⁷ Now the end of all things is at hand; therefore be of sound mind and self-controlled in your prayers.

² It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the banquet house. Since this is the end of every man, and the living man will apply good warning to his heart.

³¹ the prophets utter unrighteous prophecies, and the priests have clapped their hands, and My people have loved it! And what will you do for the future?

² Thus says the Lord: An end has come to the land of Israel, the end has come on the four corners of the land. ³ Now the end has come upon you, and I will send judgment upon you: and I will take vengeance on your ways, and will recompense all your abominations upon you.

⁶ The end has come on you,

¹³ But he who endures to the end shall be saved. ¹⁴ And this good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed in all the world for a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.

⁴² Watch therefore, for you do not know in what hour your Lord is coming.

¹³ "Watch therefore, for you do not know the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.

³⁸ Then Jesus said to them, "My soul is deeply grieved, to the point of death. Stay here and watch with Me." ³⁹ He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will." ⁴⁰ Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, "What? Were you not strong enough to watch with Me one hour? ⁴¹ Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. Indeed the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."

³³ Take heed, stay awake and pray; for you do not know when the time is. ³⁴ It is like a man going away on a journey, having left his house and having given authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper that he should watch. ³⁵ Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming--at evening, or at midnight, or at dawn, or early in the morning-- ³⁶ lest having come suddenly, he should find you sleeping. ³⁷ And the things I say to you, I say to all: watch!"

³⁷ Then He came and found them sleeping, and He said to Peter, "Simon, are you sleeping? Were you not strong enough to watch one hour? ³⁸ Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. Indeed the spirit is eager, but the flesh is weak."

³⁴ "But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and worries of life, and that Day come upon you unexpectedly.

³⁶ Watch therefore, praying always that you may be counted worthy to escape everything that is about to happen, and to stand before the Son of Man."

⁴⁶ Then He said to them, "Why do you sleep? Rise up and pray, lest you enter into temptation."

¹² rejoicing in hope, enduring in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;

¹¹ And do this, knowing the time, that it is already the hour for us to be roused out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we believed. ¹² The night is advanced, the day is at hand. Therefore let us put off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.

²⁹ But this I say, brothers, the time has been shortened; so that from now on even those having wives should be as though they had none,

²⁴ Then will be the end, when He hands over the kingdom to God, even the Father, when He abolishes every ruler and every authority and power.

¹⁸ through every prayer and petition, praying in every season in the Spirit, being watchful to this same thing with all perseverance and petition concerning all the saints--

⁵ Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.

² Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving;

⁶ Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. ⁷ For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those getting drunk, are drunk at night. ⁸ But we, since we are of the day, let us be sober, putting on a breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation.

⁵ You however be watchful in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

¹² teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,

²⁵ not forsaking the assembling of ourselves, just as is the custom for some, but exhorting one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

⁸ You also be patient. Establish your hearts, because the coming of the Lord has drawn near. ⁹ Do not murmur against one another, brothers, lest you be judged. Behold, the Judge stands before the doors!

¹³ Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, stay sober, put your hope fully in the grace brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

⁷ Husbands, likewise, live together according to knowledge as with a weaker vessel, with the wife, showing her honor as also a fellow heir of the grace of life, in order that your prayers may not be hindered.

⁸ Be sober, be watchful; your adversary the devil walks about as a roaring lion, seeking someone he may devour.

⁹ The Lord does not delay concerning His promise, as some reckon slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. ¹⁰ But the day of the Lord shall come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens shall pass away with a rushing noise, and the elements, burning with heat, shall be dissolved, both the earth and the works that are in it shall be burned up. ¹¹ Therefore, seeing that all these things shall be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness,

¹⁸ Little children, it is the last hour; and just as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have appeared; from this we know that it is the last hour. ¹⁹ They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out in order that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.

¹⁵ Behold, I am coming like a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and guards his garments, lest he should walk naked and they should see his shame."
