¹ And Jehoshaphat king of Judah turns back unto his house in peace to Jerusalem, ² and go out unto his presence does Jehu son of Hanani, the seer, and said unto king Jehoshaphat, `To give help to the wicked, and to those hating Yahweh, do you love? and for this against you [is] wrath from before Yahweh, <sup>3</sup> but good things have been found with you, for you have put away the shrines out of the land, and have prepared your heart to seek Elohim.. <sup>4</sup> And Jehoshaphat dwells in Jerusalem, and he turns back and goes out among the people from Beer-Sheba unto the hill-country of Ephraim, and brings them back unto Yahweh, Elohim of their fathers. <sup>5</sup> And he establishes judges in the land, in all the fenced cities of Judah, for every city, <sup>6</sup> and said unto the judges, `See what you are doing--for not for man do you judge, but for Yahweh, who [is] with you in the matter of judgment;" ⁷ and now, let fear of Yahweh be upon you, observe and do, for there is not with Yahweh our Elohim perverseness, and acceptance of faces, and taking of a bribe.. ⁸ And also in Jerusalem has Jehoshaphat appointed of the Levites, and of the priests, and of the heads of the fathers of Israel, for the judgment of Yahweh, and for strife; and they turn back to Jerusalem, ⁹ and he lays a charge upon them, saying, `Thus do you do in the fear of Yahweh, in faithfulness, and with a perfect heart, <sup>10</sup> and any strife that comes in unto you of your brethren who are dwelling in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and command, statutes, and judgments, then you have warned them and they become not guilty before Yahweh, and wrath has not been on you and on your brethren; thus do you do, and you are not guilty. <sup>11</sup> `And, lo, Amariah the head priest [is] over you for every matter of Yahweh, and Zebadiah son of Ishmael, the leader of the house of Judah, [is] for every matter of the king, and officers the Levites [are] before you; be strong and do, and Yahweh is with the good..

²⁵ Far be it from You to do according to this word, to put to death the righteous with the wicked, and so come the righteous to be as the wicked. Far be it from You! The Judge of the entire earth, will He not execute judgment?

Thus you will eradicate the evil from Israel, ¹³ and all the people shall hear and fear, and not act arrogantly again.

⁵ Then the priests, the sons of Levi, will come close, for Yahweh your Elohim has chosen them to minister to Him and to bless in the name of Yahweh, and at their bidding every contention and every assault shall come to be settled.

⁴ The Rock--flawless is His contrivance, for all His ways are righteous judgment. The El of faithfulness and without iniquity; just and upright is He.

⁴ Of these to preside over the work of the house of Yahweh [are] twenty and four thousand, and officers and judges six thousand,

⁸ And at Asa's hearing these words, and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he has strengthened himself, and does cause the abominations to pass away out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities that he has captured from the hill-country of Ephraim, and renews the altar of Yahweh that [is] before the porch of Yahweh, ⁹ and gathers all Judah and Benjamin, and the sojourners with them out of Ephraim, and Manasseh, and out of Simeon--for they have fallen unto him from Israel in abundance, in their seeing that Yahweh his Elohim [is] with him. ¹⁰ And they are gathered to Jerusalem in the third month of the fifteenth year of the reign of Asa, ¹¹ and sacrifice to Yahweh on that day from the spoil they have brought in--oxen seven hundred, and sheep seven thousand, ¹² and they enter into a covenant to seek Yahweh, Elohim of their fathers, with all their heart, and with all their soul, ¹³ and every one who does not seek for Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, is put to death, from small unto great, from man unto woman.

⁷ And at that time has Hanani the seer come in unto Asa king of Judah, and said unto him, `Because of your leaning on the king of Aram, and you have not leaned on Yahweh your Elohim, therefore has the force of the king of Aram escaped from your hand.

³ And Yahweh is with Jehoshaphat, for he has walked in the first ways of David his father, and has not sought to Baalim, ⁴ for to the Elohim of his father he has sought, and in His commands he has walked, and not according to the work of Israel. ⁵ And Yahweh does establish the kingdom in his hand, and all Judah give a present to Jehoshaphat, and he has riches and honor in abundance, ⁶ and his heart is high in the ways of Yahweh, and again he has turned aside the high places and the shrines out of Judah.

⁸ and with them the Levites, Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijath, and Tob-Adonijah, the Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, the priests. ⁹ And they teach in Judah, and with them [is] the Book of the Law of Yahweh, and they go round about into all cities of Judah, and teach among the people.

³ And Ahab king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat king of Judah, `Do you go with me [to] Ramoth-Gilead?' And he said to him, `As I--so you, and as your people--my people, even with you in battle..

³¹ And it comes to pass at the heads of the charioteers seeing Jehoshaphat, that they have said, `The king of Israel he is,' and they turn round against him to fight, and Jehoshaphat cries out, and Yahweh has helped him, and Elohim entices them from him, ³² yea, it comes to pass, at the heads of the charioteers seeing that it has not been the king of Israel--they turn back from after him.

¹⁸ and they forsake the house of Yahweh, Elohim of their fathers, and serve the shrines and the idols, and there is wrath upon Judah and Jerusalem for this their guilt.

¹⁰ `Now--with my heart--to make a covenant before Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, and the fierceness of His anger does turn back from us. ¹¹ My sons, be not now at rest, for on you has Yahweh fixed to stand before Him, to serve Him, and to be to Him ministering and making perfume..

¹⁹ who has prepared his heart to seek Elohim--Yahweh, Elohim of his fathers--yet not according to the cleansing of the sanctuary;.

²⁵ and Hezekiah has not returned according to the deed [done] unto him, for his heart has been lofty, and there is wrath upon him, and upon Judah and Jerusalem;"

¹⁵ the former governors who [are] before me have made themselves heavy on the people, and take of them in bread and wine, besides in silver forty shekels; also, their servants have ruled over the people--and I have not done so, because of the fear of Elohim.

⁴ Despised in his eyes is the reprobate, Yet he glorifies those fearing Yahweh. He has sworn to his associate and shall not change."

²⁵ With the benign one You show Yourself benign, And with a flawless master You show Yourself flawless;" ²⁶ With the purified one You show Yourself pure, But with the perverse one You show Yourself cunning."

⁸ Your hand shall find all Your enemies; Your right hand, it shall find those hating You."

⁵ It is good when a man is gracious and obliging; He shall sustain his affairs with right judgment.

²¹ Do I not hate those hating You, O Yahweh, And with those rising against You, am I not disgusted? ²² With complete hatred I hate them; They have become enemies to me.

¹⁰ My son, if sinners entice you, do not comply with them;" ¹¹ If they say, Do walk with us, Let us wait in ambush for blood, Let us lurk gratuitously for the innocent, ¹² Like the unseen, we shall swallow them up alive, And robust like those descending to a crypt, ¹³ All precious wealth shall we find, We shall fill our houses with loot, ¹⁴ Let your lot be cast in our midst, There shall be one purse for us all, ¹⁵ My son, do not walk in the way with them; Withhold your foot from their track." ¹⁶ For their feet run to evil, And they hasten to shed blood." ¹⁷ For gratuitously is the net tossed Before the eyes of all the possessors of wings. ¹⁸ Yet they themselves wait in ambush for their own blood; They lurk for their own souls. ¹⁹ Such is the end of all who are greedy for gain; It takes away the soul of its possessors.

²⁰ Heed this that you may walk in the way of good men And keep to the paths of the righteous;

²⁶ For to the man who is good before Him, He gives wisdom and knowledge and rejoicing; Yet to the sinner He gives the experience of gathering and of collecting wealth, To give it to one who is good before the One, Elohim; This too is vanity and a grazing on wind."

⁸ If you should see extortion of the destitute And pillage of judgment and justice in a province, Do not be amazed over the event, For one lofty official above another lofty official is observing, And other lofty officials are over them."

²³ Your chiefs are stubborn, and partners of thieves. Everyone loves a bribe, and pursues payments. The orphan they are not judging. And the contention of the widow is not coming to them." ²⁴ Wherefore avers the Lord Yahweh of hosts, the Sturdy One of Israel, "Woe! I shall be comforted over My foes, and avenged on My enemies." ²⁵ And I will restore My hand on you, and refine, so as to purify you from your dross. And the rebellious will I destroy, and take away all your tin alloy." ²⁶ And I will restore your judges as at the first, and your counselors as at the start. And afterward shall they call you, `Righteous city,' `Faithful Mother-Town.'"

³ And His scent is in the fear of Yahweh. And not by the sight of His eyes will He judge, and not by the hearing of His ears will He correct." ⁴ Yet He will judge with righteousness the poor, and correct with equity for the humble of the land. And He will smite the earth with the club of His mouth, and with the spirit of His lips will He put to death the wicked." ⁵ And it comes that righteousness is the belt of His waist, and faithfulness the band of His loins."

¹ Behold! For justice, a king shall reign, and chiefs for judgment shall control."

¹⁵ He who goes in righteousness, and speaks equities, who rejects the gain of extortions, who shakes his palms from upholding a bribe, who contracts his ear from hearkening to blood plans, and restrains his eyes from seeing evil--"

¹⁸ In My saying to the wicked:You do surely die; and you have not warned him, nor have spoken to warn the wicked from his wicked way, so that he does live; he--the wicked--in his iniquity dies, and his blood from your hand I require." ¹⁹ And you, because you have warned the wicked, and he has not turned back from his wickedness, and from his wicked way, he in his iniquity dies, and you your soul have delivered." ²⁰ `And in the turning back of the righteous from his righteousness, and he has done perversity, and I have put a stumbling-block before him, he dies; because you have not warned him, in his sin he dies, and not remembered is his righteousness that he has done, and his blood from your hand I require." ²¹ And you, because you have warned him--the righteous--that the righteous sin not, and he has not sinned, he surely lives, because he has been warned; and you your soul have delivered.'"

⁶ And the watchman, when he sees the sword coming in, And he has not blown with a trumpet, And the people has not been warned, And come in does a sword, And takes away of them--a soul, He in his iniquity is taken away, And his blood from the hand of the watchman I require."

³ Both palms are set upon the evil to do it thoroughly:The chief is asking, also the judge, for a repayment, and the great one, he is speaking the woe of his soul. And they are entwining it."

⁷ For the lips of a priest shall keep knowledge, and the law shall they seek from his mouth, for the messenger of Yahweh of hosts is he."

⁶ And he shall restore the heart of the fathers to the sons and the heart of the sons to their fathers, lest I shall come and smite the earth to its doom."

¹⁶ And they are dispatching to Him their disciples, with the Herodians, saying, "Teacher, we are aware that you are true, and are teaching the way of God in truth, and you are not caring concerning anyone, for you are not looking at the face of men."

⁵⁰ And lo! a man named Joseph, belonging to the counselors, and a good man and just"

²³ Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone should be loving Me, he will be keeping My word, and My Father will be loving him, and We shall be coming to him and making an abode with him." ²⁴ He who is not loving Me, is not keeping My words. And the word which you are hearing is not Mine, but the Father's Who sends Me."

¹⁸ If the world is hating you, know that it has hated Me first before you."

²³ He who is hating Me is hating My Father also.

³⁵ Besides he said to them, "Men! Israelites! Take heed to yourselves, as to these men, what you are about to be committing."

³⁴ Now Peter, opening his mouth, said, "Of a truth I am grasping that God is not partial,

²⁴ for he was a good man and full of holy spirit and faith. And a considerable throng was added to the Lord.

³¹ Wherefore watch, remembering that for three years, night and day, I cease not admonishing each one with tears."

²⁶ Now, hearing it, the centurion, coming to the captain, reports, saying, "What are you about to be doing? For this man is a Roman."

¹⁸ For God's indignation is being revealed from heaven on all the irreverence and injustice of men who are retaining the truth in injustice,

³⁰ vilifiers, detesters of God, outragers, proud, ostentatious, inventors of evil things, stubborn to parents,

³² those who, recognizing the just statute of God, that those committing such things are deserving of death, not only are doing them, but are endorsing, also, those who are committing them."

⁴ Or are you despising the riches of His kindness and forbearance and patience, being ignorant that the kindness of God is leading you to repentance? ⁵ Yet, in accord with your hardness and unrepentant heart you are hoarding for yourself indignation in the day of indignation and revelation of the just judgment of God, ⁶ Who will be paying each one in accord with his acts: ⁷ to those, indeed, who by endurance in good acts are seeking glory and honor and incorruption, life eonian;" ⁸ yet to those of faction and stubborn, indeed, as to the truth, yet persuaded to injustice, indignation and fury, ⁹ affliction and distress, on every human soul which is effecting evil, both of the Jew first and of the Greek, ¹⁰ yet glory and honor and peace to every worker of good, both to the Jew first, and to the Greek." ¹¹ For there is no partiality with God,

¹¹ For there is no partiality with God, ¹² for whoever sinned without the law, without law also shall perish, and whoever sinned in law, through law will be judged." ¹³ For not the listeners to law are just with God, but the doers of law shall be justified."

⁵ Now if our injustice is commending God's righteousness, what shall we declare? Not that God Who is bringing on indignation is unjust! (As a man am I saying it.)" ⁶ May it not be coming to that! Else how shall God be judging the world?

¹⁸ For I am aware that good is not making its home in me (that is, in my flesh), for to will is lying beside me, yet to be effecting the ideal is not."

⁷ because the disposition of the flesh is enmity to God, for it is not subject to the law of God, for neither is it able."

¹⁴ What, then, shall we be declaring? Not that there is injustice with God? May it not be coming to that!"

¹ Let every soul be subject to the superior authorities, for there is no authority except under God. Now those which are, have been set under God, ² so that he who is resisting an authority has withstood God's mandate. Now those who have withstood, will be getting judgment for themselves, ³ for magistrates are not a fear to the good act, but to the evil. Now you do not want to be fearing the authority. Do good, and you will be having applause from it." ⁴ For it is God's servant for your good. Now if you should be doing evil, fear, for not feignedly is it wearing the sword. For it is God's servant, an avenger for indignation to him who is committing evil." ⁵ Wherefore it is necessary to be subject, not only because of indignation, but also because of conscience."

³¹ For if we adjudicated ourselves, we would not be judged." ³² Yet, being judged, we are being disciplined by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world."

¹³ Watch! Stand firm in the faith! Be manly! Be staunch!

⁶ Now from those reputed to be somewhat-what kind they once were is of no consequence to me (God is not taking up the human aspect)-for to me those of repute submitted nothing.

¹¹ And be not joint participants in the unfruitful acts of darkness, yet rather be exposing them also,

⁹ And, masters, be doing the same toward them, being lax in threatening, being aware that their Master as well as yours is in the heavens, and there is no partiality with Him. "

⁸ For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is grave, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is agreeable, whatever is renowned - if there is any virtue, and if any applause, be taking these into account." ⁹ What you learned also, and accepted and hear and perceived in me, these be putting into practice, and the God of peace will be with you."

²⁵ For he who is injuring shall be requited for that which he injures, and there is no partiality."

¹⁴ Now we are entreating you, brethren; admonish the disorderly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the infirm, be patient toward all."

¹ You, then, child of mine, be invigorated by the grace which is in Christ Jesus."

⁴ Adulterers and adulteresses! Are you not aware that the friendship of this world is enmity with God? Whosoever, then should intend to be a friend of the world is constituted an enemy of God."

¹⁷ And if you are invoking the Father, Who is judging impartially according to each one's work, you may behave, for the time of your sojourn, with fear,

¹³ You may be subject to every human creation because of the Lord, whether to the king, as a superior, ¹⁴ or to governors, as being sent by him for vengeance on evildoers, yet for the applause of doers of good."

¹⁰ If anyone is coming to you and is not bringing this teaching, be not taking him into your home, and say not to him, "Rejoice!" ¹¹ For he who is saying to him to be rejoicing is participating in his wicked acts.
