Zechariah 7 And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Darius , that the word of the LORD came to Zechariah in the fourth day of the ninth month , even in Chisleu;

3 H559 [H8800] And to speak H3548 to the priests H1004 who were in the house H3068 of the LORD H6635 of hosts H5030 , and to the prophets H559 [H8800] , saying H1058 [H8799] , Should I weep H2549 in the fifth H2320 month H5144 [H8736] , separating H6213 [H8804] myself, as I have done H8141 these so many years?

4 H1697 Then came the word H3068 of the LORD H6635 of hosts H559 [H8800] to me, saying,

5 H559 [H8798] Speak H5971 to all the people H776 of the land H3548 , and to the priests H559 [H8800] , saying H6684 [H8804] , When ye fasted H5594 [H8800] and mourned H2549 in the fifth H7637 and seventh H7657 month, even those seventy H8141 years H6684 [H8800] , did ye at all H6684 [H8804] fast to me, even to me?

6 H398 [H8799] And when ye ate H8354 [H8799] , and when ye drank H398 [H8802] , did ye not eat H8354 [H8802] for yourselves, and drink for yourselves?

7 H1697 Should ye not hear the words H3068 which the LORD H7121 [H8804] hath cried H3027 by H7223 the former H5030 prophets H3389 , when Jerusalem H3427 [H8802] was inhabited H7961 and in prosperity H5892 , and its cities H5439 around it H3427 [H8802] , when men inhabited H5045 the south H8219 and the plain?

8 H1697 And the word H3068 of the LORD H2148 came to Zechariah H559 [H8800] , saying,

9 H559 [H8804] Thus speaketh H3068 the LORD H6635 of hosts H559 [H8800] , saying H8199 [H8798] , Execute H571 true H4941 judgment H6213 [H8798] , and show H2617 mercy H7356 and compassions H376 every man H251 to his brother:

10 H6231 [H8799] And oppress H490 not the widow H3490 , nor the fatherless H1616 , the stranger H6041 , nor the poor H2803 [H8799] ; and let none of you imagine H7451 evil H376 against H251 his brother H3824 in your heart.

11 H3985 [H8762] But they refused H7181 [H8687] to hearken H5414 H5637 [H8799] , and withdrew H3802 the shoulder H3513 [H8689] , and stopped H241 their ears H8085 [H8800] , that they should not hear.

12 H7760 [H8804] Yea, they made H3820 their hearts H8068 as an adamant stone H8085 [H8800] , lest they should hear H8451 the law H1697 , and the words H3068 which the LORD H6635 of hosts H7971 [H8804] hath sent H7307 in his spirit H3027 by H7223 the former H5030 prophets H1419 : therefore came a great H7110 wrath H3068 from the LORD H6635 of hosts.

13 H7121 [H8804] Therefore it is come to pass, that as he cried H8085 [H8804] , and they would not hear H7121 [H8799] ; so they cried H8085 [H8799] , and I would not hear H559 [H8804] , saith H3068 the LORD H6635 of hosts:

14 H5590 [H8762] But I scattered them with a whirlwind H1471 among all the nations H3045 [H8804] whom they knew H776 not. Thus the land H8074 [H8738] was desolate H310 after H5674 [H8802] them, that no man passed through H7725 [H8802] nor returned H7760 [H8799] : for they laid H2532 the pleasant H776 land H8047 desolate.
