¹² Καὶ (And) τῇ (on the) πρώτῃ (first) ἡμέρᾳ (day) τῶν (-) ἀζύμων (of unleavened bread), ὅτε (when) τὸ (the) πάσχα (Passover lamb) ἔθυον (they were to sacrifice), λέγουσιν (say) αὐτῷ (to Him) οἱ (the) μαθηταὶ (disciples) αὐτοῦ (of Him), “Ποῦ (Where) θέλεις (do You desire that), ἀπελθόντες (having gone), ἑτοιμάσωμεν (we should prepare) ἵνα (that) φάγῃς (You may eat) τὸ (the) πάσχα (Passover)?”

¹⁵ Ἀποκριθεὶς (Answering), δὲ (however), ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) εἶπεν (said) ‹πρὸς (unto) αὐτόν› (him), “Ἄφες (Permit it) ἄρτι (presently); οὕτως (thus) γὰρ (for) πρέπον (fitting) ἐστὶν (it is) ἡμῖν (to us) πληρῶσαι (to fulfill) πᾶσαν (all) δικαιοσύνην (righteousness).” τότε (Then) ἀφίησιν (he permits) αὐτόν (Him).

¹⁷ Τῇ (On the) δὲ (now) πρώτῃ (first day) τῶν (of the) ἀζύμων (unleavened bread), προσῆλθον (came) οἱ (the) μαθηταὶ (disciples) τῷ (-) Ἰησοῦ (to Jesus), λέγοντες (saying), “Ποῦ (Where) θέλεις (wish you that) ἑτοιμάσωμέν (we should prepare) σοι (for You) φαγεῖν (to eat) τὸ (the) πάσχα (Passover)?” ¹⁸ Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) εἶπεν (He said), “Ὑπάγετε (Go) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) πόλιν (city) πρὸς (unto) τὸν (a) δεῖνα (certain man) καὶ (and) εἴπατε (tell) αὐτῷ (him) Ὁ (the) Διδάσκαλος (Teacher) λέγει (says), ‘Ὁ (The) καιρός (time) μου (of Me) ἐγγύς (near) ἐστιν (is); πρὸς (with) σὲ (you) ποιῶ (I will keep) τὸ (the) πάσχα (Passover), μετὰ (with) τῶν (the) μαθητῶν (disciples) μου (of Me).’” ¹⁹ καὶ (And) ἐποίησαν (did) οἱ (the) μαθηταὶ (disciples) ὡς (as) συνέταξεν (directed) αὐτοῖς (them) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), καὶ (and) ἡτοίμασαν (prepared) τὸ (the) πάσχα (Passover).

⁷ Ἦλθεν (Came) δὲ (then) ἡ (the) ἡμέρα (day) τῶν (of) ἀζύμων (Unleavened Bread) [ἐν] (on) ᾗ (which) ἔδει (it was necessary for) θύεσθαι (to be sacrificed) τὸ (the) πάσχα (Passover lamb). ⁸ καὶ (And) ἀπέστειλεν (He sent) Πέτρον (Peter) καὶ (and) Ἰωάννην (John), εἰπών (having said), “Πορευθέντες (Having gone), ἑτοιμάσατε (prepare) ἡμῖν (for us) τὸ (the) πάσχα (Passover), ἵνα (that) φάγωμεν (we might eat it).” ⁹ Οἱ (-) δὲ (And) εἶπαν (they said) αὐτῷ (to Him), “Ποῦ (Where) θέλεις (will You) ἑτοιμάσωμεν (we should prepare)?” ¹⁰ Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) εἶπεν (He said) αὐτοῖς (to them), “Ἰδοὺ (Behold), εἰσελθόντων (having entered) ὑμῶν (of you) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) πόλιν (city), συναντήσει (will meet) ὑμῖν (you) ἄνθρωπος (a man), κεράμιον (a pitcher) ὕδατος (of water) βαστάζων (carrying); ἀκολουθήσατε (follow) αὐτῷ (him) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) οἰκίαν (house) εἰς (into) ἣν (which) εἰσπορεύεται (he enters); ¹¹ καὶ (and) ἐρεῖτε (you shall say) τῷ (to the) οἰκοδεσπότῃ (master) τῆς (of the) οἰκίας (house), ‘Λέγει (Says) σοι (to you) ὁ (the) Διδάσκαλος (Teacher), “Ποῦ (Where) ἐστιν (is) τὸ (the) κατάλυμα (guest room), ὅπου (where) τὸ (the) πάσχα (Passover) μετὰ (with) τῶν (the) μαθητῶν (disciples) μου (of Me) φάγω (I may eat)?”’ ¹² κἀκεῖνος (And he) ὑμῖν (you) δείξει (will show) ἀνάγαιον (an upper room) μέγα (large), ἐστρωμένον (furnished); ἐκεῖ (there) ἑτοιμάσατε (prepare).” ¹³ Ἀπελθόντες (Having gone) δὲ (then), εὗρον (they found it) καθὼς (as) εἰρήκει (He had said) αὐτοῖς (to them); καὶ (and) ἡτοίμασαν (they prepared) τὸ (the) πάσχα (Passover).

⁷ ἐκκαθάρατε (Cleanse out) τὴν (the) παλαιὰν (old) ζύμην (leaven), ἵνα (that) ἦτε (you may be) νέον (a new) φύραμα (lump), καθώς (as) ἐστε (you are), ἄζυμοι (unleavened). καὶ (Also) γὰρ (for) τὸ (the) πάσχα (Passover lamb) ἡμῶν (of us) ἐτύθη (has been sacrificed), Χριστός (Christ), ⁸ ὥστε (so that) ἑορτάζωμεν (we might celebrate the feast), μὴ (not) ἐν (with) ζύμῃ (leaven) παλαιᾷ (old), μηδὲ (not) ἐν (with) ζύμῃ (leaven) κακίας (of malice) καὶ (and) πονηρίας (wickedness), ἀλλ’ (but) ἐν (with) ἀζύμοις (unleavened bread) εἰλικρινείας (of sincerity) καὶ (and) ἀληθείας (of truth).

⁴ Ὅτε (When) δὲ (however) ἦλθεν (had come) τὸ (the) πλήρωμα (fullness) τοῦ (of the) χρόνου (time), ἐξαπέστειλεν (sent forth) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God) τὸν (the) Υἱὸν (Son) αὐτοῦ (of him), γενόμενον (having been born) ἐκ (of) γυναικός (a woman), γενόμενον (having been born) ὑπὸ (under) νόμον (the Law),
