¹⁵ And these are those along the road, where the word is sown; and when they hear, immediately Satan comes and takes away the word having been sown in them.

¹⁰ Then Jesus says to him, “Get you away, Satan! For it has been written: ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him alone shall you serve.’”

¹⁹ Everyone hearing the word of the kingdom and not understanding, the evil one comes and snatches away that having been sown in his heart. This is the one having been sown on the path.

⁵ And having paid no attention they went away, one to the own field, and one to his business.

⁴ And it came to pass as he sowed, some fell along the road, and the birds came and devoured it.

¹² And those along the road are those having heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their heart, lest having believed, they should be saved.

¹⁸ And all with one voice began to excuse themselves. The first said to him, ‘I have bought a field, and I have need, going out, to see it. I beg of you, hold me excused.’ ¹⁹ And another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to prove them. I beg of you, hold me excused.’

³ But Peter said, “Ananias, because of why has Satan filled your heart for you to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back from the proceeds of the land?

¹⁸ And also some of the Epicureans and Stoics, philosophers, encountered him, and some were saying, “What may this babbler desire to say?” but others, “He seems to be a proclaimer of foreign gods,” because he was proclaiming the gospel of Jesus and the resurrection. ¹⁹ And having taken hold of him they brought him to the Areopagus, saying, “Are we able to know what is this new teaching which is spoken by you. ²⁰ For you are bringing some strange things to our ears. We resolve therefore to know what these things wish to be.”

³² Now having heard of a resurrection of the dead, some indeed began to mock him, but some said, “We will hear you concerning this again also.”

¹⁴ Now Paul being about to open the mouth, Gallio said to the Jews, “If indeed it was some unrighteousness or wicked crime, O Jews, according to reason I would have endured with you. ¹⁵ But if it is a question about a word, and names, and in reference to your law, you will see to it yourselves. I resolve not to be a judge of these things.” ¹⁶ And he drove them from the judgment seat. ¹⁷ Then all of them, having seized Sosthenes the ruler of the synagogue, began to beat him before the judgment seat. And it mattered nothing to Gallio about these things.

¹⁹ But they had certain questions against him concerning their own religion and concerning a certain Jesus having been dead, whom Paul was affirming to be alive. ²⁰ Now I, being perplexed concerning this inquiry, was asking if he was willing to go to Jerusalem and there to be judged concerning these things.

³¹ and having withdrawn, they began speaking to one another, saying, “This man is doing nothing worthy of death or of chains.” ³² Then Agrippa was saying to Festus, “This man could have been released if he had not appealed to Caesar.”

¹¹ so that we should not be outwitted by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his schemes.

³ But if indeed our gospel is concealed, it is concealed to those who are perishing, ⁴ in whom the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, so as for not to beam forth the illumination of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

⁹ whose coming is according to the working of Satan, in every power, and in signs, and in wonders of falsehood,

¹ Because of this, it behooves us to give heed more abundantly to the things we have heard, lest ever we should drift away.

¹⁶ lest there be any fornicator or profane person, as Esau, who for one meal sold his birthright.

⁸ Be sober-minded; watch. Your adversary the devil prowls about as a roaring lion seeking whom to devour,

⁹ And the great dragon was thrown out, the ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, deceiving the whole inhabited world. He was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.

² And he seized the dragon, the ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. ³ And he cast him into the Abyss, and shut and sealed it over him, so that he should not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were completed. After these things it is necessary for him to be released for a little time.

⁷ And when the thousand years shall have been completed, Satan will be released out of his prison,

¹⁰ And the devil, the one deceiving them, was cast into the lake of fire and of sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet also are; and they will be tormented day and night to the ages of the ages.
