³² ‘Ἐγώ (I) εἰμι (am) ὁ (the) Θεὸς (God) Ἀβραὰμ (of Abraham) καὶ (and) ὁ (the) Θεὸς (God) Ἰσαὰκ (of Isaac) καὶ (and) ὁ (the) Θεὸς (God) Ἰακώβ (of Jacob)?’ οὐκ (Not) ἔστιν (He is) ὁ (the) Θεὸς (God) νεκρῶν (of the dead), ἀλλὰ (but) ζώντων (of the living).”

²⁶ Περὶ (Concerning) δὲ (now) τῶν (the) νεκρῶν (dead), ὅτι (that) ἐγείρονται (they rise), οὐκ (not) ἀνέγνωτε (have you read) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) βίβλῳ (book) Μωϋσέως (of Moses), ἐπὶ (on) τοῦ (the) Βάτου (bush), πῶς (how) εἶπεν (spoke) αὐτῷ (to him) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God), λέγων (saying), ‘Ἐγὼ (I am) ὁ (the) Θεὸς (God) Ἀβραὰμ (of Abraham), καὶ (and) ‹ὁ› (the) Θεὸς (God) Ἰσαὰκ (of Isaac), καὶ (and) ‹ὁ› (the) Θεὸς (God) Ἰακώβ (of Jacob)’? ²⁷ οὐκ (Not) ἔστιν (He is) Θεὸς (God) νεκρῶν (of the dead), ἀλλὰ (but) ζώντων (of the living). πολὺ (Greatly) πλανᾶσθε (you err).”

³⁷ Ὅτι (That) δὲ (however) ἐγείρονται (are raised) οἱ (the) νεκροὶ (dead), καὶ (even) Μωϋσῆς (Moses) ἐμήνυσεν (showed) ἐπὶ (at) τῆς (the) Βάτου (bush), ὡς (when) λέγει (he calls) Κύριον (the Lord) ‘Τὸν (the) Θεὸν (God) Ἀβραὰμ (of Abraham), καὶ (and) Θεὸν (God) Ἰσαὰκ (of Isaac), καὶ (and) Θεὸν (God) Ἰακώβ (of Jacob).’ ³⁸ Θεὸς (God) δὲ (now) οὐκ (not) ἔστιν (He is) νεκρῶν (of the dead), ἀλλὰ (but) ζώντων (of the living); πάντες (all) γὰρ (for) αὐτῷ (to Him) ζῶσιν (live).”

³² ‘Ἐγὼ (I am) ὁ (the) Θεὸς (God) τῶν (of the) πατέρων (Fathers) σου (of you), ὁ (the) Θεὸς (God) Ἀβραὰμ (of Abraham), καὶ (and) Ἰσαὰκ (of Isaac), καὶ (and) Ἰακώβ (of Jacob).’ ἔντρομος (Terrified) δὲ (then) γενόμενος (having become) Μωϋσῆς (Moses), οὐκ (not) ἐτόλμα (he dared) κατανοῆσαι (to look).

¹⁶ νῦν (Now) δὲ (however) κρείττονος (a better one) ὀρέγονται (they stretch forward to), τοῦτ’ (that) ἔστιν (is), ἐπουρανίου (a heavenly one). διὸ (Therefore) οὐκ (not) ἐπαισχύνεται (is ashamed of) αὐτοὺς (them) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God), Θεὸς (God) ἐπικαλεῖσθαι (to be called) αὐτῶν (of them); ἡτοίμασεν (He has prepared) γὰρ (indeed) αὐτοῖς (for them) πόλιν (a city).
