Whiston(i)
Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, tell them who we invited, Behold I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and fatlings [are] killed, and all things [are] ready: come unto the marriage feast.
But they made light of [it], and went their ways, some to their field, and others to their merchandise:
And the remnant took his servants, and treated [them] injuriously, and slew [them].
When the king heard [it], he was wroth: and he sent forth his army, and destroyed those murderers, and burnt up their city.
Then saith he to his servants, the marriage feast is ready, but they who were invited were not worthy.
Go ye therefore into the high-ways, and a many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage feast.
So his Servants went out into the high-ways, and gathered together all those that they found, both bad and good: and the marriage feast was furnished with guests.
And when the king came to see the guests, he saw there a man who had not on a wedding-garment:
And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou hither, not having a wedding-garment? And he was speechless.
Then said the king to his servants, Take him by his hands and feet, and cast [him] into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth,
For the called are many, but the chosen are few.
