⁹ Then they will hand you over to tribulation and they will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations, on account of My name.

¹⁷ But beware of men, for they will hand you over to councils and they will flog you in their synagogues. ¹⁸ And you will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the nations. ¹⁹ But whenever they hand you over, do not worry how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak; ²⁰ for you are not the ones speaking, but the Spirit of your Father who is speaking in you. ²¹ Now brother will hand over brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents, and put them to death. ²² And you will be hated by all people for My name's sake. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

⁶ And the rest seized his servants, mistreated them, and killed them.

³⁴ Therefore, behold, I send you prophets, wise men, and scribes: some of them you will kill and you will crucify, and some of them you will flog in your synagogues and you will persecute from city to city,

⁹ But take heed to yourselves, for they will deliver you up to councils, and you will be flogged in the synagogues. You will stand before rulers and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them. ¹⁰ And the gospel must first be proclaimed to all the nations. ¹¹ But whenever they lead you forth to deliver you over, do not worry beforehand as to what you will say, nor rack your brains. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak this; for it is not you who is speaking, but the Holy Spirit. ¹² Now brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and will cause them to be put to death. ¹³ And you will be hated by all on account of My name. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

⁴⁹ Therefore the wisdom of God also said, 'I will send to them prophets and apostles, and some of them they will kill and persecute,'

¹² But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and they will persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and rulers on account of My name.

¹⁶ You will be betrayed even by parents and relatives, friends and brothers; and they will put some of you to death. ¹⁷ And you will be hated by all people for My name's sake.

¹⁹ If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you. ²⁰ Remember the word which I said to you, 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also.

² They will excommunicate you; but a time is coming when everyone who kills you will think that he is offering God a service.

² being greatly disturbed because they were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection of the dead. ³ And they laid hands on them, and put them in custody until the next day, for it was already evening.

⁴⁰ And they were persuaded by him, and when they called the apostles and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and released them. ⁴¹ Then they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing because they were counted worthy to be dishonored on behalf of the name of Jesus.

⁵⁹ And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on God and saying, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit."

¹ Now at that time Herod the king put forth his hands to harm some from the church. ² And he put to death James the brother of John with the sword. ³ And seeing that it was pleasing to the Jews, he proceeded further to arrest Peter also (and then were the Days of Unleavened Bread), ⁴ whom also seizing, he put him in prison, and handed him over to four four-man squads of soldiers to guard him, planning after the Passover to bring him again to the people. ⁵ Therefore Peter was kept in prison; but earnest prayer was being made by the church to God on behalf of him.

³¹ And seeking to kill him, a report went up to the commander of the garrison that all Jerusalem had been stirred up, ³² who immediately having taken along soldiers and centurions, ran down among them. And when they saw the commander and the soldiers, they stopped beating Paul.

¹⁹ "And I said, 'Lord, they know that in every synagogue I was imprisoning and beating those believing on You. ²⁰ And when the blood of Your witness Stephen was shed, I myself was standing by consenting to his murder, and guarding the clothes of those murdering him.' ²¹ "Then He said to me, 'Go, for I will send you far away to the Gentiles.' " ²² Now they were listening to him until this statement, and they lifted their voice saying, "Take away such a man from the earth, for it is not fitting for him to live!"

²² But we request to hear from you the things which you think; for concerning this sect, it is known to us that everywhere it is spoken against."

¹⁴ For you, brothers, became imitators of the churches of God which are in Judea in Christ Jesus, because you suffered the same things from your fellow countrymen, just as also they did by the Jews, ¹⁵ who killed both the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they do not please God and are against all men, ¹⁶ forbidding us from speaking to the Gentiles so that they may be saved, so as always to fill up the measure of their sins; but the wrath of God has come upon them to the uttermost.

¹⁶ but if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be put to shame, but let him glorify God in this matter.

¹⁰ Fear none of those things which you are about to suffer. Behold indeed, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, so that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

¹³ "I know your works, and where you live, where Satan's throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith in the days in which Antipas was My faithful witness, who was killed among you, where Satan is dwelling.

⁹ And when He opened the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held. ¹⁰ And they cried with a loud voice, saying, "How long, O Lord, holy and true, do You not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?" ¹¹ Then a long white robe was given to them, and it was said to them that they should rest yet a while, until also their fellow servants and their brothers, who were about to be killed as also they were, should complete their course.

¹⁴ And I said to him, "My lord, you know." So he said to me, "These are those who come out of the Great Tribulation, and have washed their robes and they made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
