⁸ Now if your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; it is better for you to enter into life crippled or lame, than having two hands or two feet, to be cast into the eternal fire.

²⁹ And if your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and cast it from you. For it is better for you that one of your members should perish and not that your whole body should be cast into Gehenna. ³⁰ And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and cast it from you, for it is better for you that one of your members should perish and not that your whole body should depart into Gehenna.

³ For Herod, having seized John, bound him and put him in prison, on account of Herodias, the wife of his brother Philip. ⁴ For John had been saying to him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.”

³⁰ And great crowds came to Him, having with them the lame, crippled, blind, mute, and many others. And they placed them at His feet, and He healed them, ³¹ so that the crowd marveled, seeing the mute speaking, the crippled restored, and the lame walking, and the blind seeing. And they glorified the God of Israel.

⁴¹ Then also He will say to those on the left, ‘Depart from Me, those being cursed, into the eternal fire, having been prepared for the devil and his angels.

⁴⁶ And these will go away into eternal punishment; but the righteous into eternal life.”

⁴³ And if your hand should cause you to stumble, cut it off; it is better for you to enter into life crippled, than having two hands to go away into Gehenna, into the unquenchable fire. ^{44 45} And if your foot should cause you to stumble, cut it off; it is better for you to enter into life lame, than having the two feet, to be cast into Gehenna. ^{46 47} And if your eye should cause you to stumble, cast it out; it is better for you to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes, to be cast into Gehenna, ⁴⁸ where ‘their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.’ ⁴⁹ For everyone will be salted with fire.

²⁶ “If anyone comes to Me, and does not hate his father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters and yes, even his life, he is not able to be My disciple. ²⁷ Whoever does not carry his cross and come after Me is not able to be My disciple.

³³ So therefore every one of you who does not give up all that he himself possesses, is not able to be My disciple.

²⁴ And having cried out, he said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me and send Lazarus, that he might dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am suffering in this flame.’

²² And having heard, Jesus said to him, “To you, yet one thing is lacking: Sell all, as much as you have, and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in the heavens; and come, follow Me.” ²³ And having heard these things, he became very sorrowful; for he was extremely rich.

¹² The night is nearly over, and the day has drawn near; therefore we should cast off the works of darkness and should put on the armor of light.

⁸ But indeed, therefore, I also count all things to be loss because of the excelling knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, because of whom I have lost all things, and esteem them rubbish, that I may gain Christ ⁹ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness which is of the Law, but that which is through faith from Christ, the righteousness of God on the basis of faith,

⁸ in a fire of flame, inflicting vengeance on those not knowing God and on those not obeying the gospel of our Lord Jesus, ⁹ who will suffer the penalty of eternal destruction away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,

¹⁰ he also will drink of the wine of the anger of God, having been mixed undiluted in the cup of His wrath; and he will be tormented in fire and brimstone before the holy angels and before the Lamb.

¹⁵ And if anyone was not found having been written in the book of life, he was cast into the lake of fire.

⁸ But to the cowardly and unbelieving and having become abominable and murderers and the sexually immoral and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their portion is in the lake burning with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
