¹ God, who in various ways and in many ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets,

^{15 (3:16)} And I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her Seed, He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.

^{3 (6:4)} And the Lord God said, My Spirit shall certainly not remain among these men forever, because they are flesh, but their days shall be one hundred and twenty years.

^{13 (6:14)} And the Lord God said to Noah, The end of all flesh has come before Me; because the earth has been filled with iniquity by them, and behold, I shall destroy them and the earth. ^{14 (6:15)} Therefore make for yourself an ark of square timber; you shall make the ark in compartments, and you shall pitch it within and without with pitch. ^{15 (6:16)} And thus shall you make the ark; three hundred cubits the length of the ark, and fifty cubits the breadth, and thirty cubits the height of it. ^{16 (6:17)} You shall narrow the ark in making it, and in a cubit above you shall finish it, and the door of the ark you shall make on the side; with lower, second, and third stories you shall make it. ^{17 (6:18)} And behold, I shall bring a flood of water upon the earth, to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life under heaven, and whatsoever things are upon the earth shall die. ^{18 (6:19)} And I will establish My covenant with you, and you shall enter into the ark, and your sons and your wife, and your sons' wives with you. ^{19 (6:20)} And of all cattle and of all reptiles and of all wild beasts, even of all flesh, you shall bring by pairs of all, into the ark, that you may feed them with yourself: male and female they shall be. ^{20 (6:21)} Of all winged birds after their kind, and of all cattle after their kind, and of all reptiles creeping upon the earth after their kind, pairs of all shall come in to you, male and female, to be fed with you. ^{21 (6:22)} And you shall take to yourself of all kinds of food which you eat, and you shall gather them to yourself, and it shall be for you and them to eat. ^{22 (6:23)} And Noah did everything that the Lord God commanded him.

¹⁵ And the Lord God spoke to Noah, saying, ¹⁶ Come out from the ark, you and your wife and your sons, and your sons' wives with you. ¹⁷ And all the wild beasts, as many as are with you, and all flesh, both of birds and beasts, and every reptile moving upon the earth, bring forth with you: be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth. ¹⁸ And Noah came forth, and his wife and his sons, and his sons' wives with him. ¹⁹ And all the wild beasts and all the cattle and every bird, and every reptile creeping upon the earth after their kind, came forth out of the ark.

¹ And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and have dominion over it. ² And the dread and the fear of you shall be upon all the wild beasts of the earth, on all the birds of the sky, and on all things moving upon the earth, and upon all the fish of the sea, I have placed them under your power. ³ And every reptile which is living shall be to you for food, I have given all things to you as the green herbs. ⁴ But flesh with its lifeblood you shall not eat. ⁵ For your lifeblood shall I require at the hand of all wild beasts, and I shall require a man's life at the hand of his fellow man. ⁶ He that sheds man's blood, instead of that blood shall his own be shed, for in the image of God I made man. ⁷ But as for you, be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and have dominion over it. ⁸ And God spoke to Noah, and to his sons with him, saying, ⁹ Behold, I establish My covenant with you, and with your seed after you, ¹⁰ and with every living creature with you, of birds and of beasts, and with all the wild beasts of the earth, as many as are with you, of all that came out of the ark. ¹¹ And I will establish My covenant with you: never again shall all flesh die by the water of the flood, and never again shall there be a flood of water to destroy all the earth. ¹² And the Lord God said to Noah, This is the sign of the covenant which I set between Me and you, and between every living creature which is with you for perpetual generations. ¹³ I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for a sign of covenant between Me and the earth. ¹⁴ And it shall be when I gather clouds upon the earth, that My rainbow shall be seen in the cloud. ¹⁵ And I shall remember My covenant, which is between Me and you, and between every living soul in all flesh, and there shall no longer be water for a deluge, so as to blot out all flesh. ¹⁶ And My rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look to remember the everlasting covenant between Me and the earth, and between every living soul in all flesh, which is upon the earth. ¹⁷ And God said to Noah, This is the sign of the covenant, which I have made between Me and all flesh, which is upon the earth.

¹ And the Lord said to Abram, Go forth out of your land, and out from your family, and out of the house of your father, into the land which I will show you. ² And I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you and magnify your name, and you shall be blessed. ³ And I will bless those that bless you, and curse those that curse you, and in you shall all the tribes of the earth be blessed.

² And the Lord appeared to him and said, Do not go down to Egypt, but dwell in the land which I shall tell you of. ³ And sojourn in this land; and I will be with you, and bless you, for I will give to you and to your seed all this land; and I will establish My oath which I swore to your father Abraham. ⁴ And I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven; and I will give to your seed all this land, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in your seed. ⁵ Because Abraham your father listened to My voice, and kept My injunctions, My commandments, My ordinances, and My statutes.

¹² and dreamed. And behold, a ladder fixed on the earth, whose top reached to heaven, and the angels of God ascended and descended on it. ¹³ And the Lord stood upon it, and said, I am the God of your father Abraham, and the God of Isaac; fear not, the land on which you lie I will give to you and to your seed. ¹⁴ And your seed shall be as the sand of the earth; and it shall spread abroad to the sea, and the south, and the north, and to the east; and in you and in your seed shall all the tribes of the earth be blessed. ¹⁵ And behold, I am with you, to preserve you continually wherever you shall go; and I will bring you back to this land; for I will not desert you, until I have done all that I have said to you.

²⁴ And Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled with him till the morning. ²⁵ And He saw that He prevailed not against him; and He touched the broad part of his thigh, and the broad part of Jacob's thigh was numbed in his wrestling with Him. ²⁶ And He said to him, Let Me go, for the day has dawned; but he said, I will not let You go, except You bless me. ²⁷ And He said to him, What is your name? And he answered, Jacob. ²⁸ And He said to him, Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel shall be your name; for you have prevailed with God, and shall be mighty with men. ²⁹ And Jacob asked and said, Tell me Your name; and He said, Why is it that you ask about My name? And He blessed him there. ³⁰ And Jacob called the name of that place Peniel; for, he said, I have seen God face to face, and my life was preserved.

² And God spoke to Israel in a night vision, saying, Jacob, Jacob; and he said, What is it? ³ And He said to him, I am the God of your fathers; fear not to go down into Egypt, for I will make of you a great nation there. ⁴ And I will go down with you into Egypt, and I will bring you up at the end; and Joseph shall put his hands on your eyes.

¹ And Moses was feeding the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. And he brought the sheep close to the wilderness, and came to the mount of Horeb. ² And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in flaming fire out of the bush, and he saw that the bush burned with fire, but the bush was not consumed. ³ And Moses said, I will go near and see this great sight, why the bush is not consumed. ⁴ And when the Lord saw that he drew near to see, the Lord called him out of the bush, saying, Moses, Moses. And he said, What is it? ⁵ And He said, Draw no closer! Loose your sandals from off your feet, for the place on which you stand is holy ground. ⁶ And He said, I am the God of your father — the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses turned away his face, for he was afraid to gaze at God. ⁷ And the Lord said to Moses, I have surely seen the affliction of My people that is in Egypt, and I have heard their cry caused by their taskmasters; for I know their affliction. ⁸ And I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them out of that land, and to bring them into a good and wide land, into a land flowing with milk and honey, into the place of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and Girgashites and Hivites and Jebusites. ⁹ And now behold, the cry of the children of Israel has come to Me, and I have seen the affliction with which the Egyptians afflict them. ¹⁰ And now come, I will send you to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and you shall bring out My people the children of Israel from the land of Egypt. ¹¹ And Moses said to God, Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh king of Egypt, and that I should bring out the children of Israel from the land of Egypt? ¹² And God spoke to Moses, saying, I will be with you, and this shall be the sign to you that I shall send you forth: when you bring out My people out of Egypt, then you shall serve God in this mountain. ¹³ And Moses said to God, Behold, I shall go forth to the children of Israel, and shall say to them, The God of our fathers has sent me to you; and they will ask me, What is His name? What shall I say to them? ¹⁴ And God spoke to Moses, saying, I am THE BEING. And He said, Thus shall you say to the children of Israel, THE BEING has sent me to you. ¹⁵ And God said again to Moses, Thus shall you say to the sons of Israel: The Lord God of our fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you: this is My name forever, and My memorial to all generations. ¹⁶ Go then and gather the elders of the children of Israel, and you shall say to them, The Lord God of our fathers has appeared to me, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, saying, I have surely looked upon you, and upon all the things which have happened to you in Egypt. ¹⁷ And He said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of the Egyptians to the land of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Girgashites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, to a land flowing with milk and honey. ¹⁸ And they shall hearken to your voice, and you and the elders of Israel shall go in to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and you shall say to him, The God of the Hebrews has called us. We will go then a journey of three days into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to our God. ¹⁹ But I know that Pharaoh king of Egypt will not let you go, except by a mighty hand; ²⁰ and I will stretch out My hand, and smite the Egyptians with all My wonders, which I shall work among them, and after that he will send you forth. ²¹ And I will give this people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, and whenever you shall escape, you shall not depart empty. ²² But every woman shall ask of her neighbor and fellow lodger, articles of gold and silver, and apparel; and you shall put them upon your sons and upon your daughters. So you shall plunder the Egyptians.

⁶ And He said to them, Hear My words: If there should be a prophet among you of the Lord, I will be made known to him in a vision, and in sleep will I speak to him. ⁷ My servant Moses is not so; he is faithful in all My house. ⁸ I will speak plainly to him, mouth to mouth, and not in dark speeches; and he has seen the glory of the Lord; and why were you not afraid to speak against My servant Moses?

²⁸ And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions.

⁵⁵ As He spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his seed forever."

⁷² to perform the mercy promised to our fathers and to remember His holy covenant,

²⁷ And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.

⁴⁴ Then He said to them, "These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me."

²² Because of this Moses has given you circumcision (not that it is from Moses, but from the fathers), and you circumcise a man on the Sabbath.

²⁹ We know that God has spoken to Moses; but as for this Man, we do not know where He is from."

³⁰ "Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to seat Him on his throne,

³² And we proclaim to you the good news of the promise which was made to the fathers,

²³ And having appointed for him a day, many came to him at his house, to whom he was explaining and solemnly testifying to the kingdom of God, and persuading them of the things concerning Jesus from both the Law of Moses and from the Prophets, from morning till evening.

² For if the word which was spoken through angels was confirmed, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward,

¹⁰ Concerning this salvation the prophets have sought out and inquired carefully, having prophesied of the grace that would come to you, ¹¹ searching for who or what kind of time the Spirit of Christ in them was revealing when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories which were to follow: ¹² To them it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to you they were ministering these things, which things were now announced to you by those who proclaimed the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven--things which angels desire to look into.

²⁰ knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture comes about from one's own interpretation, ²¹ for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke, being brought along by the Holy Spirit.
