⁷ Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) βασιλεὺς (the king) ὠργίσθη (was angry), καὶ (and) πέμψας (having sent) τὰ (the) στρατεύματα (armies) αὐτοῦ (of him), ἀπώλεσεν (he destroyed) τοὺς (the) φονεῖς (murderers) ἐκείνους (those), καὶ (and) τὴν (the) πόλιν (city) αὐτῶν (of them) ἐνέπρησεν (he burned).

⁴⁰ Ὅταν (When) οὖν (therefore) ἔλθῃ (shall come) ὁ (the) κύριος (master) τοῦ (of the) ἀμπελῶνος (vineyard), τί (what) ποιήσει (will he do) τοῖς (the) γεωργοῖς (farmers) ἐκείνοις (to those)?” ⁴¹ Λέγουσιν (They say) αὐτῷ (to him), “Κακοὺς (The wretches), κακῶς (grievously) ἀπολέσει (He will destroy) αὐτούς (them), καὶ (and) τὸν (the) ἀμπελῶνα (vineyard) ἐκδώσεται (he will rent out) ἄλλοις (to other) γεωργοῖς (farmers), οἵτινες (who) ἀποδώσουσιν (will give) αὐτῷ (to him) τοὺς (the) καρποὺς (fruits) ἐν (in) τοῖς (the) καιροῖς (seasons) αὐτῶν (of them).”

²⁷ πλὴν (Furthermore), τοὺς (the) ἐχθρούς (enemies) μου (of mine) τούτους (these), τοὺς (those) μὴ (not) θελήσαντάς (having been willing for) με (me) βασιλεῦσαι (to reign) ἐπ’ (over) αὐτοὺς (them), ἀγάγετε (bring) ὧδε (here) καὶ (and) κατασφάξατε (slay) αὐτοὺς (them) ἔμπροσθέν (before) μου (me).’”

⁴² λέγων (saying) ὅτι (-), “Εἰ (If) ἔγνως (you had known) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) ἡμέρᾳ (day) ταύτῃ (this), καὶ (even) σὺ (you), τὰ (the things) πρὸς (for) εἰρήνην (peace)! νῦν (Now) δὲ (however) ἐκρύβη (they are hidden) ἀπὸ (from) ὀφθαλμῶν (eyes) σου (of you). ⁴³ ὅτι (For) ἥξουσιν (will come) ἡμέραι (days) ἐπὶ (upon) σὲ (you) καὶ (that) παρεμβαλοῦσιν (will cast around) οἱ (the) ἐχθροί (enemies) σου (of you) χάρακά (a barricade) σοι (you); καὶ (and) περικυκλώσουσίν (they will surround) σε (you) καὶ (and) συνέξουσίν (will hem in) σε (you) πάντοθεν (on every side), ⁴⁴ καὶ (and) ἐδαφιοῦσίν (will level to the ground) σε (you) καὶ (and) τὰ (the) τέκνα (children) σου (of you) ἐν (within) σοί (you), καὶ (and) οὐκ (not) ἀφήσουσιν (will leave) λίθον (a stone) ἐπὶ (upon) λίθον (a stone) ἐν (within) σοί (you), ἀνθ’ (in place of) ὧν (which) οὐκ (not) ἔγνως (you knew) τὸν (the) καιρὸν (season) τῆς (the) ἐπισκοπῆς (of visitation) σου (of you).”

²¹ τότε (Then) οἱ (those) ἐν (in) τῇ (-) Ἰουδαίᾳ (Judea), φευγέτωσαν (let them flee) εἰς (to) τὰ (the) ὄρη (mountains); καὶ (and) οἱ (those) ἐν (in) μέσῳ (midst) αὐτῆς (of her), ἐκχωρείτωσαν (let them depart out); καὶ (and) οἱ (those) ἐν (in) ταῖς (the) χώραις (countries), μὴ (not) εἰσερχέσθωσαν (let them enter) εἰς (into) αὐτήν (her);

²⁴ καὶ (And) πεσοῦνται (they will fall) στόματι (by the edge) μαχαίρης (of the sword), καὶ (and) αἰχμαλωτισθήσονται (will be led captive) εἰς (into) τὰ (the) ἔθνη (nations); πάντα (all) καὶ (and) Ἰερουσαλὴμ (Jerusalem) ἔσται (will be) πατουμένη (trodden down) ὑπὸ (by) ἐθνῶν (the Gentiles), ἄχρι (until) οὗ (that) πληρωθῶσιν (are fulfilled) καιροὶ (the times) ἐθνῶν (of the Gentiles).

¹⁶ κωλυόντων (hindering) ἡμᾶς (us) τοῖς (to the) ἔθνεσιν (Gentiles) λαλῆσαι (to speak), ἵνα (that) σωθῶσιν (they might be saved), εἰς (so as) τὸ (-) ἀναπληρῶσαι (to fill up) αὐτῶν (their) τὰς (-) ἁμαρτίας (sins) πάντοτε (always). ἔφθασεν (Has come) δὲ (now) ἐπ’ (upon) αὐτοὺς (them) ἡ (the) ὀργὴ (wrath) εἰς (to the) τέλος (utmost).

¹⁷ ὅτι (For it is) ὁ (the) καιρὸς (time for) τοῦ (-) ἄρξασθαι (to have begun) τὸ (the) κρίμα (judgment) ἀπὸ (from) τοῦ (the) οἴκου (house) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God); εἰ (if) δὲ (now) πρῶτον (first) ἀφ’ (from) ἡμῶν (us), τί (what will be) τὸ (the) τέλος (outcome) τῶν (of those) ἀπειθούντων (disobeying) τῷ (the) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) εὐαγγελίῳ (gospel)? ¹⁸ καὶ (And), “Εἰ (If) ὁ (the) δίκαιος (righteous one) μόλις (with difficulty) σώζεται (is saved), ὁ (the) ἀσεβὴς (ungodly) καὶ (and) ἁμαρτωλὸς (sinner) ποῦ (where) φανεῖται (will appear)?”
