³⁶ Watch therefore, praying always that you may be counted worthy to escape everything that is about to happen, and to stand before the Son of Man."

¹⁰ has he any confidence before Him? Or will God hear him as he calls upon Him?

⁵ Therefore the ungodly shall not rise in the judgment, nor sinners in the counsel of the just.

² And who will abide the day of His coming? Or who will withstand at His appearing? For He is coming in as the fire of a furnace and as the herb of fullers.

⁴² Watch therefore, for you do not know in what hour your Lord is coming.

³³ Take heed, stay awake and pray; for you do not know when the time is.

³⁷ Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly I say to you, that he will gird himself and have them recline to eat, and he will come and serve them. ³⁸ And if he comes in the second watch, or comes in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants. ³⁹ But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what hour the thief was coming, he would have kept watch, and not allowed his house to be broken into. ⁴⁰ Therefore you also be ready, for in an hour that you think not, the Son of Man comes."

¹ Then He spoke a parable to them, that one must always pray and not lose heart,

³⁵ But those who have been counted worthy to attain that age, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage;

² a devout man, and one that feared God, together with all his household, who often gave alms to the people, and making petition to God always.

¹³ Watch, stand fast in the faith, be courageous, be strong.

¹³ Because of this, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having accomplished all things, to stand. ¹⁴ Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

¹⁸ through every prayer and petition, praying in every season in the Spirit, being watchful to this same thing with all perseverance and petition concerning all the saints-- ¹⁹ and for me, that utterance may be given unto me, in the opening of my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel,

² Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving;

¹⁷ Pray without ceasing!

⁵ which is evidence of the righteous judgment of God, so that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, on behalf of which you also suffer; ⁶ since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with affliction those who afflict you,

⁵ You however be watchful in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

⁷ Now the end of all things is at hand; therefore be of sound mind and self-controlled in your prayers.

⁸ Be sober, be watchful; your adversary the devil walks about as a roaring lion, seeking someone he may devour.

²⁸ And now, little children, abide in Him, in order that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed due to Him at His coming.

²⁴ Now to Him who is able to keep them from stumbling, and to make you stand before His glory, blameless with exultation,
