²⁶ ἀποψυχόντων (fainting) ἀνθρώπων (men) ἀπὸ (from) φόβου (fear) καὶ (and) προσδοκίας (expectation) τῶν (of that which) ἐπερχομένων (is coming) τῇ (on the) οἰκουμένῃ (earth); αἱ (-) γὰρ (for) δυνάμεις (the powers) τῶν (of the) οὐρανῶν (heavens) σαλευθήσονται (will be shaken).

²⁹ Εὐθέως (Immediately) δὲ (then) μετὰ (after) τὴν (the) θλῖψιν (tribulation) τῶν (the) ἡμερῶν (days) ἐκείνων (of those): ‘Ὁ (The) ἥλιος (sun) σκοτισθήσεται (will be darkened), Καὶ (and) ἡ (the) σελήνη (moon) οὐ (not) δώσει (will give) τὸ (the) φέγγος (light) αὐτῆς (of it), Καὶ (and) οἱ (the) ἀστέρες (stars) πεσοῦνται (will fall) ἀπὸ (from) τοῦ (the) οὐρανοῦ (sky), Καὶ (and) αἱ (the) δυνάμεις (powers) τῶν (of the) οὐρανῶν (heavens) σαλευθήσονται (will be shaken).’

²⁵ Καὶ (and) οἱ (the) ἀστέρες (stars) ἔσονται (will be) ἐκ (out of) τοῦ (the) οὐρανοῦ (heaven) πίπτοντες (falling), Καὶ (and) αἱ (the) δυνάμεις (powers) αἱ (that are) ἐν (in) τοῖς (the) οὐρανοῖς (heavens) σαλευθήσονται (will be shaken).’

²⁶ Ἑκουσίως (If willingly) γὰρ (for), ἁμαρτανόντων (sin) ἡμῶν (we), μετὰ (after we are) τὸ (-) λαβεῖν (to receive) τὴν (the) ἐπίγνωσιν (knowledge) τῆς (of the) ἀληθείας (truth), οὐκέτι (no longer) περὶ (for) ἁμαρτιῶν (sins) ἀπολείπεται (remains) θυσία (a sacrifice), ²⁷ φοβερὰ (terrifying) δέ (however) τις (a certain) ἐκδοχὴ (expectation) κρίσεως (of judgment) καὶ (and) πυρὸς (of fire) ζῆλος (fury) ἐσθίειν (to devour) μέλλοντος (being about) τοὺς (the) ὑπεναντίους (adversaries).

¹⁰ Ἥξει (Will come) δὲ (however) ἡμέρα (the day) Κυρίου (of the Lord) ὡς (like) κλέπτης (a thief), ἐν (in) ᾗ (which) οἱ (the) οὐρανοὶ (heavens) ῥοιζηδὸν (with a roar) παρελεύσονται (will pass away), στοιχεῖα (elements) δὲ (then) καυσούμενα (burning with heat) λυθήσεται (will be dissolved), καὶ (and) γῆ (the earth) καὶ (and) τὰ (the) ἐν (in) αὐτῇ (it) ἔργα (works) [οὐχ] (not) εὑρεθήσεται (will be found). ¹¹ Τούτων (These things) οὕτως (in this way) πάντων (all) λυομένων (being dissolved), ποταποὺς (what kind) δεῖ (ought) ὑπάρχειν (to be) ὑμᾶς (you)? ἐν (In) ἁγίαις (holy) ἀναστροφαῖς (conduct) καὶ (and) εὐσεβείαις (godliness), ¹² προσδοκῶντας (expecting) καὶ (and) σπεύδοντας (hastening) τὴν (the) παρουσίαν (coming) τῆς (of the) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) ἡμέρας (day), δι’ (by reason of) ἣν (which) οὐρανοὶ (the heavens) πυρούμενοι (being set on fire) λυθήσονται (will be dissolved), καὶ (and) στοιχεῖα (the elements) καυσούμενα (burning with heat) τήκεται (are melting).
