Whiston(i)
And we declare unto you glad tidings, the promise which was made unto our fathers.
For thus hath God fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus Christ again; as it is also written in the first psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and I will give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the utmost parts of the earth for thy possession.
And that he raised him up from the dead, no more to return to corruption, he said thus, I will give you the sure mercies of David.
He saith also in another [psalm,] Thou wilt not suffer thine holy One to see corruption.
For David after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell asleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:
But he whom God, raised again, saw no corruption.
Be it known unto you therefore, Men, Brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins.
By him therefore every one that believes is justified before God, from all things by repentance, from which we could not be justified by the law of Moses.
