt offerings to the Lord. 25 “Seven days you shall prepare every day a goat for a sin offering. They shall also prepare a young bull, and a ram out of the flock, without defect. 26 Seven days they will make atonement for the altar and purify it. So they will consecrate it. 27 "'When those days are over, on the eighth day, the priests must sacrifice burnt offerings and fellowship offerings on the altar. Then I will accept them,' declares the Sovereign LORD."
